For me organizing is all about making life easier. Truth is I’m lazy. There I said it. That’s right, just plain lazy. That and I hate to WASTE time. Take today for example. I was in the middle of making muffins when my hubbie decides to ask me where we keep the extra suitcase tags and this AFTER he has already spent half an hour looking for them. I looked at him and said well duh, in the extra suitcase tag container of course, I mean doesn’t everyone have one..lol. I immediately went over to the drawer I keep them in and pulled them out. It totally surprised him….why it would surprise him I have no idea…..and why he wouldn’t just ask me first is BEYOND me. Anyway my point is, if I would have had to stop what I was doing to spend half an hour looking for those darn things I would not have been too happy. I mean I was making muffins people….a RARE occurrence in my house…..lets face it we all have our gifts and baking is NOT mine…I need to pay attention or I’m likely to leave out the flour or something like that.
Life is just so much easier when you know where everything is. There isn’t a box, tote, cupboard, closet or drawer where I don’t know what is inside (except of course here, yikes!). So the time it takes to set up my systems is WELL worth it because of the time saving factor in the long run. Just imagine what you could do with all your extra free time…..would it be worth it to you…..only you can decide…..

I may have to read more here to be inspired, because I am one of those people who spend hours looking for something. I usually start off looking where it is supposed to be, and sometimes by the time I return there, it actually is there after all. It’s sad.
I have come across you in WFMW, but I came today surfing the Family Friendly blogroll.

I spent much time looking for those light bulbs the other night…only to have found them later in a drawer I had looked in multiple times. It is totally worth it to be organized! Now, I know exactly where they are…in the light bulb drawer of course! Thanks org junkie!!

You are such an inspiration to me, I’ve told you that before and I am saying it again “YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION” LOL
I love how you have a place for everything and everything in it’s place….

I love being able to find things. I really can locate most of my stuff because I’m like you: a place for everything and (hopefully) everything in its place. It really does make life easier! Besides, having a special place for things gives you the excuse to buy those cute baskets/containers/whatevers you see out there!(There’s another saying that is very helpful in keeping organized: “Don’t put it down, put it away!”)
