Storage Star ~ Hobby Basket

Last week you read my sob story about not having a good excuse for another pretty basket.  Well Lori Ann from the lovely blog Simple Makes almost has me convinced that I need to take up knitting just so I can do this:

Now if that isn’t a reason to knit to your heart’s content I don’t know what is 🙂  Such a beautiful thing!  If all of this stuff was scattered around a living room it would just look like clutter instead of the wonderfully contained goodness that it is.  I think it looks so inviting and don’t think for one minute the whole basket within a basket trick escaped me.  That always gets me weak in the knees!

Besides the clutter factor Lori Ann lists some other reasons why having a hobby basket is such a great idea.  I couldn’t agree more which is why I find her very deserving of this award.  Please be sure to visit her site and read the post that goes with that gorgeous photo above.

Do you know someone deserving of a Storage Star?  Send me an email to nominate them!

PS:  My blog header has been nominated in a Best Mom Blog Header Contest over at Profitable Mommy Blogging.  Well okay I totally nominated myself..lol..but since I didn’t design it I felt it was okay.  I still love the header Shaz designed for me a year and a bit ago and thought she really captured the essence of who I am.  I know I’m not technically a mom blog but I am a mom and I do blog for moms so I guess that counts 🙂  Anyway after saying all that I’m feeling a little foolish because I don’t have any votes yet so if you are feeling generous maybe you could go on over and say YAY for #26.  If anyone asks just tell them the freak sent you 🙂

  1. As a knitter (and basket-a-holic-in-training), I am DROOLING over your basket.

I actually started composing a letter to you in my head about how ever since I started reading your blog, all I can think about is baskets. It doesn’t help that I am reading your blog in the throws of a pregnancy-induced nesting fit.

  2. I did have a knitting basket on the go for awhile, and you’re right, it does make a pretty addition to the living room. Maybe it’s time for me to resurrect it (provided I can keep the cats out of it)…

  3. Thanks a ton! You posted this on my half-birthday (which I only know because it was always celebrated in elementary school since we were out for summer on my real birthday), so it’s extra special 🙂

  4. I love baskets its a weakness. I promised myself a really expensive one that I have been eying if I meet my weight loss goal. Stop by and watch how im doing I’m posting my weight loss ticker every wed and hosting for others to do so as well. I need to be held accountable I want that basket lol.

  5. I really like the basket idea. I often have knitting stuff in a bag in the living room, which looks ugly and gives the cat a good place to sleep (and sometimes pee) on. I think he would leave it alone in a basket, and it looks more like art and less like clutter.

  6. How cool is that? You really are going to take up knitting just to have another basket? It doesn’t take much to motivate you, eh? Now, about the header: Yes, I went and voted for you. In fact, I’m in the process of trying to get a new blog design and I had the designer look at yours for an example of functionality (and cuteness).

    Blessings.

  7. Love that Basket!! Love you and your Blog. Thanks for all the helpful Tidbits about organizing and everything else you share!!
    I voted for you too…

  8. You could just make a knitting basket to use as a decoration in your living room. Just a suggestion. 🙂 Do you know about Longaberger baskets? look it up…I dare you

  9. In tidying my desk area again tonight, I realised I need an envelope basket!! When I start putting ‘like with like’, I realise just how much of these things I have!
