Hello September, I don’t appreciate you sneaking up behind me and scaring me like that but well since your here now I’m going to try and appreciate you. Back to school means back to routine and cooler days mean new menu options. That’s all I’ve got for now 🙂
I’ve got to tell you that one of the things I was looking forward to with moving was living somewhere where I didn’t know anyone. I know that sounds strange but I lived in the same small town where everybody knows everybody for 37 years! What I didn’t anticipate was that I more than like it, I absolutely love it! My girlfriends say I won’t be able to hold out for long but hmmm I don’t know about that. I think I’m going to savor this hermit thing for a little while longer 🙂
The winners of last week’s Better Breakfast ebook giveaway are:

#69 Rachel
#140 Becky
I didn’t end up making the Bacon & Cheese Muffins until yesterday. In fact we had them for supper with some not homemade soup. Delicious! And my very picky drives his mother crazy with it four year old son gobbled them up. Yahoo!!
So I’m sorry some of you were having trouble with the linky last week. I’m really not sure why it works for so many and then not for some. I have an email into the inlinkz owner and hopefully we can resolve this. If you have trouble this week let me know in the comments. Thanks!
Okay I can’t go any further without telling you about the wonders of the One-Pot Spaghetti. Have you tried it yet? You’ve got to. The entire meal made in one pot, my favorite kind to make. Hola! I added some diced red peppers as well because if you’re going to do a casserole type dish you might as well make it an entire meal. It was really good.
Here is what we’ll be eating this week:
Monday: Italian Sausage and Potato Roast
Tuesday: Tangy BBQ ‘Samich’
Wednesday: Thai Chicken Pasta
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Pizza with dough from the bread machine
Saturday: Brown Bag Burritos
Sunday: Tortellini-Shrimp Caesar Salad
WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?

Don’t forget the giveaway for the Reluctant Entertainer book ends Tuesday, Sept. 7th at 4:00 pm PST.

I used to make pizza dough in my bread machine all of the time. Then the machine wore out and I haven’t had the extra cash to replace it. I now make it with my Kitchen Aid Mixer almost all of the time. It was still easier in the bread machine. Thanks for hosting!
Meal Plan Mom (Brenda) says
Hi Rita,
My MIL volunteers in a thrift shop and she says she sees bread machines come in all the time. She bought one for something like $5 one time. You might check some local thrift shops in your area for one. I ALWAYS make my pizza dough in my bread machine too…I agree…it is soooo much easier!
The Happy Housewife says

Laura, I didn’t have any trouble with the linky this week so it must be fixed. I have a PC, so it may have been PC’s that were having a problem.
Your muffins look so good! Wish I had a couple of them right now. 🙂
Aris says
Hi Charla!
This is Aris from InLinkz. Actually last week’s inability to link was not an InLinkz issue. To add a link, InLinkz does a search for images and urls and if one of them is sloow, then the whole link insertion process gets slowed down. For example, if picassaweb (where most people store their photos) was having issues, then linking up would be impossible.
If you ever have difficulties linking up, you can contact me directly at info [at] inlinkz [dot] com. I would be more than happy to take it step by step and see what the problem is.
Cheers!
Aris, InLinkz.com
PS. Having a PC is no different that having a mac. If the network is slow, both appear sluggish 🙂

Your Menu Plan looks great! Thanks for linking to my Italian Sausage Recipe! Can’t wait to try those muffins!

My family and I just love muffins. I just need to purchase a muffin tin so I can stop buying muffins at the store.
Laura says
They are so easy to do and often I’ll break the rules and use only one bowl…gasp! 🙂

I’m so excited about my Breakfast ebook!! 🙂 Thanks for hosting the giveaway, Laura!

Just following up on last week–I was able to post earlier today (thank you holiday!) and it didn’t take nearly as long (#80-something instead of almost 300). BUT the blue frog still loads last. If there’s any way to program the blue frog to come up before all those pictures load–I think that would help a lot!
Aris says
Hi MemeGRL,
The speed with which the pictures are loaded is based on the connection you have. From the server, all images are readily available as soon as the text of the collection appears. Then it is up to your connection and your browser to handle the traffic.
Cheers!

I made your bacon/cheddar muffins last week with Breakfast sausage(sliced thinly) & cheddar and it was delish.
I also made them with bacon-also, delish.
*I’m so itching, tweaking..kidding, but really wishing & praying that we too could move away where “no-one knows your name”. (Maybe at mortgage renewal). Living in the same place forever inspires one to see new pastures.
: ) Enjoy your fresh start. That’s gotta be invigorating!
Laura says
I really am enjoying it Andrea…it’s sooo different for us although I’m sure the novelty will wear off eventually. I’m such a homebody so for now it’s really working 🙂
Sandra says
Hey .. I am so making those muffins tomorrow .. can’t wait .. my question is how many muffins does this recipe make? didn’t see that in the instructions.
Thanks!
Sandra 😀
Laura says
It makes 12 regular muffins. I’m going to go back and update the recipe. Thanks!
Sandra says
cool thanks! 🙂
Elisa says
Ok…lady…you’re crazy! We are military, so I never know people in my town. It takes a while to make close friends you can count on. BUT, I can see your point. It must be kind of fun walking down the street without you knowing everybody and them already knowing everything about you.
PS: I’ve been loving this column. I’m just getting the hang of menu planning…I’m still not organized enough for it, but baby steps! I’m getting there. One day, I’ll be organized enough to post my linky. Until then I just look at all the recipes and drool…..yummm.
Laura says
I love not having any expectations of me that is for sure but of course that will all change with the kids back in school. That’s awesome about the menu planning…yes baby steps is the way to do it!! Way to go!!
Mary Ann says
Thanks for hosting again this week! Those muffins look yummy.

Aris says
Hi Peta,
Could you please contact me at info [at] inlinkz [dot] com so we can work out your problem? Solving your problem may help other users too! (and there is still time to link up by yourself when we solve it).
(it usually is some over-eager antivirus program or some setting in your browser so do not despair 🙂
Cheers!
Aris
Megan says
Haha, have fun “hiding out”! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the new town!
Lara says
Hey, thanks for the link. I hope you enjoy the Thai Chicken Pasta! My husband was just asking when I was going to make it again…. 🙂

I had meant to add those bacon cheese muffins to my to-make list for this week but forgot about them until now! Thanks for the reminder…I know my kids will love them. I think they will make a good breakfast with a smoothie!
