Hello! Time for another edition of Menu Plan Monday otherwise known as the best place to start on your quest to get organized.
So we are in for a super nice week this week so I don’t want to have to turn on my oven to heat up my house. So I managed to come up with some simple recipes to try this week that will keep us fed and cool at the same time 🙂
Menu Planning Resources:
I came across this awesome post the other day over at the Thirty Handmade Days blog. It’s all about teaching kids to cook and I’m all over that. My kids have been working in the kitchen since they were very small and all the time I’ve put into teaching them has definitely paid off now. My daughter cooks most of our meals now which let me tell you is pretty sweet!!! Hang in there mamas, I know it’s more work when you have littles to have them underfoot but one of these days when your child serves up something delicious all on their very own, you will cry great tears of joy! This resource is fantastic to help you with your teaching efforts.
Treat of the Week:
Last month my contributor, Melanie, shared a yummy dessert called Double Chocolate Eclair Cake that I haven’t had a chance to try yet. I’m hoping to make it this week since I recently found some gluten-free graham crumbs at my local grocery store.
Have an awesome week y’all!
My Weekly Menu Plan:
Monday: Easy French Dip Sandwiches served with side salad
Tuesday: Turkey Pesto Burgers served with corn on the cob
Wednesday: Root Beer Grilled Chicken served with baby potatoes and carrots
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Sausage Veggie Grill Recipe
Saturday: Confetti Spaghetti in Slow Cooker
Sunday: YOYO (you’re on your own!)

I love the information on kids cooking in the kitchen. It is such a wonderful bonding experience for a family. When I was little my mom bought me a Betty Crocker cook book for kids (around 1958). I enjoyed being a ‘big girl’ and working in the kitchen with my mom. When I had kids the book was pulled back out, my daughter enjoyed it and to this day still makes on of the recipies in the book, she has probably posted it!

The kids cooking camp post really is a great resource. My girls are helping more but I need to encourage a little more independence in the kitchen. How nice that your daughter cooks more of your meals now. Have a great week!
