Hey there my lovely readers. This post just gets me so excited to write. I’m going to introduce you to the system I use to organize cords, cables and chargers. And I’m pretty proud of it if I do say so myself, ha! I’ve tried so many methods in the past that just ended up frustrating me. This system allows me quick and easy access to not only the cords and chargers I need but to any instructions required as well. I don’t have to go digging in a drawer or wonder which item goes with which. It’s nice enough that I can leave it sitting out on a counter or shelf and it works like a lovely mini filing cabinet. I absolutely love the simplicity of it and how easy it is to implement and maintain. My kind of system!

Organize Cords, Cables & Chargers
Ready to see how easy it is? Oh and by the way I don’t use the word easy too lightly. I only feel like I can in this instance because I’ve tried so many other systems in my lifetime (and I’m not that young, ha!). This is by far the easiest system I’ve used and the fact that I’ve maintained it for so long is testament to that. Maybe it will work for you too but I fully acknowledge that everyone’s needs are different. However a system that may not be 100% right for you is still better than no system at all. You can always tweak the system as you go. Just something to ponder today :).
Okay let’s get into it. All you need for this system are two things. A divided bin and some square baggies. These divided bins are often referred to as tank toppers and used for toilet paper storage. But friends we can use it however we want and it’s perfect for tech management! It has three divided sections and this one that I have can be found HERE on Amazon.
And the baggies I use to contain all the things can be found HERE on Amazon. You may also be able to find them at the dollar store. These two products work perfectly together to organize cords, cables and chargers. You know all the things that typically get tossed in a messy drawer never to be found again.
What’s in my baggies?
Here are some of the things my baggies contain.
The USB cord and manual for my outdoor radio. Notice I don’t even label the outside since I can clearly see from the manual cover what’s inside. I also keep the remote stored in here since we don’t often use it.
My weatherproof speaker manual and USB cord.
Other items include:
- Fitbit bands and chargers
- Happy Lamp USB cord
- Wireless headphone chargers and size pieces
- Wireless diffuser chargers
- Tripod connector bits
- Portable handheld printer and extra photo sheets
The other two bags on the left hand side contain the letters for my two different letter boards.
See I told you it was simple! I keep this bin in my office on a shelf by the door and it is super easy to access quickly. More importantly I don’t have to waste precious time looking for what I need. It’s all contained and ready to go. Seriously I love it so much. No more cord clutter scattered all over the house. Round it all up today and add them to some baggies. Of course, you can also use any container you have on hand for this. I just happen to love the divided container because it keeps things from overlapping and you can quickly file through them. It also doesn’t take up a large amount of space on a counter.
I should also point out that I’m typically the only one accessing these cords as my son and husband manage their own things. So if something doesn’t get put back I don’t usually have anyone else to blame but myself :).
Let me know if you decide to give this cord caddy system a try. I hope it works for you if you do. Isn’t organization the best? So fun!

These posts make me so happy! Yesterday we realized we didn’t have an iphone charger in my car (I have an Android, rest of the family has iphone)…so when we returned I immediately put an iphone charger cord and my cord in a POUCH in my cars console bin. I love this organizing idea too!

Yay, thank you for saying so! I love to help others with organizing ideas but sometimes it’s hard to know if they are liked or not 🙂

This is a perfect idea for me! The cords disorganization has been an ongoing challenge, and I can’t wait to try this. Thank you!!
P.S. I’m also a huge fan of pouches and using them in the car never occurred to me! Thanks for that idea, too! 🙂
