The Ultimate Collection of Resources for Healthy Living

Hey everyone, back in January, in a post for the Peaceful Organized Home series called We Can Do Hard Things, I shared how similar the struggle of losing weight and organizing are.  Here’s an excerpt of that post:

“Organizing comes easy to me because I’ve been doing it for so long and have seen the rewards being organized produces.  However with losing weight not so much.  I know that I can’t tell you to just get rid of stuff the same way a nutritional expert can’t tell me to just stop eating junk.  I already know what I need to do, the same way I’m sure you do.  It’s just so dang hard.  I’m addicted to food the same way someone else may be addicted to stuff.  Correcting the abundance doesn’t happen overnight.  It’s going to take time.  Period.”

After writing that on January 8th I couldn’t stop thinking about it and how I was asking my readers to do the hard things when it came to organizing but I was stuck in my own quest to get healthy.  It took until April for me to get serious but I had had enough and knew it was time.  For the past 5 months I have made my health a priority from better eating habits to exercise.  I have lost weight and inches and just feel so much better about myself.  It’s been hard I won’t lie but it did get easier with each week especially after I started seeing results.  I’m still not at my goal but I’m taking it one day at a time.  I would be happy to elaborate more on my journey and what I am doing if there is interest.

  1. I would be interested in hearing more about your weight/exercise plan and goals and success (and failures). I know what I need to do, but with kids and work and so much stuff going on I just don’t see how it’s possible. Right now, I just assume that sometime down the road, in several years, the kids will be independent enough for me to go to a gym and take care of myself. I just can’t see my way to doing it now, when they’re 1st and 6th grade and still working out how life works.
