Oh my what a week. If you’ll indulge me I’d love to share with you a few of my favorite things from the course of the past week.
First up taking down the Christmas decorations and packing it all back up into their boxes for another year. Can you hear my sigh of relief?
Such a great feeling this is when it is done. My living room feels new and fresh again with the help of moving a few things around. Not anything major just enough for me to feel like there has been some change.
Do you remember when I showed you my chest? I scored this beautiful little treasure trove at the Value Village for $6.99. It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to put into it but looky here. It was just perfect for holding all my Christmas CD’s.
One of my favorite Christmas gifts from my husband was some additional pieces for my Crazy Daisy collection. I love these beautiful pieces of color and fun. They really couldn’t be more me. As you can see I’m all ready for a tea party now. Anyone up for some tea and biscuits?
We had such a fun New Year’s Eve spent with our very best friends and so much yummy food including my very favorite Surprise Spread appetizer. If you missed the recipe I posted it here earlier in the week. So good!
We brought in the New Year hanging out in the hot tub and enjoying some very colorful fireworks. A good time was had by all, kids and adults alike!

Great post! I loved seeing how you organize your Christmas boxes. I’m getting to be almost as organized as you are through this blog. Thanks for sharing your fave fives with us. Happy new year.

Good morning Laura. Oh I do love the “it’s all put away” feeling and the enjoyment of a organized room…

Wow, I have a lot more tubs than that too. I’m packing up today and your tidy tubs are very inspiring.
I LOVE those dishes! What fun.

Hi Laura! Happy New Year! Look at your Christmas stuff all packed up. Traditionally I do that on January 1st every year, but I’ve felt pretty crummy all week so I took advantage of having today (Friday) off to do it so New Year’s day I did sweet nothing.
Love, love, love your fun dishes!

I loved seeing your five in pics. How cool!
I especially loved your dishes. They are awesome. I love having different sets of dishes – of course, they can be difficult to organize! LOL.

I hope to get Christmas decorations packed up tomorrow. It is a good feeling to get everything back to normal and kind of gives me a new appreciation for my “regular” decorations that had to be put away during Christmas.
I wish we could have fireworks!! We can’t have them in the city limits.

Okay, maybe I am a grinch (according to my sister who has way more Christmas decorations). I just packed up yesterday and ended up with just two big containers and the cardboard Christmas tree box…Even with my measly amount of decorations I breathed a sigh of relief when the decorations got packed away and my little everyday treasures came to the forefront again. It even inspired me to move my regulars things around a little for a bit of a fresher look! Those dishes are lovely — they have the “make you smile” factor built right in, Laura.

My favorite is the last one. Love the angle and who doesn’t love fireworks on the New Year’s Eve?
It’s funny to see that you sighed relief when getting everything from Christmas put away. It’s why you are so good an organization.

SNOW/hottub? ACK! I bet that is one VERY FAST dash back in the house! We shivered in jackets and blankets around our firepit and it was like 50 degrees. We are total wimps!
So fun to catch up with you! Happy New Year to your sweet family, Laura.
Love,
Katherine

Now did you label those tubs what is in them? I can’t tell; looks like a small strip but can’t read it up close. My daughter, Laura put all our tubs up in garage rafters for us which was such a help. That hot tub sounds nice; would be so relaxing. Happy New Year!

I think I have found a kindred spirit on this web site…. and It’s not because I’m organized.. It’s because I have found someone that has as much christmas music as I.. Love the trunk, what a deal.
your site is so inspirational and full of ideas.. Will definetely be back.
