I have so much to tell you today I almost don’t know where to start. So I’m going to start by saying thank you to everyone who left a comment for me yesterday on my 100th post! Your comments were awesome and hilarious! I think I was giggling the whole day long. It really was a fun time. Overwhelmed with Joy let me know that she has a Mr. Linky set up so everyone that has done a 100th post of 100 things can all link up together in one spot. Such a great idea because I so enjoy reading everyone else’s especially someone whose blog I’ve been reading for awhile. I love seeing how accurate the picture I’ve created in my mind of them is.
So last night about 6:30 pm we were sitting around and my son yells “Bear in the backyard!”. I of course ran to grad my camera to take a picture for you all and this is what we saw:
Sorry the picture isn’t better but I was taking it through the window. You can just make him out at the back of the shot. We have been having quite the problem with bears in the last couple of weeks. They haven’t bothered us all summer but now they are getting ready to hibernate for the winter and they are hungry and looking for some tasty garbage. They don’t usually come around our backyard in broad daylight though, just usually in the middle of the night. So this was quite a sight to see especially for the kids!.
So many of you were interested in the Bruschetta Chicken Bake. Well I made it last night and really enjoyed it. I even took a picture of it for you below as I do highly recommend it…so easy to make. I served it up with some quartered baby potatoes drizzled in EVOO and rosemary spice cooked in the oven alongside the chicken. Delicious!
Okay what’s next. Ahh yes….much is going on around Blogville these days. I thought I’d point out a few of them to you. First up my friend Gibee is hosting a Made with Love day on Oct 23rd where we can all link up with our favorite homemade holiday gifts. It’s never too early to start thinking about getting organized for the holidays! I would love to show you a picture of her beautiful banner but I can’t get it to work for some reason so you’ll have to go on over and see it for yourself.
Finally on November 1st, my friend Sandra will be hosting a Holiday Traditions day. Link up with your favorite holiday traditions. I just love traditions and would love to incorporate even a few more into our holiday season so I can’t wait to see what you do in your home and maybe stealing a few ideas!
Whew, looks like Blogworld will be a busy place in the next little while.
Have a great day everyone!

Thanks for posting the links. It will be fun to participate!

You sound rather calm that you have a bear in your background. I guess you’ve grown accustomed the possibility. I doubt, however, that I would feel the same.
Looking forward to the Holiday traditions!

Oh my I can not believe that bear. I would absolutely stroke out if I saw that in my yard! Keep safe around that kind of stuff!

A bear? A BEAR?????? Are you kidding????? You aren’t packing up and moving far, far away????
You probably think I’m silly. So please forgive me. I always see lots of deer in our yard (once there were 11 together, 2 of them tiny newborns) so I always roll my eyes whenever someone says “Oh! I saw a deer today on my way in to work!!”
I’m in the midwest and we do NOT have bears. So please roll your eyes at me. I’m laughing at myself.
🙂

I have enjoyed reading your blog…and was so excited to see that another family likes the Bruschetta Chicken. I first saw this recipe through Kraft last year…and noticed in their last magazine it was rated as one of their best recipes by readers. :o)

I made Bruschetta Chicken Bake for dinner tonight and LOVED it. Thanks for linking to it and suggesting it! and the tip about roasting the potatoes in the oven at the same time was golden, too.
