I do want to accomplish a few things this year without any pressure on myself whatsoever to actually complete any of it….lol.
It sure would be nice though if I did.
-
Update our will
- Have pictures from the computer sent off to be printed (haven’t done this since last May)
- Organize pictures into photo albums
- Back up blog every month (still trying to figure out the best way to do this)
- Purchase some kind of bear proof garbage container for our carport before the bears wake up
- Finish the baby’s 1st year scrapbook (I’m only on month 6) and then I’m thinking of giving up scrapbooking altogether….gasp I know
- Enjoy regular quiet time in the Word on a consistent basis
- Go away with some girlfriends for a spa weekend
- Teach my daughter how to cross stitch
- Sell my stock pile of items on Ebay
- Come up with some kind of chore/allowance system for the kids that actually works
- Walk at a brisk pace for an hour three times a week
- Stick to our just completed financial plan
- Do my filing at least every three months (yuck!)
- Do an organizing job for $$$
That ought to keep me busy for awhile!

Oh I so knew this would happen. I read your list and now I have to add at 3 more things to my things to accomplish this year. But not the bear proof garbage can. At least I get a break with that one! :vD
Great list, Laura. Those are all doable things that aren’t “pie in the sky” kind of stuff.

Laura, your list sounds like a fun one…lots of pleasurable things like spa days, crafting, walking, family photos…all good stuff. Hope you hit the ground running with a happy song in your heart!

I think you should do #15 first! You are a natural, and after you do that…nothing will stop you!
When you figure out #4 could you let me know how to do that!! Thanks!
You have a great site! Congratulations!

Great list! Especially giving up scrapbooking which is evil!
I just posted a link today to my allowance system. It works!

#2 – Since the purchase of our digital camera last year I have yet to print any pictures. I need to figure it out.
#6 – My first baby is stuck at 9 months and my second baby has yet to have any pictures printed. I agree, I want to scrapbook baby books and then just use photo albums with a little journaling blurb explaining the event.
Good Luck! I love your site!

My mother taught me how to cross-stitch as a little girl and I loved it!! I can totally relate to the photo-thing too. Good luck with your list!!

Sounds like a great list 😀 I’m great at making lists and horrible at sticking to them lol.

Great list! All of those are very do-able.
Giving up scrapbooking would be hard, I’m trying to make a business out of it. lol
I definitely think you’ll be able to make $$$ from organizing.

I love your non-resolutions. I need to do the brisk walk thing myself; these bones are getting older and I need to keep osteoporosis from setting in! I sent you an email about chore charts that work great for us. I have a couple extra if you’re interested. As far as bear-proofing the garbage can…I would just move! 🙂
Have a super weekend!

Since discovering I could simply download the pictures I want to our Walgreens on the corner, I’ve been doing much better at tackling the 3,000 digital pictures on our computer (no, that is not a typo!). I just choose the ones I want, download and pick them up a couple hours later. My goal is to try and do that once a month.
I am also an EX-scrapbooker. I began scrapping when it first became popular ten years ago. Four kids later I simply do not have the time, energy, money or even the desire anymore I once had. I will be thrilled to put them in some order in an album and call it good! Letting go of that was very freeing for me. Now I don’t have the daunting task of scrapping the last several years of my kids lives…no more guilt!
Good luck with your non-resolution resolutions! Looks like you’ve got just about everything covered.

You can’t give up scrapbooking!! I may just have to hire you to organize my Christmas decorations…oh yeah but you’d have to put them away before I get home!!
Miss you!

This is a lovely list. Like others have said, fun to do.
Well, except for some of the things, which sound like chores. If I could offer a suggestion for Item #4: HTTrack at http://www.httrack.com/html/index.html is a free website copier. It is not too fiddly to set up, and it took a short while to backup my miniscule site – so expect to leave it running for your big site. But it did a great job.
With #11, I was interested in what Haim Ginott says in BP&C “An allowance is not a reward for good behavior nor a payment for chores. It is an educational device that has a distinct purpose: to provide experience in the use of money by exercising choices and assuming responsibilities. Therefore, oversupervision of an allowance would defeat its purpose.” He has more to say on it, with suggestions, but I just thought it might be a different view on the subject.

I loved the spa get away idea the best……

Good for you! I love the spa idea! And i actually gave up scrapbooking myself. I still love it and have TONS of supplies (I also have card-making materials) but being so far behind (and just having a 3rd) depressed me. So I’m keeping up to date photo albums and cataloguing important photo groups to make a family scrapbook someday. So what if the kids have to duke it out over who gets it when we are gone?
