I just received this fun book in the mail from my friend Marcia in South Africa. I’m enjoying reading it because it’s written in short snippets that I can pick up and read in quick bursts as I have the time. I’ll write more on it later once I’ve read the entire book. As per my instructions, I’ll then be passing the book on. We are going to see how far it can get around the world.
Thanks Marcia!
While many people may need better storage, they don’t usually need more storage. They just need less stuff.
* Even stuff you like and intend to keep can become clutter if it’s in the wrong place. If you can’t find something you know you have, then it’s of no use to you.
* Stash often-used belongings near where you’ll need them, not “where they fit,” and they’ll be easier to get to when you want them.
* If you use an object infrequently and are afraid you won’t remember later where it is, ask yourself, “If I were searching for this today, where would I think to look for it?” Then store it there.

Ooooh…I especially love that last tip. So “common sense” but not something I’ve ever really thought of.

I love that last tip too. Its one of those slap-on-the-forehead why-didn’t-I-think-of-that tips that just makes so much sense. Looking forward to reading your reviews of the book, sounds like a useful read.

Cute idea… My problem: I never know what I am thinking from day to day! LOL

Looks like a good book. I love to read but, like you, when it comes to books like these, I perfer snippets rather than a long drawn out read.
Looking forward to reading what you have to say about the book! 🙂

You should register the book at bookcrossing.com and then could track its travels :o) That’s what I do with mine, anyways.

This is hard for me, as I want everything very compartmentalized. I finally put a pair of scissors in my kitchen cabinets between the plates and bowls. I use them several times a day and got tired of running to their “right place” in the office.

Great doable mini tips.
I’ve been thinking about the more storage or less stuff a lot lately. I’d I’m definitely getting the urge to start some purging. First on my list is going to be my dayhome crafts room. I mean I can only use so many pinecones or scraps and bits of paper.

That looks like a great book! I can’t wait to resume “normal” around here and start organizing again. It will take me months to catch up on all your blog entries I’ve missed.
