Storage Star ~ Cubbies!

My Storage Star award this week goes to a very deserving mom.  I have always had a crush on the cubby.   It’s so efficient, don’t you think?  Square boxes lined up in row with so much potential.  Then don’t even get me started about cubbies with baskets!  So great!  Anyway when I saw Kayren’s before pictures of her homeschooling room on her blog, Everything’s Coming Up Daisies, I saw right past the clutter piled high on the floor due to her recent move.  Look at the back wall.   Do you see what I see?

I knew we were in for a treat and she didn’t disappoint.

These are the before pictures:

She did an amazing job organizing all of that into her Ikea cubbies but I’m not going to give it away here.  You’ll have to jump on over to Kayren’s site to see the after pictures.  It’s fantastic and who knew there were even desks under all that stuff.  And if I’m not mistaken I believe she even uses the pizza box storage trick on one of those shelves.

I know cubbies aren’t for everyone but because they go so high vertically they do maximize storage space in small areas wonderfully.

Well done Kayren!

Shoot, I love cubbies!! They hold so much, look great and keep things seperated. I am headed over to look at the finished product. :)

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Ikea cubbies! I have 3 sets of the big, bad boys in my house! (one in the playroom, one in my office, and one in our basement play area.) The one in my playroom has labeled baskets so it makes it easy for the kids to put their own things away. (Not that they always do, you know, but in theory…)

*Sigh* I used to have two of those Ikea cubbies too, before we moved to the US. We used them as room dividers/storage space. Our apartment was a square box and using these two shelving units we created a “separate” study.

I love Ikea. Ikea is my friend. :)

I have only been blogging 2 weeks. I have added you to as a favorite. I am an organizing junkie. I have yet to post something on organizing, as my topics are all over the place. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to reading more of your blogs. Blessings

My husband is making cubbies for our garage, which also serves as the main entrance to our house. We have large cubbies in our living room too. Love them! I especially like that things can be seen and out of reach for the little ones at the same time! Oh, and as military folk, it’s nice to have storage that can move with us and not attach to the wall. Can’t go wrong with cubbies!

I too love the cubbie system. I use some in my daughters closet, they are not as nice as Kayren’s but it works. I have a picture on my site. I forgot to take the disastrous before picture but I did post the after pic. I’m trying to be little more organized myself. ;-)
