Hi friends, I’m back! It was so nice to take some time off and get my basement finished. Oh what a job it was! I’ll post about it soon. It looks so different and I’m so happy with how it turned out. I know today’s post isn’t organizing related but I do hope you find it encouraging anyway. Since I spent so much time painting walls last week, I had a lot of time to think. And my heart is breaking for everyone struggling with current restrictions in place. We actually moved backwards here in Alberta, Canada from Phase Two back to Phase One because our case numbers are soaring again. So essentially we still can’t socialize indoors and there is a 15% capacity limit in stores. Restaurants are only allowed to serve takeout and on their patios (if they have one).
Thankfully, outdoor visits up to 10 people are okay. But other parts of Canada are not as fortunate and are on stay at home orders. And from what I have read, Canada is way behind many other countries in vaccination speed. So all that to say, I think that Canada is not doing well.
Where you live may not be doing well either. I’m so sorry. People are hanging on by threads, upset, discouraged and frustrated. And of course, due to each of us having very different circumstances, not everyone will agree on how things should be handled which causes more stress. There are no easy answers unfortunately and tensions are high right now. All I know for certain is one way or another we are all struggling with loss of some kind. And it hurts my heart. I want to give hugs so bad. And I really want to receive a hug so bad. I haven’t hugged anyone outside my family in over a year. It’s so hard.
Yet it is my faith as a Christian that gives me hope and helps me persevere. He is my rock in times of trouble (Psalm 18:2) and He promises to sustain us (Isaiah 46:4). He has sustained me through some very trying times and He will do the same for you as well if you just ask. I would be happy to pray for anyone that can use some extra prayers. Please reach out to me. Send me a direct message on Instagram or through email (under contact at the top of the page). Please know you are not alone.
In addition to prayer, I try to brighten up the day of others by delivering sweet little happy packages. I absolutely love making people smile! I’ve talked about my smile mission many times on here before and if you’d like to read a couple of those posts you can do so here:

This time I’m delivering a little sunshine to those needing some extra encouragement. Never underestimate the power of a bright happy gift that lets people know that they are loved and cared for. Look at how fun these yellow bundles of sunshine turned out.
The yellow products I added include:
- A Pineapple Bubly beverage
- Coffee Crisps
- Juicy Fruit gum
- A packet of seeds
- A small bottle of yellow hand sanitizer
- A container of Play-Doh
- A smiley face ball (will also double as a stress ball!)
I purchased everything but the Bubly at the dollar store and each one comes to about $5.
They make me so happy. I hope they make others happy too. And I’m making my free printable sunshine gift tags available to you in case you’d like to do the same (get them with or without scripture). Because when we lift the spirits of those around us, we lift ours as well. And I think right now we can all use a little encouragement and sunshine. Am I right?

Thank you for summing up so many feelings and emotions so eloquently. I heard the situation described as “We might all be in the same storm, but we are not all in the same boat”. Everyone has differing details they are dealing with at the moment and ‘hanging by a thread’ is certainly reality for many. Thanks for the little ray of sunshine. Hope someone is bringing you some sunshine lately.

So thoughtful! I love this idea. And love how you framed the COVID challenges so gently and without judgement. Sending sunshine back your way. 🙂
