7 Years of Blogging!! + $100 Target Giveaway! (closed)

This giveaway is now closed.  The winner is #60 Pauline!!

Today sort of crept up on me.  It’s May 22nd which means 7 years ago I wrote my very first blog post never once thinking I’d still be blogging all these years later.   And boy what a ride it’s been and now I’m considered a Granny in the blogging world 🙂  Keeping up with all the changes over the years has been hard and exhausting, especially for a non-techy girl like me, but I can honestly say that I have loved every minute of sharing this crazy passion of mine with you.  There is no greater reward for me than the emails and comments I get saying “thanks to you, I’m now addicted to organizing!”.  Oh how it makes me so happy to know that I have played a hand in creating organizing junkies everywhere, whoot!

From the very beginning I think I’ve maintained my mission of getting others “hooked” along with me.  I wanted a place where readers could come and NOT see picture perfect photos from magazines.  These types of photos are so unrealistic to the everyday family that the ideas couldn’t possibly be achieved or imitated in real life.  Instead I wanted a place where readers could gain valuable organizing tips without feeling overwhelmed or obsessed with making things perfect.  There is no such thing as “perfect” unless you live inside the pages of those magazines and I’m pretty confident that most of us don’t.  Nope life happens around us each and every day and I hope that I’ve been able to help you manage your everyday with simple practical do-able advice with a whole lot of fun thrown in along the way.  That’s what it’s all about for me and I do hope that’s what comes across loud and clear.

My first blog post was only one paragraph and apparently I liked the idea of using dot, dot, dots.  Sheesh! Here it is:

Okay so I’ve been told…I’m a freak….I LOVE to organize…it is my drug of choice what can I say. It’s what I do when I’m bored, mad, happy or sad. A day is not a day unless I’ve organized something…anything…I need it….I go mad searching, searching, anything, room, closet, cupboard, drawer, anything….I do my thing…empty…purge…containerize…assemble….only then when I see my finished work…I feel calm, I sigh and everything is right with the world….until I need my next fix of course and the cycle continues. Join me as I chronicle the life of an organizing JUNKIE!

Yep that about says it all, even today 7 years later 🙂  On a personal level this blog was birthed when my youngest was just six months old.  Without this blog I wouldn’t have been able to stay at home with him all these years and for that I am so very grateful.  He is now 7 and in Grade two and has no idea that all moms don’t blog for a living lol.  Thank you to all my readers (new and old) who have supported me throughout the years, you are simply the BEST!

  1. The PROCESS post (as noted above). I’m likely personally responsible for more than 1/2 of the hits on that (j/k – mostly)! It has changed how I look at things and how I approach my home. Although I am still (at heart) disorganized, I’m so proud to say that I’m still organized in my kitchen (Cupboard of Doom just got an overhaul – but it was still in good shape from the 52 Week project) and my craft room is what it is because of what I learned from your blog!

Congratulations on your 7th bloggiversary! May you have many more wonderful years of blogging bliss!

  2. Your post about organizing your purse changed my life! I bought a purse organizer and love it! Congratulations on 7 years of blogging!

  3. The Command Center because I aspire to creating something like that. Happy anniversary on blogging.

  4. Your blog has really motivated me to “get on it” when it comes to organizing! I love your methods and motivation.

  5. I love that you don’t always have to have something fancy to organize with. So many of the organizing sites are “pretty” but don’t work for those of us who choose to be frugal and use what we have. So in short, you’ve inspired me to use what I have on hand!

  6. Not sure which is my fave. I have been following your blog for 2 or 3 years. Maybe my favorites are the ones with giveaways. 🙂

  7. WOW 7 years! I have been following for last 18 months… I love all your posts. You give me some great ideas!

  8. your recipe index with printable grocery lists has helped me tremendously! I cook for three boys (husband included) and I felt like I was going to the grocery store every day. (I pretty much was) Now, thanks to your blogs and advice, I meal plan and only go to the grocery store once every two weeks!! It has been great and I feel so accomplished. Thanks for your help 🙂

  9. I love menu plan monday, I comb through the postings looking for new recipes and try to make a plan in my head for our dinners for the week.

  10. Any Menu Planning post! I believe that is how I first found your blog, when I was looking for tips on planning out my meals. Ever since find you, I plan my dinners for the week and make my shopping list 🙂 and now I feel lost without a plan, it really has changed my life! We save so much money on groceries by planning out the meals, and it saves so much time in the evening since I don’t have to think up dinner each night. And since I love to plan things out (roadtrips, outfits, parties, anything really!) planning out meals is fun too! I can relax knowing that dinners are organized and planned for the week!

  11. I love your grocery list printable and made a copy to use each week. I am not a Blogger but love coming to your site.

  12. I would love this giftcard! I just moved 3 days ago and would love to be able to go to Target to get a good start on organizing (I’m freakishly obsessed with it too!) in my new place. I have been so encouraged at your diligence in Meal Planning Mondays! It spurs me on to continue to plan my meals so that the rest of my week goes much more smoothly. Thank you!

  13. Your blog post on ‘commabd center’. With one child in school I was SHOCKED at how much paperwork cones home. I need to work on this!!! Thank & happy anniversary!

  14. Happy Blogoversary! Wow! 7 years is a LONG time!

I couldn’t pick just one post, but Menu Plan Mondays have had the biggest impact on my life. I was slow to convert, but now making a menu plan is a critical part of my week. It has helped our family with our budget, our health, and our time together.

Thank you so much for your inspiration and ideas!

  15. I love all the stuff on your blog! You’ve helped me tremendously with the not getting overwhelmed with cleaning/organizing, and I’m a list lover so I love all the printable list you provide! Thanks for taking the time to share your insights and pearls of wisdom!

    Julie

  16. I really enjoyed your 28 days to organize one room/area last February. It took me a lot longer than a month, but I finally got my space cleaned:)

  17. I love how practical your suggestions are. In my top posts from you is the one on how to organize your drawers. I’ve tried a few suggestions and it works! Thanks.

  18. I love anything with before and after pictures! They inspire me to get to work! I also love when you talk about containers you use for organizing.

  19. Your Command Center post was truly an eye opener for me. The kitchen is our hot spot and in quite disarray. Hanging files really helped tuck away the paperwork yet leave a visual reminder of what goes where. And all the cute organization tools you can use to make your own Command Center work for you help make the space even more fabulous! Thanks for sharing your tricks!

  20. You gave me hope, that as busy as I am I can get organized and stay that way! Thanks!!

  21. Love the 12 Things Every Guest Room Needs Post. I used this for my guest room and for our travel trailer – I figured it was a great way to make sure I had everything I would want away from home! Love your blog and congrats on 7 years!

  22. happy anniversary!! Congrats on 7 years!! Thank you for this wonderful giveaway.

My favorite posts were the meal planning. I learned so much from starting to meal plan! Now I go crazy without one!

The one that changed my life though would be the planning to organize then the organization challenges. I learned you can’t just dive in with good intentions. It usually doesn’t get 100% done but pre planning and I usually do my own little challenges to get it done in a time frame works wonders!

  23. inexpensive closet organizers was a life saver for me!!! so helpful and saved me sooo much money

  24. Oh gosh Laura—so many!!! I love all your help–experiences–motivation–all of it!!! <3

  25. I am not sure I can pick just one favorite. Your Menu planning has helped me tremendously. I also like how you found a simple solution to label the baskets and when I asked about labeling the fabric cubes I use, you and your readers replied with some great ideas. Thank you for all you do. Happy Blogging Anniversary!

  26. I am just like you. Love everything in its place. Can always use more ideas. Keep them coming.

  27. Your 3M Command Hook post. It is my favorite aisle in Target. I can lose one hour in there easily. I am always looking for ways to use them. All of them. I never thought of using them in the car. It makes perfect sense. Especially with my toddler in the back seat and all of the crumbs and trash. I know exactly where to hang it. Thank you.

  28. Happy 7 years of blogging. I love any of your Menu planning Monday posts. Just last week my husband got a good laugh when I told him a recipe our whole family enjoyed came from an organizing blog I follow :-). The laugh came because I am an unorganized person who dreams of being organized :-). You have actually helped my get my closet organized & I have actually been able to keep it organized for a year now :-). The rest of the house? It’s still a work in progress :-).

  29. how to pick just one??!! i was inspired by menu planning and organizing kids rooms. here’s to 7 more!

  30. I live just a few miles from where the tornadoes hit. If I win, I will use it for items they may need!

  31. Congrats on 7 years!!! Your $5 dinners have been fantastic. I have 10 grands that are in and out alot so I always enjoy cooking for them but staying frugal. Thank you for sharing and keeping things real!

  32. The blog post that got me started was when you talked about plastic bins, and I said I didn’t like the look and you explained that it wasn’t about the look it was about containing. I’ve been hooked ever since and have a couple plastic bins… but prefer “bins” that aren’t necessarily made of plastic but other materials. Thank you so much for all you do.

  33. Thanks Laura for your blog. I loved the articles every Monday on meal planning. It gives me hope to someday i will totally plan my week. My fave article is on spring clean is that a thing? When we talked about it before you wrote it I never thought hey if I keep on top of it daily I would not have the disarray every season. While I spring clean I feel inspired to maybe I should do daily things to prevent the daunting task that spring and fall cleaning bring! Love yeah girl happy 7 th anniversary!

  34. I am a mom of three active kids, wife to a self-employed (UN organized) husband and the director of a very busy childcare and preschool center. I LOVE to be organized, and I love teaching my kids, husband and clients how to be. Sometimes, life gets away from me, though, so keeping up with your blog and similar ones keeps me on track. I love your first blog most of all. I have always wanted to start one, but figured I’d leave it to the “professionals” like you. THANK YOU! If we won the Target giveway, I would give the $ to my staff to purchase organizers to hold all of the artwork our parents never take home! 🙂

  35. I really love your whole blog, but I laugh at your PICTURES of containers & baskets & stores with containers & baskets. I’m sorta the same way, so I love it 😀

By the way, congrats on 7 years!!!

  36. I have loved all of your posts!! But the one that I really appreciated the very most was the 12 things every guest room needs. We had family coming in to visit and I followed all of your suggestions and it was a complete success! My Aunt and Uncle really loved the special touches and they really felt at home! I thank you from the bottom of my heart for that post because I was very nervous having everyone at my home! You helped me pull it off!!!

  37. “Stop Apologizing” really hit home to me. I felt like you were speaking directly to me!! I still catch myself from time to time but mostly I try to take pride in the good and just ignore the ugly ;).

  38. Happy anniversary!

So much to love, hard to choose just one! I do love the simplicity of the meal planner, makes life so much easier!

    Thanks for the chance!

  39. Happy Birthday! Woo-hoo! Congratulations!
Thank you for sharing your passion with us!

I LOVE to read your posts; especially regarding anything with baskets or boxes. As summer is quickly approaching, I recently enjoyed your guest’s blog for kids’ on garage toys. I want to take back my parking spot!

  40. Your Menu planning has saved me so much money and time I can’t thank you enough! Happy 7 yrs!

  41. I found your blog through Pinterest! I immediately fell in love with all of your ideas and have used tons of them. I have a husband, 4 kids and a dog so our house needed a LOT of organizing. I have always had some sort of organization going on, but nothing like I do now. I still have a long way to go. There are so many ideas and things I want to do! My youngest son has aspergers and having things organized is very important for him and his routine! Winning a Target gift card would really help me get his room organized in a way that he’ll LOVE. Thank you for sharing all your knowledge and passing on your love for organizing!

  42. The closet organizing helped me tons! I had just given birth to my daughter and needed space and after reading that post I used all the tips to make room 🙂 thanks!

  43. Almost every post of yours strikes me, but I am a list lady……so many of your templates are now used by me!

  44. I find the Menu Planning Monday the most consistently helpful and inspiring – I may not always follow through but it’s a weekly reminder that when I plan – mealtime is always less stressful!

  45. I love everything about your first post. I too love to organize and can understand the feeling of when an organizing project is completed… But I never find time. I too love the dot dot dot… Thank you for letting me live through you…. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  46. Too many inspiring ones to choose just one – but your love of baskets inspires me 🙂

  47. Ive been reading through your posts and love them all, with three children who all have too many toys ive been decluttering and trying to organize what they have left. this started in each of their rooms and your post on organizing toys has really helped. im trying to reorganize the rest of my house to make life easier, target is one of my to go stores 🙂

  48. All of the posts on organizing meal planning was my beginning on your blog! I started there and have moved up, following other organizing tips after our move. Thank you for all of your amazing ideas and sanity help!

  49. I love your “Menu Plan Mondays” posts! I look forward to borrowing your weekly ideas for my own menu plan before I go out grocery shopping. It helps me stay very organized, saves me time, and I stay on-task with my grocery list! Thank you for all that you do. Congratulations on 7 years!

  50. Congratulations girlfriend. That’s wonderful. You know what posts I love the most. Your Vlogs! You remind me so much of myself, that every time I watch them I chuckle inside. Keep up the good work.
    Hugs!
    Kim

  51. I love any of yours that include templates or printables! It helps me get organized and saves me the time/trouble of trying to create something similar. Congrats!

  52. Your guest room essentials. I go back to it each time we are expecting house guests. I just need to be sure that nothing has been left out!

  53. Happy Blogiversary! I have to say the post where the books fell on your head was funny because the same thing happened to me…although I am sorry because it must have hurt too! I love Menu Plan Mondays because it always HELPS ME out of a rut! And I am so proud to call you my friend and I would go shopping with you at Target or any where any day! Angie xoxo

  54. Anything Homeschool! I really like (and have used) to post about putting school books where you use them! Love it! 🙂

  55. I think the one i need to re-read the most is “The Organizing PROCESS is Your Force – Use It!”. We are in the process of putting an egress in our basement and getting it organized.

  56. I’m an org junkie newbie and just filled out my 52 weeks plan, starting this week!
Thank you so much for all your great help! And for the giveaway! 🙂
    Congratulations on your 7 years!

  57. I was pleased to see that among your top most popular posts was the Grocery List Template. Though your other tips and tricks have been helpful, this post in particular saved me! Grocery shopping is a chore to me, and in the past I always came home forgetting one or two (sometimes integral) items because the list I would put together was just inefficient. Not a big deal in most cases, but it just made the chore that much worse. Grocery list templates can be found here and there, but the simplicity of yours appealed to me so much that I use and rely on it every time. Sometimes a small change can make a big impact. 🙂

Thanks & Congrats to your blogging success!

  58. The chore chart and responsibility list is going to make life so much easier in the future for me with my youngest daughter age 5… I wish I had something like this when my older 2, ages 20 & 17 were younger.. they had “chores” but I didn’t stress the “responsibility” concept with them.. so I was faced with the “will you do my homework?”.. I’m trying to do it different with my youngest and this will help very much! Thank you! Congrats on the 7 years!

  59. Creating a command center is what got me going on organizing my house, love it and it’s so helpful to watch your videos and read your blog, thanks for the chance to win, and happy blogging
    anniversary!

  60. Hello! I just love all your ideas! I am a mom of two and I can usually take something from each post!

  61. I love the chore charts and the command center articles. We are moving into a new home in 2 days (!!) And ive been trying to find inspiration for implementing systems that reduce clutter and make e ve rything pretty! You have helped me to achie ve that, thank u! (The $100 gc would help me get e ven farther! Lol) And congrats on 7 years!!!

  62. I’m new here and have aoy of catching up to do, thank you for the “start here” Li k!!!

  63. I read one of your blog posts about the 29 steps to a clean bed room, and it really helped me focus on the important things to clean in a bedroom since we spend so much time there sleeping!! However, it also helped me a lot because I am getting married in June, so now the amount of stuff I will have is going to double (and trust me.. he has a lot of stuff!!!) This $100 would really help provide for the organizing tools that we will need when he moves in. We don’t have much right now, but I would really love to have a nice clean bedroom!!

Thanks for all your organizing help!!

  64. i’m relatively new to your blog, but i have loved every single post. because of you, i’ve ATTEMPTED to organize something each week. I don’t always make it, but I recently reorganized my kitchen pantry, and not too long ago i cleaned out what is supposed to be my craft room but had turned into a storage unit. it was awful!

thank you! i love your ‘freakiness’

    xo

  65. I love your meal planning and recipes. Thanks for a great, helpful website and congrats on 7 years!! 🙂

  66. It’s so hard to choose! But if I have to, I’ll go with your creating a command center post. It has made such a difference in helping to control paper clutter (I’m a piler!), plus I can find stuff! A very close second is the household notebook. I’m still working on it, but it’s getting there. I also love your time management and menu planning tips. Thanks for all of your advice!

  67. Home is not my stuff, it really helped me get through moving 9 times in the last 10 years. To be fair 5 of those were in college and across town but each one came with trips to the thrift store to give away things that I couldn’t take with me or would no longer work where I was going. Letting go of momentos and keepsakes that I held onto through move and move became less of a burden when I realized I wasn’t letting go of those memories, just the physical reminders. I still carefully consider what I part with but I feel so much freedom in realizing which things really matter. Now with 3 children, I can focus on creating memories each day instead of saving everything that might prompt a memory.

  68. I wish I could pick one favorite, but I love your Menu Plan Mondays. These make my week so much easier and I have found so many amazing recipes! Congrats on 7 years!

  69. Love your meal planning posts! I’ve gotten loads of recipes from it, and it’s inspired me to keep my meal planning going! Thank you!

  70. I’ve only recently found your blog, and as soon as I get better organized, I’ll follow it closer!!!!! Every single one has been amazing!!!! I’d like to say “THANKS” (my husband can’t thank you enough!). Little by little, I’m getting to where I’ve always wanted to be…with your help!!!!

  71. I love your advice on menu planning. It is much harder for me to give into “picking up” something for dinner knowing that I have everything that I need to make it myself! =Saving money & eating healthier!

  72. Happy Blogiversary, and congratulations on 7 years!!! I love reading what you have you say, I always take away a little piece of inspiration from it.. I love the guest contributor team you put together as well, you all mesh so well together.
I think the post/posts that really did it for me, are the ones about PROCESS. Thanks to that, I actually stop and think before jumping into an organizing project. There have been so many other, wonderful articles over the years, that I can’t really pick any specifics, though my second favorite on would have to be the one about hairspray. It’s nice to know that even the experts have their quirks! And I could totally relate to that.
Keep up the fabulous work, I can’t wait to see what you come up with next.

    1. I love lists. Menu, grocery, chore lists. It feels good to check things off! Thanks for the great tips.

      1. Menu Plan Monday is the best! I’m here each and every Monday — I’ve participated 164 time, in fact (I know this thanks to my blog’s automatic ticking of the MPM posts!). Thanks 😉

  73. Love your site – I am a veteran “collect ideas for later and never get it done” wannabe organizer. We are doing a complete remodel on a very old house, and all the cabinets, etc., are going to be “custom” built by my man. So far, the only cabinet built is the bathroom vanity – it is all there except the actual drawers (slides already installed) and doors on the front, so it is easy to see what I have to work with. Your bathroom cabinet organizing post has a lot of ideas I can use. Thanks! This one is going to be DONE and not just saved until later.

  74. I used your post on the emergency preparedness kit to make sure we are stocked and as ready as can be. 🙂

  75. I love all of your posts about purging/decluttering! Every time I read one, I’m inspired to attack an area of my apartment, weeding out what I really need from the junk! Keep ’em coming!

  76. It would be impossible to name one post that has been most helpful. I’m here several times a week and read it all! Since I’m NOT an org junkie, I need all the inspiration I can get!!!! So, I thank you for your blog, and congratulate you on 7 years!

  77. Congratulations!! Most definitely the command center one. Paper is my nemesis but thanks to your

blog it is so much better.

  78. I liked the Secret Hoarding Habits confessions. I also like to hoard magazines!
I just found your blog via Facebook a couple months ago when you started your Organization Challenge. I wish I could find more on how to organize the random objects that never seem to find a home. I guess since they’re random, it’s hard to blog about them though.

Happy Blogging Anniversary! Thanks for sharing your organizational life.

  79. I don’t think I could pick one- mostly it is just getting my regular dose of inspiration from your posts that push me to get more done! Congrats on your anniversary!

  80. I do not know what I would do without Menu Plan Monday! I have gotten so much dinner inspiration from you and everyone else who links up. You always throw in good planning tips too. Thanks!

  81. I don’t think I can pinpoint a post, there have been too many helpful ones. Linen closet organizing, office and paper work organizing, I love it all!

  82. I am not an organized person by nature and so I google searched and found your site. I stayed up one night last summer reading all 52 weeks for organizing. I reference those weeks frequently to help me not lose faith that one day my house will be organized. My favorites posts/advice is to keep a donation station, take 15 minutes a day to organize something. I even bought my first set of 3M command hooks this months. Thanks for your help!!

  83. I love all of your blogs…but “If it bothers you, change it” really speaks to me. It had me at the first few lines…tupperware always fell out on my head, I am constantly looking for items that I have placed in a “special place” never to be seen again, and my previously punctual personality has been switched out for someone who runs around like a chicken with her head cut off and always squeaks in at least 5 minutes later than she should.

“If it bothers you, change it” is the article that got me hooked on reading your blogs!

  84. Organizing Links. I love that you are not afraid to share others’ work so we can learn not only from you but from those you find most helpful as well. Keep up the good work. I envy those who have a natural ability to organize.

  85. Your laundry system post totally changed the way I do laundry. It’s so much easier to do each person’s laundry separately!

  86. oh my gosh – one post that i’ve loved? my guest room is SO welcoming thanks to you, my schoolroom shelves (while in need of a makeover this summer), are the envy of all my other homeschooling friends, etc. my pantry shelves are fab. you’ve been instrumental in all of that!

  87. I love the Command Center! Very inspirational while I’m trying to get one organzied. Discipline and consistancy and gonna be my new motto!

  88. I like any post on purging. And paperwork. Most things I have problems with. Congrats on 7 Years! Thank you for what you are doing!

  89. I think that there’s at least one tip in each of your posts that I can use. Sometimes, it’s something really small, but it’s so helpful. The one that stays with me was about letting go of “guilty clutter.” That’s let someone else be the proud owner of ceramic cannisters, old furniture, clothes, and much more.

  90. I would never have gotten my life on track without your Process post!! I always had good intentions to organize but could never stick to a schedule. This process really turned that around and now I am clutter free!!

  91. I loved the post about 12 things every guest room should have. I always look forward to reading all your posts, though!

  92. I enjoy reading all your posts and there is always something that helps me out – whether it be a “new to me” technique or a tip that I needed to hear again. My all time favorite post is the one about the file once a year technique. I LOVED the idea and bookmarked it in hopes to implement it into my non-existent filing system right now!

  93. It’s interesting that you post on eliminating clutter piles & creating a command center is so popular since that’s the first post of yours I read. Thanks for all your advice & showing the reality of organizing.

  94. I LOVE your menu planning ideas. With a husband working shifts, five young children, and homeschooling at the same time, I need all the help I can get!

  95. I LOVE all of your posts, I’ve been driving my house nuts with all this new organizing stuff.

  96. It’s not one specific post, but your Menu Plan Mondays have provided inspiration over the past few years for me to start getting that area of my life organized (it still doesn’t always happen, but life is much better when it does). I’ve also liked the organizing inspiration overall (saving this week’s guest post on creating garage stations — for when it warms up enough to organize my garage!), and your guidance over the years for getting your kids involved in organizing decisions early!

  97. Any/all posts where you refer to purging. Less is definitely more! It always feels like a good weight loss program when I’m able to downsize the amount of stuff in our home! Thanks for the inspiration!

  98. I search your blog often about tips on how to store and organize. I liked the post about taping off areas in the garage for the kids to park their bikes. Then they will always know where to independently store that item. Great! And I love all the free print outs!

  99. I really like the closet organization posts. I particularly enjoyed the one about your daughters.

  100. We are such opposites and that is why your blog is so helpful for me. Definitely the PROCESS blogpost. Congrats on 7 years!

  101. Meal PLan Mondays!!! Mine are actually Meal Plan Fridays, but who cares what day it happens as long as life is easier. Thanks for the weekly reminder to keep life simple and organized!

  102. I love the fact that you are an uber organizer… I am at heart but often lack the know how and follow through to accomplish much. I love that you live in Alberta, as I do, so a lot of what you use in organizing I can find too (although I am still trying to find that thirty-one bag at Dollarama!!!).

  103. Meal Plan Mondays! I had never ever thought about planning my meals out a week in advance as a new wife. This helped me to see other people’s lists and to realize that cooking normal foods is a good thing.

  104. Your MPM has saved me in my menu planning and possibly stopped me from quitting completely!
It’s funny, just today I was at Dollarama where they had the cutest little baskets 3/$1 and I thought “Ooh I should tweet this to orgjunkie!” lol

  105. All of yours is my favorite!! 5 simple ways to organize your home then how to make a kid organized.

  106. My most favorite post of yours so far is the one about closet organizing systems. You seemed to have had recently moved and were implementing closet organizing and you gave links to rubbermaid to design and customize you own closet systems. It was really helpful in organizing my own daughters closets. The link to that post in case someone has the problem I did is https://orgjunkie.com/2012/06/are-your-closets-naked-fix-that-with-one-of-these-inexpensive-closet-organizers.html Thank you again for posting that!

  107. Congratulations your blog is a wonderful source of organizing information for many of us! I love all the pictures and products you share. I learn so much each post I read.

  108. Congratulations on your blog anniversary! I love looking at your blog and especially enjoyed the post on guest bedrooms.

  109. I love that Command Center post! I really like how you link to a place to buy the organizing stuff in so many of your posts; that makes it so much easier! Thanks for blogging!

  110. Your menu planning has really helped me and my family to get our grocery spending under control. We now plan our meals for the whole week and we know exactly what we need when we go to the store. Grocery shopping isn’t such an awful task anymore!

  111. So hard to think of one posts that has helped me the most! I have been a follower for a year or so and the first post that I found was about the grocery list printable which in turn helped me to be more efficient with my grocery shopping after I customized one for our family. Keep on blogging! Love your stuff 🙂

  112. Tips for Organizing Toys! My daughter is 8 and my son is 5 and while we don’t have as many toys as some of their friends (so the kids think!), we still have our share. I love organizing with containers and lids and labeling the containers. Now, if I could just make the kids (and their daddy) that certain items go into certain containers! I have major OCD tendencies, so this blog is right up my alley! Thank you for the opportunity to share and for the opportunity to win the Target gift card!!

  113. Pick ONE? Impossible!! I love ALL your posts! Even though I think I’m pretty darn good at organizing already, you never fail to provide me with some new ideas and particularly inspiraiton!! And motivation!!!! Thanks!!

  114. Happy 7 Years of Blogging! Very nice! I must say the “12 things every guest rooms needs” post is a favorite of mine. when we DID have space for guests, i always referred to your post to make sure i had what they might need 🙂 thanks!

  115. Your post about your toiletries bag inspired me to redo mine to make it smaller, simplier & better organized.

  116. It’s so hard to pick just one, they are all so helpful! But, if I must, the ones where you show the pictures of the oodles of baskets from the dollar store, my heart just swoons 🙂 I’ve followed you for several years, congratulations!

  117. I love THIS post the most! How great to be celebrating 7 years. Congratulations and here’s hoping for many more years of blogging ahead. (PS. I also love the Monday Menu posts, just fyi)

  118. I love the Menu Mondays posts. I too have looked to your menu and list ideas and have found many keepers! Congrats on 7 years and looking forward to more!!

  119. I was so excited, and releaved, to learn that there was a name and someone else who lives with this productive condition. I love the resource your site is for me. Thank you for making this commitment.

  120. Purging posts are my favorite! I always want to stop what I’m doing and get rid of stuff!

  121. I’ve found a lot of your posts to be inspiring, but I really enjoyed following your 30-day organizing challenge this year. While I did not participate, all of the posts and links to what others were doing gave me some inspiration and motivation to work on my own spaces!

  122. Congrats on 7 years of blogging!!! The post that helped me most was your laundry system one. Before reading it, I was just combining everyone’s clothes into loads by colors: whites, darks, etc. I didn’t think about how much extra work I was giving myself with the need to sort them again after washing. But now, I wash my 2 boys’ clothes together (unless one has a lot of dirty clothes in the pile, then I even separate theirs too!) and wash my clothes together with my husband’s. Much. Easier. Our boys share a room so it all goes in the same basket and upstairs when dry and (mostly) folded. I so love great ideas that work! Thank you!

  123. Your post on organizing a move really helped me when we moved last year! Happy blogiversary!

  124. The “12 Items Every Guest Room Needs” helped me as hubby & I turned our son’s former bedroom into a guest room … the basket of toiletries and snacks was a great idea which we’ve implemented! Congratulations on 7 years of blogging. 🙂

  125. You post on how to create a command center has helped me the most so far. 🙂

  126. Your clutter clearing tips are my favorite because they make such a profound difference in how much chaos I feel in my life! Thanks!

  127. I love your Menu Plan Monday posts. They always give me ideas for dinner and they’ve inspired me to be more prepared for the week ahead! 🙂

  128. Definitely your post from last year about organizing your office – I just moved into a new house with my first office and it was so helpful!

  129. Just found your blog through Pinterest, and am so glad I did. I consider myself an organized person, but your blog about creating a command center is something I desperately needed. My island has been the catchall for too long. Thanks!

  130. I love the recipe index with printable lists! I love MPM ! I use it when I am short on ideas for what to make. It has been a real life saver for me!Blessings!
    Lora

  131. My favorite posts are the ones about new products that you love. I haven’t bought any yet (my husband and I may be getting furloughed shortly) but you find the neatest things-and they go on my Wish List!

  132. My son is two, but I loved your chore and responsibility post. I have started making certain chores his. He feeds the dog twice a day, and he loves to dust–wonder how long that will last!! LOL.

  133. I LOVE that you have a basket addiction too! I have a major addiction to all sorts of containers but baskets are my favorite! Thanks for all the motivation! 🙂

  134. So many posts, Laura, it’s hard to choose1 i love your obsession with dollar store baskets, as i have the same ‘problem.’ but also your weekly menu plan linkups–those help me and so many others!

  135. Definitely the Command Centre post. I live in two locations for work, and having a Command Centre is onw of the only ways to keep organised across the two places. The place I go to for work has one autistic child, so routine and keeping things in one place is essential for the smooth running of the household.

    Congratulations on the 7 years!

  136. Your Ultimate Collection of Packing Tips. I moved across country 2 years ago and am planning on moving again next year (though just to a nearby town not across the country) and I’ll be using them again.

  137. I have needed your menu plan Monday EVERY week! I get in food ruts and I look forward to surfing through other creative meal suggestions! I love that continuous set of posts!!!!

  138. All of the meal plan mondays! I lookmforward to them every Monday and love getting ideas from you and everyone else that posts!

  139. It isn’t one post that has helped me as much as your consistent ideas about purging, getting it out of the house, using what you have to containerize, and meal planning! My week goes much more smoothly when I have meals planned out and there is a lot less wasted food. But, alas, I don’t always do it…but I AM trying. [Like my dots?]

  140. I liked your “Great Tools for Organizing Drawers” post. I have always struggled with my drawers being a mess and that was the post that helped me! Happy 7th blogaversary!

  141. Soooooo, I joined the 31 Day Organizing Challenge, but totally didn’t get anywhere until a couple days after the challenge ended. But it was motivating to have the Organizing junkie spur me along!

  142. Creating a Command Center and the Menu Plan Mondays. I really enjoy your blog! Happy Blog-iversary!

  143. I like your inexpensive closet organizers post. My master bedroom closet has a lot of clutter, and I really like the FlexHOME Closet Organizer. It looks like it could hold a lot of stuff.

  144. I am an organizing junkie also, but for some reason I just CAN’T get it together when it comes to meal planning… so anything related to that subject helps me!!

  145. I am new to your blog, but boy do I ever need it! I am very disorganized and waste so much time & effort looking for things. I also forget important things that need to be done and miss deadlines. I want this to change, so maybe winning this giveaway could be the start of my organization. 🙂

  146. Congrats on 7 years blogging! I love your PROCESS steps post to organizing! Lord knows I love step-by-step instructions! 🙂

  147. I love your post about command centers! I finally made one by my front door, and I love it. Thanks for the inspiration and ideas 🙂

  148. I loved your post about purse organization! I had never heard of a purse organizer. Now I own one and it’s fabulous!

  149. Your Menu Monday posts have been such an inspiration to get control of our menu and grocery planning

  150. Happy 7 years!! I love love love Target and could so use that card. I love your page and the organization tips. Challenges and printables. I also plan on making that garage toy organization center (although I think it was a guest blogger of yours – but I saw it first on your page 🙂

  151. I can’t say I have a favorite post, I have enjoyed reading your blog for the past couple years. I have picked up a lot of goods tips!

  152. Other than the giveaways that I’m sure we all love, the recipes are always great. Congrats on 7 years of blogging.

  153. Congrats on 7 years!!

I really like your article on ‘How To Make Weekly Household Purges Happen’ because it helped me
realize that I don’t need to make time for a big purge but just keep at it in small batches.

Oh, and the weekly menu plan – always looking for good ideas!!

    thanks

  154. I found the blog post about the chores that your children do particularly enlightening. It certainly helped me understand that my kids aren’t doing nearly enough! Thank you!!!!!

Congrats on 7 years of blogging!!

  157. Happy anniversary! I love Menu Planning Mondays. So helpful to get ideas from what others are cooking.

  158. I love your blog! Was challenged by the post on making weekly purges happen. Keeping clutter cleared out is a constant struggle here.

  159. I particularly enjoyed “How to Use Declutter Questions to Make Purging Decisions” way back in 2011. It sort of clarified for me the steps to make informed decisions based on logical head knowledge and not heart (sentimental) reasons.

  160. I love all the posts about your boys’ shared room! My boys are younger and just began sharing a room, but thanks to you I have lots if ideas for when the baby is out of his crib! 🙂

  161. I’m a fellow basket-addict!!! I always check out Meal Plan Monday! Wouldn’t miss it.

  162. Hi,
I found you on FB. I really like your style, it’s real, easy going and anyone could tell you are a giver of knowledge. That is worth a lot. I have visited many of your suggested sites and have enjoyed many.

Congratulations on your 7 year anniversary!! I wish you many more!

    God’s Blessings to you!
    Patti

  163. I love the PROCESS! I need to put it to use desperately. I also really like the products you share on Open Sky.

  164. Too hard to pick one. I have found lots of them helpful. I really appreciate all your tips and ideas.

  165. I just started reading your blogs, How to get organized is the most helpful for me, i love organizing and Yes I am learning.

    Thanks for inspiring us.

  166. I love all your articles on purging!! And also shopping for storage containers at home from what you already own. Its saved me from buying alot of storage containers. Congrats on 7 years of blogging!

  167. I love the Menu Planning posts and menu plan monday. It is getting me closer to *actually* cooking.

I have never actually cooked a dinner more than one night a week ever. But, one is an improvement! LOL

Thank you for being an inspiration.

  168. No way to pick just one! I enjoy checking in to see what’s on your menu each Monday. Trying to work on organizing! Keep up the great work! Helps so many.

  169. Congrats! Your 52 week challenge was the most inspiring to me. Still refer to it this year when the motivation begins to wane. Thank you!

  170. Congrats on 7 years! I can’t really decide on just one post to call a favorite. I love checking the MPM and loved the 52 weeks series. i love when you round up links and have tech guest posts. Keep’em coming. Oh and I found your things I did and didn’t do (gave away your Mom’s dishes, don’t sort laundry, etc) pretty amusing.

  171. I love all yor blogs about organizing and purging unneeded junk. They help me get motivated to keep moving forward on making our lives easier by letting go of the “stuff” that is weighing us down and organizing the things that we need.

  172. Laura, thanks so much for all the information and help you provide through your blog. And happy 7th blogiversary! The posts that help me the most are menu plan monday! I reach my goals better with some accountability and MPM is just what I need. I’ve been posting MPM for four years this month and it has saved me time. money, and stress! Thanks again! ~~Rhonda

  173. I gasped in surprise the day you actually gave away your plastic containers. I realize I really really like my own organizers!

  174. I would have to say that my favorite posts of yours are the product reviews. I trust your opinions, and you are very fair and honest in your review. I appreciate that!

  175. I love looking for new ways to organize and try to simplify my life. Your website has so many great ideas that motivate me to organize. One of the things that drives me crazy is my kitchen counter where everything gets so piled up quickly. I like the idea of a command station and am planning to make that my next project. Thanks for sharing all your organizing tips and techniques!

  176. I really like your post titled: The Organizing PROCESS is Your Force…Use It. Great way to plan and get going!

  177. Congratulations on seven years of blogging! My favourite post was your 31 tote bag discovery at the Dollar Store — I managed to find a few I my local store!

    Jen

  178. Happy Blog-Birthday! Hmmm I don’t have a single favorite post–I have a favorite series I guess you’d say. I initially found you because of Menu Plan Monday, and I have discovered some awesome new recipes in the last few years. My family thanks you for breaking the monotony!

  179. You inspire me every time I pop over to check out what you are up to. I love you & am sooo proud of what you have done.

  180. The article regarding taking shoes off prior to entering the house, I have always wanted to apply this process at my house, just don’t know how comfortable I am about doing this, this Oregon rain though really has me getting over my uncomfortableness LOL

  181. I was such a “neanderthal” about trying new recipes until I found your site. And ….don’t leave a room empty handed….simple yet helpful. Congratulations!!

  182. I cannot begin to tell you how much you have helped me! I lost my husband 2 1/2 years ago. I went from a 8 room house to a 4 room apartment, due to finances. You have helped me with recipes, organizing and so much more! I love all the tips you post & the recipes really help me stretch my dollar. Thank you for all the emails. I look forward to them! Keep up the good work! I love Target…I could do a lot with this gift card.

  183. I liked the responsibility chore chart post. It was helpful knowing what others were asking there kiddos to do and a link to a really good list of age-appropriate chores. It has really turned things around for this Mommy who has an hour commute each day to and from work. Thanks and congratulations!

  184. Many have helped..but I liked the one about the weekly cleaning schedule. It just makes life easier when ya plan!

  185. I just found your site last year and there are so many posts that have helped me out. I am currently going through the 52 weeks of organizing series and it is helping me tremendously. I have been struggling with clutter and disorder in my home and I love having a step by step process to guide me. Thank you!

  186. Congratulations on your blogging anniversary!

clearly, the process post, as evidenced by my own room redos that have resulted in success from following that formula is my all time favorite blog topic and I like following the post you laid out each step in so that I can say, ok, what have I done and where am I now?

I also love before and afters of guests and contests so I can get inspiration for my own room makeovers! I also like seeing when you do seasonal changeups of your own spaces 🙂

  187. I can’t choose just one post. I was just so happy to find someone else who loves organizing as much as I do!!

  188. I have put together my own kits after reading about how to be prepared for an emergency. Thanks for all of the encouragement and great ideas! 🙂

  189. CONGRATS on your anniversary! You have impacted my life and really enjoy reading your blog each day. My favorite post was about time management, I am a very organized person in all other areas of my life but this is the one area I struggle in. I bookmarked it so I wouldn’t lose the post 🙂 You were a guest blogger and its titled How to Build a Solid Time Management Foundation. I’m not always consistent but I continue to try and follow the guidlines. It’s definitely made a difference in my life.

  190. Your PROCESS has made all the difference for me…and not leaving rooms emptyhanded. 🙂

  191. Oh gosh, I love them all! The one that has mostly helped me though would be the printables. Especially your 52 weeks of organizing!!

  192. Love your blog! I am a die-hard piler so I am always looking for better ways to get things under control!

  193. Wow.. 7 years and I have been with you the whole time… love your blog and you. I have loved the grocery list and use it a lot!!

  194. I love your yearly organizing challenges – one of which I won one year! I think they are a great encouragement – kind of like exercising with friends. Helps you to get going knowing others are doing the same thing.

  195. Your post Face The Facts To Help You Declutter really got me thinking about all of my craft supplies. I tend to keep things because I think they may be useful someday. But your post made me think hard about that habit. I’m now trying to be more conscious of only keeping things I already have a plan for, but I’ve also been motivated to start projects with the supplies I have!

    Congratulations on 7 years!

  196. I found your blog through Pinterest thanks to the 52 Weeks of Organization series. I’ve been slowly but surely checking things from there off of my list, and it’s been fabulous! I subscribe through my RSS feed, and I love what you post. Thank you for your dedication!

  197. I love looking through your storage solutions when I am starting on a new project. It’s hard to pick one favorite!!

  198. 1 year ago our 4 month old baby was sick with RSV in intensive care for 10 days. I was searching the internet one afternoon for a way to organize all this paper work we were getting and came across your website. Ever since then I have been following you on facebook, pintrest, and opensky. Your tips from Menu planning to creating a command center, to organizing kids toys have really helped our families life! Since that illness, our son was found to have a permanent muscle disease, so we are making frequent doctor visits. I have quit working to care for him and our 2 other children that are 5 and 3. As you can imagine life gets quite crazy with a 5, 3, and 18 month old! Thanks to you, our family’s life is organized! At every doctor visit we go to, people comment on my tabbed binder full of medical information and they are shocked how I keep organized! The menu planning has been a huge life saver too! At night once the kids are sleeping, I am reading your posts and excited to plan my next organizing project….you’ve turned me into a JUNKIE too! Thanks for all your great tips and inspiration in our family’s life!!

  199. Forgot to mention….you’ve helped my 5 yr old daughter become a JUNKIE too! Last night when picking up before bed, we were just tossing her play kitchen food into a labeled bin (i thought was organized!) and she said to me “no mom, lets organize this food nicely on the shelves”! Thanks again for helping teach my kids the skills to follow them throughout their life!

  200. I read every post you write, so coming up with a favorite is really tough. I do use a modified version of your grocery list every week, so I use that is the pick. Congrats on 7 years! Here’s to 7 X 70 more!

  201. You inspired me to create a command center! On replace to drop all those papers and its pretty. Yay! Happy anniversary!

  202. Congrats Laura! I have always loved your site, it was an inspiration to me when I first started blogging and I thought I’d died and gone to blog heaven when you let me guest post a couple years ago (when I was still a newby).

    Here’s to 7 more years!!!! 🙂

  203. The command strips post. I love command strips! It was nice to know that I’m not alone in being completely bonkers about them.

  204. I love reading various things on your blog. 12 steps to organizing, etc. I am finally organizing my craft/scrapbook/sew room. What a chore. I love the before and after photos to keep me motivated.
Congrats on 7 years and more.

  205. Hey Laura,

I love all the posts where it talks about how kooky you are. That is the person I know and Love. Like the hairspray post 🙂 Congrats on the milestone!!

  206. I have to say I really enjoy most everything on your blog! I only discovered it a few weeks back but I’m loving it! I love the box it up posts b/c those are mini organizing projects that really help with almost anything!

  207. I love the 12 items for every guest room post! I frequently find myself without a trash can or mirror when I visit people so it’s nice to have a list of items guests would definitely appreciate!

  208. I love the monday menu plans. It always reminds me to start the week fresh, and to set up my own menu for the week.
    Congrats on 7 years blogging!
    Nicola

  209. Congratulations on 7 years!!! I am a huge fan of your blog. The post that really helped me was the 12 items for the guest room. I recently did a overhaul in mine and boy what a difference!

  210. I really appreciate the meal planning that you do every week . . . I’ve made several recipes that you suggested (and particularly the ones you “highlight” for the week that went well). Most areas in my life are fairly organized (I’m a junkie like yourself) . . . but my meal planning could use a major overhaul! Thanks for you blog . . . read every post! :o)

  211. Creating Pantry Storage for Homemade Pantry Staples gave me some great ideas for storing things in my cabinets (no pantry), it looks great!

Also, I am absolutely loving the “In a Box” series. I am going to make the party one, and also the mani/pedi. I’m going to make the mani/pedi for my mom who is in the hospital today having a mastectomy done. She’s going to need a bit of a pick-me-up in the next couple days.

  212. I love your post “home is not my stuff”. My favorite quote is “Home is wherever they are”. It’s so true. When if comes down to it Home is where your family is. Thanks for reminding me of that!!!!!!

  213. There are so many! The one post about how to make decisions, I absolutely hate making decisions. I stress out and stress out more over stressing out and the one about apologizing. I’m guilty of doing that quite a lot. Anyway that’s great of you that you’re doing a giveaway.

  214. Congratulations! Blogging is hard work and you do a great job! I love the 52 Weeks of Organizing challenge. When I look at everything in my house that needs organized, I freak out. But, when I think about doing a project a week, it feels doable. I also love all the photos you post. I’m very visual and get a better idea of who to do things when I can see pictures of it. I get lots of great ideas from you. Thanks!

  215. Congratulations on 7 years of blogging! Thanks for the opportunity to win a $100 Target card!

  216. Happy anniversary to you! 7 years, wow! I am new to your blog, and am so excited to have so much new content to read! I also liked your facebook page! Congrats, again!

  217. How to Get Organized…the process one was a great start for me… Thank you for sharing your passion with us!

  218. I love the post you talk about you basket addiction! The mini organizing post have helped me immensely, they help me break down what are big task into more manageable task. Thank you for all the post & I look forward to reading many, many more.

  219. I love the aha moments that I have when reading your blog, like the scarf organizing post. I read it and think, wait, I could use that for tights too! Yeah, you probably already realized that, but it was a big deal for me.

  220. I just found your website. I love the idea of the grocery list with envelope! How easy is that?

Congratulations on 7 successful years of Blogging! So happy for you and looking forward to reading your Blog from now on!

    Thanks

  221. I love EVERY menu plan Monday – without you, dinner would never make it to the table!!!

  222. I’ve been enjoying the complete open love of all things organizing and related items (“toys”) without guilt of overdoing it, etc. etc. As someone with ADD who gets fascinated and excited by new plans, I’m also guilty of clutter. The first article I found of yours was the before and after article about your home office, which I’ve taken to heart, especially, since I’ll be moving soon and trying to set a home office for myself. Thank you for all the great tips and great finds (products/methods)!

  223. Congrats on 7 years! My fav is “getting organized”. I needed a push start!!!

  224. I’ve loved watching your videos… and I love it when you spill about a hoarding problem (baskets) or messes. I also enjoy your menu plan Monday posts. I have gotten lots of good menu ideas from them. Thanks!

  225. I liked your basket post. It made me feel good about mine and how I put them to good use in my house.

  226. I love your PROCESS post and all the related posts. Also your Great Garage Cleanout challenge from last spring. It was the first challenge I entered and my garage was the first BIG organizing project I tackled on my blog. I love the way you make organizing simple for your readers and how you help them not feel overwhelmed at the thought of organizing. Thank you for being real and for all your amazing organizing tips! Congratulations on 7 years of blogging!!

  227. I would say the 52 weeks of organizing helped me alot…still have my list. Am still keeping myself in tune with downsizing and purging. You have helped me alot! Thanks for the giveaway. I’d love to win but doesn’t everybody else as well? Hugs! I enjoy blogging myself. And baskets! :0>

  228. Congrats! Love your meal planning. Before, I would be driving home from work trying to figure out what it’s was my family and I would have for dinner. You motivated me to do the same and now life is so much easier!

  229. Your chore charts drew me in. The 52 week Challenge is, well, challenging…but soooo helpful!!
    Thanks!!

  230. Your post that talked about getting rid of clothing helped me the most. I had had a baby about 8 months earlier and for the most part, was back in my regular clothes – but I hated everything in my closet and how I looked in it. No, I didn’t purge everything but I really considered which things I was on the fence about before I even had the baby and was able to make room in my closet for things that looked good on my “New Mom Shape”

  231. Hi I love the blog about purging the closet! Also making lists really helps me stay on track! Thanks for all of the help! I would love to win the Target gift card! Pick me! Pick me! 🙂

  232. Your “Face the Facts” post is the one that always pops up in my head when I’m reluctant to part with something. In fact, I can here to re-read it and stumbled on the anniversary post. Thank you for the all the guidance.

  233. I love your command center post it has motivated me to get things organized for my family. Thanks.

  234. Love your menu Monday posts especially when you highlight a favorite from the prior week. I remember feeling touched by one of your posts when you were moving or had moved and you spoke of your friendships …

  235. i am a new mom, and wife. i have a six month old little boy, and my husband is in the military, goes to school full time, and has an internship, all while i work all hours of the day, at my full time job. I always feel like I’m running around with my head cut off. well shortly after finding this site i read your post on your “money binder” and it has helped soo much along with your blog about the day keeper. i now feel like i can manage it all no matter what pops up.

Thank you for saving my sanity.
    LeeAnn

  236. I like to read the posts where you remind us that organizing once won’t be enough. When the process is no longer working, a change must be made! It helps me remember that it’s not failure when something stops working… it’s just change.

  237. You have inspired and motivated with pretty much every post! Probably the most influential post of yours has been the post about the PROCCESS. This was trulh life changing for me and has helped me get started and get through so many of my organizing projects. Thank you for all of your years of inspiring others!

  238. I have the PROCESS post printed out and hanging on my wall. I have to say your blog has helped me more than anything else I have ever read.My Husband laughs about all my basket’s because I simply cannot stop myself from buying them.

  239. I love all the challenges you host. Such an inspiration to see lots of folks getting organized! And when you revised the quote from William Morris to include “…and have room to store.” it really made an impression on me.

Blessings on 7 years and being able to be home with your kids!

  240. I came over when I was searching for meal plan ideas. I’ve since browsed and loved everything about this entire site!

  241. Your Declutter Questions have helped so much! I am a packrat and I love all sorts of tchotchkes so I need all the help I can get!

  242. The 52-week challenge from a few years ago helped me stay on course throughout the year. My house isn’t perfect but it is getting better every day. Also, I like reading your weekly menus with simple recipes.

  243. I love the menu planning Mondays when I can’t think of what to make for dinner!

  244. There have been all many helpful posts, but the one that has impacted me the most is the one where you had to choose between two dip plates. I’ve been a pack rat my entire life and you are helping me come out of that.

  245. I absolutely love your lists and the Command Center post. I need a better one and have been using yours as inspiration. Happy Anniversary!

  246. The paper pile post is th e most challenging for me – thank you! Happy blogging birthday!

  247. I definitely got a lot out of the Clothes Purging post. I’m a clothes hoarder and only got worse after pregnancy, not letting go of all the pre=pregnancy clothes that didnt work anymore.

  248. I love your post on 3M Hooks – I LOVE them too and use them all over the house! My favorite is for calendars on the back of doors and to hang our Christmas stockings on the mantle. Congrats on 7 years!!

  249. I love your post about teaching children responsibility! I too firmly believe that every member of the family has something to contribute to the well being of their family & home. I often wonder if I am old school (being raised by my grandparents) because my kids friends do not have chores or responsibility. I believe it builds character, structure, concern for themselves and others. Thank you for sharing, now I know I’m not alone in these beliefs!

  250. I loved your clutter jail post. We have the same issues with Pokemon cards in our house.

  251. I love your command hook blog that you wrote not long ago! I look at them EVERY time I’m in WalMart or Target! I love hooks and dreaming of the next thing I can use them for….

  252. HAPPY BLOGAVERSARY!… I love the command hook post.. good to know I am not the only obsessed one! 🙂

  253. I love all your posts. But especially when you show how to either use dollar store items to organize or repurpose stuff. Thanks for all you do and I hope you have many more anniversaries!

  254. My favorite is ‘We are not our children’s slaves’! Happy 7 years of blogging to you! 🙂

    ~Erin

  255. I’ve been following you for several years and can’t possibly pull one as a favorite. I have gotten many great ideas and implemented some and passed along some. I love organizing and getting new ideas. Thanks and Congratulations!

  256. Love love love your website there is so much I have learned from you. You are helping making my life stress free

  257. I enjoyed staycation in a budget. With a sick child and a lot of medical bills I look for family time activities that don’t cost a lot out of pocket but still are fun to do as a family.

  258. “Home is not my stuff”, got me thinking. I never want to lose my loved ones, I’ll take them over stuff any day.

  259. I honestly can’t pick just one! I am a fairly new subscriber to your FB page & just think all of your ideas are realistic & exciting to put into use!

  260. My husband says that my “paper piling” is an inheridited trait! Lol my grandma does it, my mom does it and I do it. Well used to. Then thanks to u and paper piles off the counter, I am breaking the cycle. I don’t comment often but love ur blog and as been so useful

  261. Your Command post really inspires me! With a 4 year old entering preschool and us working full time this is going to be a must do for us. Happy 7 years!!

  262. The post about doing each child’s laundry so there isn’t any sorting required. Thank you!

  263. I have been hooked for years but what first ‘got me’ was a post with pics of aisles of baskets at the discount/dollar store. Love. I knew then that you had many things to teach me. 🙂 Congrats on the anniversary and thanks for the giveaway chances!

  264. I just love to read everything!I have really been working on getting my house organized and purging as much as possible. My mom used to get rid of everything and I think that made me hoard stuff but now that I have to keep it all clean I say forget it! I purge and love to organize..now if only my family would do the same.

  265. I’m working on my command center now! After years of drowning under piles of paper clutter I finally have a starting place and a plan of action…thank you!

  266. The first time I read one of your posts it inspired me to really get down to menu planning. But my favorite post was the Fridge Coasters giveaway because I won! Every time I open my fridge I think of you!

  267. I love all the ideas you gave in your “Create a Command Center” post, and I love the PROCESS method too! Both things I have referred back to a lot after pinning them.

  268. So many of your posts have been helpful. But the Menu Plan Monday has been a great help in my home. It gives me that added boost to plan out my families meals to make sure that we are eating within our budget and healthily.

Thank you for all your help and your giveaway.

  269. My fav is “organizing your closet with canvas bin.” This is my next major project!!

  270. I liked How To Organize. I never thought to start with a clean slate although it seems so simple. I used to just end up moving stuff around, get frustrated and walk away.

  271. Organizing makes you feel so clean and light~ calm , happy and energenic! I love all your organizing ideas, especially… organizing offices, using shoe organizers, DIY gifts, and organizing christmas ++!! It makes you love your home so much more… and then in return everyone loves you more! Thanks Laura

  272. I don’t think I could pick one post, but instead I think you are great at sharing the everyday, ongoing process that organizing really is – that is what makes it real (and helpful)! Congrats on your blogiversary

  273. First I want to start off by thanking you for opening your home and your life to us! When my husband and I moved into our first place together (a very small apartment) the main thing I struggled with was trying to make room for both of our belongings. I found your blog shortly after moving in and felt like you were speaking to me!! Every day I was on there looking for more fun and new ideas. 1 year later it all looks so perfect and beautiful thanks to your wonderful advice! The one I have found most helpful for us is “Parting with your clothes” and “are you burdened by your stuff?” We tend to hold onto things we don’t need and your blogs made it easier to part with “that junk”. I look forward to seeing more from you!! (P.S. I really enjoy your YouTube videos)

  274. Wow, 7 years! Happy anniversary! Any of your posts regarding organizing kids spaces are my favorites. My closets are my next focus, once we get our move behind us! My kids are normally messy, I am normally neat (obsessive according to them) so your organizing ideas are wonderful when I can show them pictures! Thanks so much for all your projects, gives me authority in their eyes! Keep blogging!

  275. Loved the recent post by a guest contributor about garage toy organization. It really motivated me to get my garage cleaned up and organized for the summer!

  276. My favorite blog was Plan B. I always grew up thinking there was only one way to do everything and it was always Plan A. After reading your blog about Plan B, I now realize I can have more than one plan and don’t stress so much. Thank You, Thank You! Keep up the great blogging!

  277. 7 years!!! wow. Congrats!!!

My favorite posts are all under the How to organize–especially the PROCESS and purging one

    Ruth

  278. How To Make Weekly Household Purges Happen, Oct 2012 is perhaps your most helpful blog for me. I have a lot of stuff!!! and needed to seriously start purging. I am widdling away, maybe not as fast as I would like, but you give great advice and I have made a dent. I have followed you over 2 years now and love your blog!

  279. Getting your paper off the counter…only i need to heed your advise all the time just not when it gets out of control…like today.

  280. Hi! I just wanted you to know that I really appreciate the realistic approach you take to day-to-day household organization. The organizing magazines just make it all seem so hopelessly unable to achieve. Your suggestions are things that I can handle usually on my own and are relatively easy to maintain. Very realistic for our family’s busy lifestyle. Congratulations on seven great years and thank you!!

  281. The one about your big girl office space, I’m trying to create this as well!

  282. It’s nearly impossible to choose just one. However, I think the one that has saved me a considerable amount of time is not having to sort laundry anymore. I pass that info on to everyone that complains about laundry. Such a huge time saver. I have a toddler and anyone that has ever had a child knows you don’t have a lot of spare time when you have little ones in the house. 😉

I also have your book. I just love organizing and this blog gives me such great ideas! THANK YOU and CONGRATS on 7 YEARS of blogging!!!!

  283. When you say “Simplify” that helps the most because that is my goal. I love to organize too, but get bogged down if I have too much to organize. You’re giving me permission to “Let go”!

    Thank you & congratulations!

  284. For me, my favorite post is the command center. It got me thinking on how to accommodate that in my home. The side of my fridge is the first thing you see entering my kitchen, so I am using that spot to place a 3 month wipe-off calendar, chore charts for the kids, daily/weekly schedules and other important info. This has been a lifesaver. Thanks for the inspiration!

  285. You have no idea how much I could use that… I am so disorganized, everytime I start to get straightened out… I have a set back. 🙁

  286. I need to re-read how to get organized. I’m not a natural organizer but want to be organized desperately! 🙂

  287. Your blog post called 12 things your guest room needs really helped make our Christmas wonderful. We have 7 relatives who travel and come and spend the holidays with us. I used your blog post to direct me in the necessities I would need to set up 4 comfortable guest rooms in our home. All of our guests loved the little baskets with snacks and toiletries! They had everything they needed to make them feel at home. Thank you so much for all you do to help us keep the chaos at bay and to give our family and friends a welcoming place to live and visit.

  288. I love your blog so much! I would be really hard pressed to pick just ONE favorite. I really like how to have it laid out so it is easy for ANYONE to begin. I also like the 52 weeks and menu planning….I really could go ON AND ON!!!

  289. My favorite post is 8 Things To Do When You Are Feeling Frazzled! So helpful to stay calm when facing a big cleaning/organizing situation, especially after a move!

  290. I love all your fun tips on organization, especially the clear command strips a little while ago. Thank you

  291. Congratulations on 7 years! Wishing you many more because I am just getting started on the organizing journey. My house really needs you.

  292. The fact that you are as obsessed with being organised as I am – it helps when my family think I’m crazy knowing that there is another just like me!!!

  293. I love the 52 weeks if organization series the most. I’ve found that I make a list of 52 things and get them done within a few months so I start again. I also love all office organization and school supply products! Thank you for your awesomeness!

  294. Basket uses!!! I have a ton and truly “use” them too! I’ve made a lot of “ooooh” sounds reading your blogs. Here’s to another successful 7+ blogging years! Thank you!!!

  295. I love your blog. I don’t have a specific although I recently read your info about organizing the car. I’d love to read one on how to teach a husband to organize and get him to take initiative in organizing!

  296. Clothes and purge. I now adhere to strict item in item out policy. Oh and if it hasn’t been worn in a year away it goes.

  297. I love your page, i especially enjoyed the list of what every guest needs, last time we had guest, it was so much fun making a snack basket! Loved the ideas!

  298. I loved when you talked about purging. I have been on a 2 year purge, selling most of my possessions on ebay to pay the rent and bills since I lost my job. It is a long process because I had so much stuff, and I need to make money from it, and not just donate (although I do donate what doesn’t sell). Your 52 week organizing challenge also kept me motivated. That was the first year I started selling. Your site is a great resource for many different aspects of clutter control. I used to be the queen of the packrats and a big shopper and now I have sold more than 1000 of my own personal possessions on ebay, plus countless more items in yards sales (although stupid landlord stopped those) and donations are gone as well. Believe it or not, I still have more stuff to get rid of. Thanks for the help, you don’t realize sometimes the people you touch with your site. I am happy to be one of them.

  299. I read your article about creating a command centre. I have made a start at it. I have very little wall space so I opted for using hanging file folders. So far, I’m the only one putting the papers is the folders, leaving a pile of papers (still!). : ( I’m debating on upgrading to the new Martha Stewarts wall system with mail trays for everyone. It’s a work in progress!

  300. I cant pinpoint a favourite, but I have a nosy around your page as often as I can!

  301. I’ve found a lot of your posts helpful, but your post Face the Facts to DeClutter really has me rethinking some of the ‘junk’ in my house. I’m a 3rd generation pack rat, and I’m trying to overcome that. I’m planning to use this summer to really de-clutter…and I know it’s going to help me to face the facts as I do that. THANK YOU!

  302. want to get started. thank you for so many ideas. I hope to start Process this week. God bless your energy and desire to help others.

  303. I just read your latest post about organizing for a road trip with kids. I loved the packing list idea! I have printable packing lists for my whole family, but hadn’t thought to make one my 5 year old could use by herself!

  304. I don’t recall the name or date of the post….. but it was bout making a “short list” every day, instead of mile long… will never get finished…. list! 🙂 Thanks!

  305. I have used your PROCESS steps a million times in order to get myself organize! I love the steps! So helpful!

  306. The post of “building the home command center”. I have total ADHD, and I am so distractable that I come home, open the mail -read it over some-and drop it on the kitchen table. Getting organized and building a center was so helpful. It is a process though and I am now going through and making a emergency preparedness book to add to it with credit card info, vet shot record info, emergency numbers, hotel information medications, doctors etc.

  307. Congratulations on 7 years! I enjoy your blog as a whole, not sure I could pinpoint one post. But I do particularly enjoy the posts on containers. I have an addiction, you have some pretty great ideas! Thanks!

  308. Love 52 weeks of organizing! Had to buy Clutter Rehab and its an excellent way to get me motivated when I am feeling lazy! Congrats!!

  309. I am moving out of apt life finally and into my first home. Im so humbled and happy. Its costing quite a bit for me to upgrade my life like this and I found your moving tips section to be more than helpful… It actually made me feel like I can do this and I could exhale a little easier. Thank you.

Love the plastic bins that go vertical. I will be getting some of those as soon as I can!

  310. The post reviewing different closet systems was interesting, and what really touched me was your honesty and commitment to your readers- you only accepted systems to review which were affordable and you felt you would recommend.

  311. Congrats on 7 years blogging! My favorite post had all the wonderful suggestions on organizing on the cheap and had the great picture of you in your Dollar Store next to all their glorious baskets and bins! I have constantly been on the basket/bin hunt at my store ever since! 🙂

  312. Congrats on the 7 years of blogging. How awesome is that? Your post on If It Bothers You Change It. This was one of the posts that have truly changed my life. Thank you for the amazing giveaway and for all the work you do to keep your readers informed.

  313. Hello, there! Congrats on your seven years! I’ve been at it for a little over four years and I love this forum! There are so many of your posts which have been helpful or inspiring. The post about your son’s closet is important to me right now, as I’m about to work in my 9-year-old’s room. Your recent post about planning for a road trip with kids is very timely for me, too. Congrats on seven really giving years and here’s to many more!

    Warmly,
    Sara

    Hey, I Love Your Bag!

  314. Congrats on 7 years! =)

My favorite posts are the Menu Planning posts. So helpful! Thanks =)

  315. I liked the “laundry system that changed my life” post the best. I feel like I am always & forever doing laundry!

  316. I LOVED the post about letting go of stuff. I’m ALWAYS trying to get “certain” people in my family to let things go…it’s a tough subject, but I enjoyed your tips.

  317. I love the Org Junkie’s xx Day Organizational Challenges. Even if I don’t take part online it is great to print out the calender and fill it in, with a little project each time.
    Thanks for all.

  318. I love the fact that you are ALWAYS encouraging us to START ~ Take little steps and just make some progress. You always have a “can do” additude and it is contagious. Keep up the great work. Love your blog!

  319. MPM is by far my favorite thing on your blog because I use it weekly to get ideas from you, from the other bloggers who link up and share my own menu plan each week! Thank you and congrats on your anniversary! BTW, if I need to get organized more I know your blog is the go-to spot!

    SusieQTpies

  320. Definitely Menu Plan Monday! That’s how I wound up here and why I’ve stayed! But I do enjoy the other tips as well, it’s a great site! Thank you and congrats on 7 years!

  321. My favorite thing about your blog is definitely the Menu Plan Monday. I LOVE it, and get so many great ideas! I love that you feature a favorite recipe from the previous week, too. It’s always something I want to try out after seeing it!

  322. Wow! Seven years of sharing your expertise to help the rest of us. THANK YOU!! It’s because of your blog that I’ve discovered so many organizing tips and tricks — as well as other blogs that have provided so. much. info. I’ve found resources I never knew existed. You rock!

My favorite posts are the Menu Plan Monday link-ups. I know I haven’t linked in a while, but through your menus, and those links, I’ve learned so much. Congrats, and thanks again.

  323. I just recently found your blog due to the Menu Plan Monday feature. So that is my favorite. I really need organizing help though, so I am looking around and trying ideas out.

  324. I love the Command Center post – I’ve gotten a lot more organized over the years, but papers are still my nemesis! I also love MPM and have found a lot of other interesting blogs through those weekly roundups. And I would LOVE to win the Target gift card, because tomorrow is my birthday 🙂

  325. How to get those piles of paper off the counter is the MOST helpful post for me! Its my biggest struggle in getting organized

  326. Love, love, love your website! (I figured I would go comma crazy to make you feel better about all your “dots”! It is too hard to pick one favorite post, but I really enjoy the 52 weeks series, planning menu, making the guest room organized and cozy, … there I go again with commas! Let me leave it with “i love your blog” – period- just one .

  327. This sight in general has been extremely motivating for me. And at just the time that I need it! I’m only a few weeks away from the birth of my fourth child and while we loved this house when we bought it, it is getting increasingly smaller! My only solution is to get it as organized as possible! Not easy with three kids (Including a toddler that’s like a little tornado!) and a pregnancy that’s not gone so well rendering me frustrated and helpless at times. Anyway, menu plan Monday has been great for me. I’ve been making a menu for a really long time but it’s helped a lot to have lots of new things available and many of them very quick to make! I would say that and the Command hooks have been the most helpful for me and what I’ve actually put into action. I’ve always had small command hooks that I’ve used for Christmas lights. I don’t know why but it had never occurred to me to use them for anything else…. I decided to get some different sizes and although I was all ready to order them from Amazon, I happened to see them at my local Kmart that’s closing. All packages are 50% off!! I bought several packages and plan to go back and get more. And, I’ve already put some of them to use! I put some up in a blank area of my bedroom wall that’s never used for anything, to hang the two purses that I use the most. The rest stay in my closet, but having those two available but out of the way has been a major blessing! i also plan to use the little ones on another place on my wall for my jewelry! Something else I saw on this sight and can’t wait to do! But there are lots of other things I hope to put into action soon! And I have got lots of little spaces organized since I started reading here and it has helped a lot!! So… I guess my answer is that it’s all be helpful to me!! But at this point, menu plan Mon, and the command hooks tips are at the top of that list!

  328. There have been so many good posts that it’s hard to pick just one. I love reading about your family, pot lucks, and what’s going on in your life. I’m motivated to do more organizing which I hope to do once school is out. I just went to my blog and looked at my Menu Plan Monday category which has 149 posts in it. Wow! Thanks, Laura, for hosting MPM. 🙂

  329. I love the menus! It’s my favorite thing about Monday AM’s. Congrats on your anniversary!

  330. I read you everyday but am pretty new ( just since January) I’ve been making lists of the organizing projects I want to do since I have been on bed rest. My baby came last week and I have redone my pantry love it. I am now loving the meal plan Mondays as it has been helping my husband feed us while I am out of the game! Thanks for all the insight!

  331. I love any post on how to organize for baby or kids. Having 3 boys and a little girl on the way, I definitely need the tips. I have followed you for a couple years and I love your blog.

  332. Your PROCESS, for sure, is the post that has helped/influenced me the most. Along with that would be the challenges you hold. The areas I tackled as a result are STILL in good shape. Amazing! Thanks for being here, thanks for what you do.

  333. I really truly need and enjoy all of your posts! As a mom trying to run a household with 4 children and my husband being gone for the past 2 1/2 years (1 year deployed, 1 1/2 years so far in the Wounded Warrior unit), it has been extremely difficult regaining control of my house, laundry, chores, school and all the papers, events, and supplies it entails, extracurricular activities and all the equipment they entail, PLUS a schedule to make everything run smoothly…aaagh! It has been more than I can bear! But as I start to read more and get more ideas and a place to start from a blog like yours, I am slowly regaining my confidence that I CAN do this and I can get our home running smoothly again and hopefully in the amount time that it will be ready for the day my husband can finally come home and not have to try and find a place to fit in the chaos but to find HIS place comfortably back at HOME! : )

  334. I just recently found your site, but love the kids stuff basket organization for the garage. I’ve been trying to come up with something for our patio to control our 2 year old’s outdoor toy chaos and it worked perfectly. I even had a bunch of the same baskets in storage that we weren’t using. Bonus! Thank you! 🙂

  335. I am new to “Org Junkie” and I LOVE it! It has already been AMAZING in helping me undertake the usually daunting task of organizing. Now I find myself excited to begin working in “bite-sized” chunks around my home. I just ordered your Clutter Rehab book and can’t wait to dig in when it arrives. Thank you so much for blogging on this topic…hopefully in a few months, my hubby and children will be thanking you too!

  336. Laura, since there is absolutely no way to pick a favorite blog post of yours, I will comment on YOU. You come across as someone I’ve known always. Your wit and your humor and your human-ness are endearing.

I think that if we were neighbors, we would become inseparable!

Thanks for sharing your life with us.

  337. I’m a new reader but just like you, I love organizing! Congrats on your blogging and hoping for many more years!

So far, I’ve really liked Menu Plan Monday!

  338. I just loved your recent post about the Command hooks…OH MY Golly…ideas I never ever thought of, and I DID consider myself pretty sharp at thnking up ideas to use things. YOU WIN!!! Really helpful, thanks!

  339. Without a doubt, your menu plan monday. I don’t do it consistently, but read each and every page that people share so I can gather inspiration for my own menu planning! Thanks for surviving 7 years and here’s to many more!

  340. I just get inspired by all your organization posts with the favorite that I never miss is “Menu Plan Monday”

  341. your organizing basics post has helped me a lot! i’m horrible at organizing, i need all the help i can get!

  342. Menu Plan Monday is my favorite. so much help for a busy working woman. I have been trying to organize for years, but your site is the first that actually make me see it happening. Congrats on 7 years!

  343. I have been following your blog for a long time. Congratulations! I like your blog overall but I would say the posts I end read the most are the Menu Mondays

  344. Definitely loved the inexpensive closet organizer post. My closets are a catch all for everything so this post inspired me to get to work on them!

  345. I still love the first blog post that I read about making a command center. That’s what hit me started!!

  346. My favorite has been Menu Plan Mondays since 2007. I’ve met and made many blogger friends. It’s where I first heard of Pinterest, as well as, discovered new recipes over the years.

  347. The “Process.” What a great way to remember everything and focus on improvement, not perfection when you get started.

  348. I too like week of menus. I love seeing other people’s menus and recipes. I like how you also love containers. Thank you for all that you do!

  349. I have loved learning about the PROCESS of organizing. It has really helped me. I always felt like such a failure when it came to organizing. The PROCESS is so simple and has really helped me.

  350. Congrats on 7 years! My favorite post was when you re-organized your kitchen last year- it inspired me to make some changes that have really worked for our family. Thanks so much!

  351. Congratulations on 7 years!! 🙂

  352. Congrats Laura! It’s been so fun getting to know you and becoming friends! You’ve been a great inspiration and I believe you’ve kept your goal of passing on your passion very nicely!

  353. I still love MPM’s. I don’t link up anymore, as I’ve let my blogging lapse, but I read it faithfully and it really helps!

  354. Love the recipe lists that you include! I have been following your blog for a while. Thanks!

  355. Love any posts about baskets and great dollar store finds!! Love your blog, it’s helped me in numerous ways!! Thanks.

  356. Heading into summer, I want to get my kids’ chores schedules updated and organized. So I reallly enjoyed “Free Printable Responsibility Chore Charts”.

  357. it’s not just any single post, i love the print-outs you provide and just the fact that you make it seem so accessible makes me believe that some day i may have an organized house… aw, who am i kidding, i’d settle for one organized room! congrats on 7 years!
