Recipe Index Round-Up
I love finding recipes on blogs because they are usually ones that have been tried and come highly recommended. I love knowing someone else’s thoughts on a recipe. What makes it especially helpful to search through the recipes on your blog is a recipe index. Many of you have one and I so appreciate that you do. For those that aren’t sure what one is….it’s basically a collection of links on your site (on one page or post) to all your favorite recipes organized by food category. Think of it as an online recipe box 🙂
Today I’d like to invite you to link your recipe index page/post up to the linky list below and share it with all of us.
Please link up directly to a recipe index that is on ONE page or post and not to your recipe archives which lists multiple posts that need to be scrolled through to find a recipe. To get an idea of what I mean by ONE page please visit my own Family Favorites Recipe Index.
Please do not link to individual recipes, recipe indexes only please.
I’m going to be reviewing the links pretty diligently and will delete the ones that don’t comply with this. I want this to be a great resource of easy to access recipes to help people with their weekly menu planning. If you don’t have a recipe index I highly recommend creating one as it not only is a huge benefit to your readers but it also makes menu planning super easy if you have all your family favorites listed in one place.
If your recipes fall in a specific category like gluten free, vegetarian, low fat, simple, etc. please don’t hesitate to include that in your linky name to help people narrow their search.
This link up will be an ongoing post that can be added to anytime and can be accessed from my MPM tab above.
Thanks for sharing your recipes, I can’t wait to check them all out!!!

I love this! It is such a great resource, so thank you!
I had done it one other time but it was with the old linky and all my links disappeared. Oh well, this one will be more interesting to scroll through with the thumbnails.
Sorry you lost the last one. Thanks for doing another one!
I hope I did this right, let me know if it isn’t. I desperately need to UPDATE my recipe index so it’s not really complete. Thanks, I’ll save this page and come back often and check them all out, thanks!
Debbi that’s awesome, thank you for linking up!
What a wonderful idea, thanks for doing this!
Loving the pictures in your index, that’s awesome!
What a wonderful resource! Thank you!
Lara I love your site so much, thanks for linking up!
Thanks I am such a visual person, I just love having the pictures, though it does make it rather long, lol.
All the credit goes to Joy @ 5 J designs!
What a great idea!
I don’t have mine on one page yet but just as a related note, I discovered the Tastebook site and am compiling my recipes there and am hoping to get an actual cookbook printed with all of the recipes that I use most often!
I can’t wait to start perusing all these fabulous links! Thanks for doing this!
Thank you! Thank you! I don’t have a personal blog and just discovered your Family Favorites Index. I’ve already decided to try out a couple I found there, and now I’ll have one place to go and discover other’s indexes! My New Years Resolution to do weekly Menu Planning just got a little easier! Thank you!!!!
Thanks for doing this again! I created a recipe index shortly after you did the first round up and it has made menu planning and sharing recipes around the blogosphere so much easier. I can’t wait to check out everyone’s recipe indexes!
I don’t have them on a page but my “winner” recipes are all listed on my sidebar…should I link? Let me know…
Go ahead and link up but make sure to put in the name field that your links are on your right hand sidebar similar to how #10 did it. Thanks!
Looking forward to being inspired by others’ family-favourite-food lists!!!
This is great! I just started one, but have only done breakfast so far.
I will try to link up when I can take a day {sigh} and organize all my recipes into one link…ugh…is there an “easy” way to do this? lol
Hi Kim, just start a post in Blogger for recipe links that you love and then as you find the time link them as you can.
FINALLY got it…thank you Laura!
PS. Laura, I ALMOST posted my photo in the linky as the one I have of you (for my hairdresser:)…would have been too funny!!! LOL
I can’t wait to “shop” these new recipes. It will help with adding a new recipe once a week to my weekly menu. Thanks!
I’m with you, JC! What a wonderful resource! So much better than my cookbooks because we have very personal reviews right at our fingertips.
Ok, my FIRST EVER linky. Hope I did it right! 🙂 The three on my page are my absolute FAVORITE go to recipes!!
Just wanted to let you know #9 Meanest Momma when you click on it, it comes up not found.
Thanks Susan, not sure what happened there. It opened fine for me earlier and now it’s not working. I’ve asked her to add it again.
Laura,
I’m sorry, when I linked up, I started typing my blog address and it automatically finished it for me. It used my last link up address instead of my home page address. Could you delete it for me (#25), so I can re-add it?
Thanks!
Mrs. H.
No problem, I deleted it for you 🙂
Your link still wasn’t working so I re-added it for you but couldn’t find your original thumbnail pic you used. Sorry!
Thank you! Not sure what I was doing wrong! 🙂
I much apologize – I had the link wrong on my blog and couldn’t correct it. http://beckyperry.us/best/?cat=44
Hi Becky, I noticed that your link was only to your recipe archives. Do you have all your recipes linked in one post? That’s what we are looking for here. Thanks girl!
Thanks so much for this, such a great idea. I don’t know why but my thumbnails never show up on the links, I am 100% positive I am entering them correctly. So puzzling!
That is strange, I’m not sure.
Oh GOSH this is going to make menu planning so much easier! All my links are just in my bookmarks, so I don’t have any on my blog yet other than the receipes I’ve written there. This sure is going to make me get at it. Gotta start somewhere, right? Thanks for doing this, Laura!!
Great idea, Laura! Thanks.
Thanks for doing this. What a wonderful resource all in one place! Great idea!
This has been on my to do list forever. Any suggestions for what categories people like to see?
Wendy I would recommend creating your index with categories that work for you. Some organize by meal (ie: breakfast, main, etc) others organize by meat (ie: chicken, beef, etc). It’s totally what works for you 🙂
Hmmm! I don’t have my recipes all in one spot. That should be my next blogging project!! Thanks so much for the links! Angie xo
Thanks for this linky! It was great motivation to create a “recipes” page, which I’d been meaning to do . . . .
Can’t wait to browse through all of the tried-and-true recipes.
Hi ladies! Help! I have a Blogger blog (relatively new to this!) and I cannot for the LIFE of my figure out how to create an additional page for recipe links! Can you have mulitple pages on a blogger blog?! HELP!
Hi Christina, the easiest way in blogger is just to create a post and within that post link to your favorite recipes…they could be recipe links from your own site or to others. Does that help?
What a great idea.
Thank you!
What an awesome idea! This really makes it handy to find new recipes from all these wonderful blogs listed!! Thanks for hosting this 🙂
Great collection here! I added mine. I have it set up with categories and each category has a visual index so you can browse that way vs. just looking at a list of links and words.
Yours is one of the best, wow! I could spend hours on your site! Now just trying to narrow down which recipe to put on my menu this week 🙂
This is such a great idea, Laura! I’m going to bookmark this page and use it as a Menu Planning resource for the future! 🙂
Problem with links is that they disappear sometimes when the computer crashes. I think I’m going to print the recipes and make a recipe organizer box in the kitchen. But this is convenient. Haha! Thanks for the link! I love to cook!
Thank you for the encouragement to put my Recipe Index together! 🙂 It wasn’t that difficult actually, just a little time consuming! I LOVE to have it for my own use, and hope that it will be helpful to others also!
Thank you for continuing to be a huge help to all of us! 🙂
I linked up when you first posted this, but I don’t see my link anymore. Oh well, I added it again. Thanks for hosting this list!
Mmmm not sure what happened there, I’m glad you added it again. Thanks!
I’ve had tons of hits too since I originally linked up! Weird, but I’m glad I double checked.
Thanks for doing this! what a great idea! I hope mine is ok; the link goes to my main recipe page, with tabs to the various sections (appetizer, main, desserts, etc.)
Thank you for doing this, Laura! 🙂 I posted a link to this on Facebook, as well. 🙂
Mine is a little different. I’ve been hosting a blog hop called Tailgating Time at my food blog Seaside Simplicity. Mine is an index of the entire collection for the whole football season this year – all are InLinkz photo links to the recipes. The recipes added tomorrow for the final edition of Tailgating Time for the Super Bowl will automatically add to the bottom of the list. Everyone is invited come on over to play along 🙂
Thanks for this awesome link-up!
This is such a great idea! Thank you so much for the linky!
Happy New Year!
Jo-Anna
How fun! thanks for hosting!
This is FANTASTIC and such an awesome resource!! Just posted my recipe index! Thanks!
Hi Laura!
Wow! Recipes index, that is master organization!
I’m a bit of a mess, so I don’t have all my recipes so classified, nor even written most of them.
I do have visual and tag a system, however, just in case you are organizing curious. It’s not perfect, but more or less works for me.
1) Recipes I do, I upload to flickr and tag the ingredients. Sometimes I write the recipe too, but since I do simple stuff only the picture is enough to remember the recipe.
2) New recipes I see during the week want to try, I save on Pinterest or like on flickr, tumblr and instagram. They go automatically to tumblrs thanks to Ifttt.com
3) When I menu plan, I take a look at my tumblr try to incorporate new recipes, so cooking will be exciting and fun. Then I fill the blanks with old recipes from my flickr, searching for ingredients in season.
That’s all. I guess I’ll have to get some recipes index page when my proper blog gets more content. I’ll take a look now at the links and get some ideas for then. Thanks one more time for inspiring!
Is there a way to link to my recipes on Plan to Eat since that is where I keep my index? I’m fairly new to PTE so I wasn’t sure. User name: kaugomu
