Prayer Request

I just finished reading Katrina’s lovely post over at Faith Lifts with regards to 1 Thessalonians 5:16:

Be joyful always.

Wow….that is a tough one and I immediately thought of my dear friend Annie whose husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor only a couple of days before Christmas. I spoke with Annie today by telephone and I’m in awe of her strength and her ability to find the joy even in an extremely difficult circumstance such as this. How a Dr. took the symptoms seriously enough to order a cat scan immediately, how a hospital bed became available many miles away from home but in a city where they would have family around for support, how Annie was recently laid off from work and now able to be with her husband for the 6-8 weeks they’ll be away from home while her husband undergoes treatment, the list goes on and on. Would I be able to be that joyful should I find myself in a similar situation? I don’t know for sure but like Katrina says in her post “we are not alone in this task” and that is a big relief! God is right there with Annie and her husband Ron providing the joy and peace they need in a place of darkness and for that I am extremely grateful. If you would be so kind to include Annie and Ron in your prayers I know it would really mean a lot to them….and to me.

Thank you.

  1. I’d be honored to pray for Annie and Ron. I have no idea if I could find the blessings she found. She must be a very strong person.

  2. I will definitely pray for them. I don’t know if I could be that strong. I know of a 3 month old baby who was also diagnosed with cancer the day before Christmas, I can’t imagine going through something like that, especially that time of year.

  3. Wow! I will definitely be keeping your friend and her husband in my prayers. Thanks for the gentle reminder to be “joyful”. =)

  4. I will definitely keep them in my prayers. When my step-dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer (this was years ago) my mom had just the month before taken her early retirement and she, too, was able to be with him until his last day. It is amazing the myserious ways in which God works in our lives. I will pray that he will be healed and that she will continue to be strong for him and find comfort in the Lord!
