"Ask the Freak" for a chance to win Organize magazine for a year!!!

If you are looking for Menu Plan Monday, it can be found here.

First of all a big thanks goes to Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer for hosting this little (ha!) blogging giveaway carnival!

I love love love giveaways and I’m soooo excited about this one. I’m all about creating “organizing junkies” everywhere and this definitely has the potential to do just that. Are you ready? I’m giving away not one but SIX one year subscriptions to the new ORGANIZE magazine!!!!

How cool is that! Organize Magazine is the first magazine dedicated solely to helping people tackle their organization needs. Readers will learn how to get organized in all areas of their lives: Home, Work, Time and Leisure. I’m still waiting on my first issue to come in the mail and I can hardly wait!

I was originally only going to giveaway one subscription but when I told the nice people over at the magazine what I wanted to do they graciously offered to include 5 more subscriptions for 5 more lucky winners! I am so excited that I almost attempted to breakdance but that would have just be wrong on so many levels so instead I ran around my dining room table doing what could only be called the funky giraffe…not to be confused with the funky chicken of course!

However, there is a catch….you didn’t think I was going to make this easy for you did you? As you know I’ll be going on vacation next week for a month. I want to continue blogging yet because I’ll be sitting around being lazy, and you know relaxing, I’m thinking I might need some help in the blogging topic department. So today in order to be entered into this little giveaway of mine you need to leave a comment AND:

ASK THE FREAK!!

Go ahead ask me anything although chances are good that if you are asking me anything deep and profound I’ll just get all baffled and confused and draw a blank. I can however give you clear instructions on how to run around a table looking like a funky giraffe so please go ahead and ask me that! Or, of course, an organizing question is always good too :) All I ask is that you keep it clean and nice folks and no I’m not telling you how much I weigh!

Five lucky winners will be chosen at random from all the comments left. The last winner will be chosen by ME strictly based on whose question I liked the most and thought was the most creative….he he….hey it’s my giveaway, I want to have some fun too!! LOL

You don’t have to have a blog to enter but please do leave me your email address with your comment. One comment/question per person, duplicates will be deleted. I will close comments at 12:01 pm Friday afternoon. The winners will be announced sometime after that.

Remember please leave a comment and “Ask the Freak” a question to be eligible for this giveaway. Have fun!!

Giveaway only open to those living in Canada or the US.

    Oh what a great prize!!!

I want to know if you will be able to curb those organizing juices while away on vacation…or will your hosts be left with a “brand new look” by the time you leave? Do you ever go to someone’s house and “just can’t help yourself”?

Ok, Miss Freak, here’s my question: How on earth does one keep their linens and towels in some kind of order? Every time someone (meaning people under the age of 13 who really could care less how the linen closet looks, not that there’s anything wrong with that!), removes a towel or bedding, it all starts to tip sideways, or forwardways (or some other ways) and ends up being a mess. Any ideas?

Count me in - my husband calls me “the stuffer” because on the surface, our house looks OK, but if you open a drawer or closet, watch out.

My biggest issues are my recipe box (sits in a “pile” on top of my fridge as there’s no room in the actual box since everthing I print from the internet is 8×11) AND our playroom - I want to find an easy way to keep it simple and to rotate toys, but can’t get around to it as it seems to be a HUGE job.

My question for you is what are your tips for organizing kids clothes? Right now I have all my 3 year old’s clothes in boxes in the closet, grouped by type (jammies, tops, bottoms). She loves to change clothes throughout the day and it seems like every night I have to go re-organize the whole thing in order to find anything to wear the next day. Oh Dear Freak….how I need your help and a new magazine (which I promise to read through and absorb, immediately followed by passing it on to someone else so it does not become part of the household landscape…..)

Now to my question: I have 3, soon to be four children…Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl. In January when the next one makes her appearance they will be ages 5,4,3 and 2…..We get a lot of handmedowns, and of course, the youngers do or will wear the clothes that the olders have outgrown. I need a system for storing the clothes that have been out grown, or are waiting or the next season….I have tried big bins, but somehow I lose track of what’s there and miss some good stuff. Please help….the basement storage room where these clothes live has become a serious den of iniquity, so you can see why I need your freaky self!

I do!!! I am a list writing freak (I used to use so much paper that I have switched to using MS Excel).

I would love to win this magazine! I have been looking for more orginization ideas to keep my house as organized as possible…

Ohhh,I have one thing to say… old baby wipe containers work PERFECT for organizing the bathroom cubbord and you can label them to your hearts content.

Ooo, this looks so neat! I love magazines and I like to *read* about being organized (I’ll let ya read between the lines there). My question… We’re going to be moving into a 5th wheel trailer while we build next year. It will be me, my husband, my 2 year old, and (maybe, if I get pg soon!) a newborn! What essentials would you bring and how would I organize said 5th wheel for those couple months?

Hi Laura aka ‘Freak’ (which sounds like such a nasty thing to call someone to whom I am just introducing myself! :)),

I am a long time reader…but apparently you had to offer a mag. sub. to a publication called ‘Organize’ to draw me out of lurkdom! You have succeeded! Thanks!

I would LOVE to have a subscription to that magazine. It sounds wonderful, as I love the thought of being perfectly organized…but then what would I do with all my time that I now spend thinking of ways to organize?

So…I tried to think of the thing that is the most difficult for me to organize in my household…beside my whole basement, that is…and I came up with books.

I have books, and books, and books, and did I mention books? I homeschool, so collecting books is a necessity, it seems. How can I organize my books? Do they all have to be displayed on shelves thereby getting dusty? How can I remember what books I have, so that I can find said books when I actually need them?

I feel better now that I have the expert (well ‘Freak’ would be the same thing as expert, right?) on the job.

    Thanks!
Brenda (who lives in Canada and was thrilled that the offer was made to those in CANADA and the U.S.!!!!!)

First of all, k. has a GREAT question!! My toddler also loves to change clothes throughout the day (I’m teaching her how to dress herself) and that leaves all the clothes in a mess. I hope you pick her and answer that!!

As for myself, my question is what do you do with those sentimental things (like figurines) that you love and never want to part with, but also never want to dust?

I have some figurines that my mother gave me on important occasions (moving out, wedding, college graduation, etc) that while I don’t ever want to give away, neither am I really feeling a precious moments graduate in my bedroom. What are your thoughts?
