The joint giveaway with Capessa for the $200.00 gift card from The Container Store is now over and was that ever a lot of fun! Thanks to everyone who entered, I really enjoyed reading all your comments.
I’ve been perusing The Container Store website myself dreaming about how I would spend the $200.00 if you know I happened to win, which I totally know would go against all sorts of rules (whatever!), and finding many beautiful things I could easily drop plenty of $$$$ on. What can I say it’s been a looong winter and I’m so going through container withdrawal! Here are some of the things I’ve been drooling over looking at and would definitely be buying if a $200.00 gift card was to fall from the sky into my lap today 🙂
Food Storage Organizer. This doesn’t look like much in this picture but check out the picture and purge my friend Leigh Anne posted a couple of days ago…lovely!
Two Drawer Organizer for underneath my bathroom sink.
Shelf Dividers for my linen closet
Sock Cop Clips (need I say more?)
I’ve been wanting a few of these clear Recycling Bins for awhile now….for paper, beverage containers and cans.
These pretty file folders are just too cute not to have!
Okay and finally I think this Busy Box would be clever for toys, Christmas decorations or even craft supplies. I’m pretty sure I’d have no trouble figuring out some way to use it 🙂
Seriously I could do this all day! But alas I must come out of the dream and announce the real winner of this fun little contest. Will Tracy in NC (no blog) please stand up, you have just won yourself a shopping spree!!!
This is what Tracy shared with us in her comment:
I love the suggestion to contain everything. I try to have a place for everything but having a container too would make such a difference. I liked your idea of a Walk-About too. We do a slight variation of this now. When I would have everyone join in to pick up a room, the van, etc. I noticed that some of my boys never seemed to “see” the same stuff I saw. So, I started giving everyone a specific number of things to pick up. Often I’ll say something like “everyone pick up 5 things”. Now that I have a bigger spread of ages at my house, when we have a big job, I’ll say “everyone pick up your age”. That way I feel like my 16 year old and my 3 year old are a little more even matched.
Love your site!

Great tip Tracy! Thanks for playing along. For everyone else who didn’t win, try pretending you did. It’s fun! What would you buy if given the chance?

We have owned two of the busy boxes for about 3-4 years now and I couldn’t live without them. They hold lincoln logs, train tracks, puzzles, large legos, etc. They’re perfect!
I’m Jones’in for a monitor stand with drawer myself. But, that two drawer organizer is pretty nifty too!

Congrats tracy, I am jealous. I want those shelf dividers for my towels. I also love the sock clippys my daddy and I use to say that we were going to invent such a thing.

Yay for Tracy! And thanks, Laura, for posting some of the pictures of what you’d like to have. I love those file folders, and the clear recycling bins. I need those!!

Had to share, I picked up some shelf organizers today after reading this post at my local Dollar General that look very similar to the one’s you posted here but for $1. I got 3 to try and see if they’d help with my linens. You’d better bet that Monday’s Spring Cleaning project will be “organizing the linen closet”. It was already on my Spring Cleaning TO DO list. 🙂

Laura great ideas! You are amazing and I so enjoy all of your helpful ideas and heads up on where to purchase the organizing tools. Stop by and see me I have something for you on my site.
Have a blessed day.

Congrats Tracy…at least a fellow NCer won 😉
I love those shelf dividers for the linen closet!
The new to us house (we had to move because the city came in and stole our farm (eminent domain BS), so we moved here. This house is 3 stories, and has 5 linen closets on the 2nd floor but NONE on the first floor 🙁 I am disabled and cannot get to the 2nd or 3rd floor. So our linens are in my husband’s closet LOL He doesn’t need all that apace anyway 😉
As money comes along, I hope to be able to implement some of your ideas.

Just discovered your blog through biblical womanhood. I’ve really been enjoying it. I’ve never heard of the container store or sock cops before but decided that I really needed some. The shipping costs from the container store are quite high however sockcop.com has the same things for the same price and their shipping is much cheaper. If you order 3 packages ($24.99 / 60) then you get free shipping.
Just thought I would share that with anyone who was considering these.
For me, sock matching is tough as my DH is very particular and it has to be the exact mate of the sock!! LOL

Those sock clips are incredible. Finally something to stop the sock monster. 🙂 I love the container store they are great if you have small spaces because they have unusual sized items, ours was a laundry basket. I would buy all things to redo my closet.

The Container Store! I love, love it, and alas we dont have them here, but Texas does and that’s a pretty good reason to move there in my book.
