I’ve got another great re-purposed item for you today. This just never gets old for me and I especially get tickled when I get comments saying “I have one of these in my garage and now I know what to do with it”. LOVE it, so cool! Amber from Bringing Good Home is such an inspiration. She has been on a mission to get her home organized and is even a previous winner of the 30 Day Organizational Challenge. You can see that winning post here.
The other day when I was looking at Amber’s Monthly Round-up Dining Room entry I noticed on her wall a great mail sorter so I emailed her to ask what it was (because I’m a freak like that LOL).
Turns out it’s a pot lid holder that Amber purchased at the Dollar Store. She uses it as part of her Command Center in her kitchen/dining room area as a mail sorter. Awesome! Amber recently tackled this area which you can find here.
Way to go Amber, enjoy your Storage Star!!

We’ve used pot-lid holders in the kids rooms, beside their beds, to hold magazines and books. This keeps them off the floor and from sliding off their nightstands.

That’s awesome!
And I love those pot lid holders for holding pot lids, too. Before we moved and I had no pot drawers in my old kitchen they were invaluable on the wall! Otherwise I could never find anything.
But I like this for sorting the mail, too.

I saw this on Amber’s blog once when she posted about it and I remember thinking, I need one of those for my pot lids!
I am still looking for one. (I have a mail sorter already.)

What a great idea!

I have a rack that sits in a big roasting pan that, ironically, I have “repurposed” as a lid rack!!

Interesting. Good thinking.

What a great idea! I love finding new uses for things, too. It’s much better than throwing something away because you don’t use it for what it was intended.

What an awesome idea! I’m going to pick one up the next time I’m at the dollar store! 🙂

Thanks, Laura!
Dawn – that’s actually what happened. I bought it for my pot lids, and then moved the pots and pans to a new spot where I couldn’t use the lid holder.
Later, when looking for way to organize incoming mail, and browsing my home for unused or infrequently used items that might work, I spied the pot rack and thought, “that’ll work!” 😛

Love it! It reminded me of a re-use I just came up with last week, as we’re reorganizing our kitchen: I have a beautiful napkin holder that my brother made, but we rarely use paper napkins, so I put my oven mitts in it, and they look adorable. And they’re still out of the way and accessible without me having to install hooks.
