Menu Plan Monday ~ Feb 28th

Is it really March 1st tomorrow?  That makes me happy, it means we are that much closer to spring!  I love spring so much.

So if you are looking for a really fast and easy meal suggestion, I’m highly recommending the Zippy BLT’s.  They were so absolutely delicious.  I of course added ketchup to mine though because what would be a BLT without ketchup.  Yum! :)  To reduce the fat count you could simply sub in turkey bacon for regular.  I also didn’t add the avocado to mine because I’m just not a huge fan of it.

The Sunshine Meatloaf got high ratings from my hubby but there was a little too much onion happening for me.  I’d make it again but with way less onion.  I’m a wimp like that I guess :)  The best part about this recipe though is that it makes two meatloaves.  We ate one and froze the other to have some other time.  One less night of cooking for me…whoot!

Okay so you all really liked the menu board I featured last week so I thought I’d share another really cool one.  Seriously there is no end to the talent and creativity you people have and it thrills me to share such a variety of different options each week.   Now no one is saying here that you can’t be in the menu planning club if you don’t have a pretty menu board but it sure does help make the chore a little more fun :)  This one is by Lori over at Paisley Passions using a $3.00 thrift store find.   If you want to know how to make yourself one check out her tutorial.  Thanks Lori for letting me share your pictures here.

Cute, cute, cute!

I know that some of you are still struggling with menu planning and I ask that you please please not give up.  It literally has been one of the best things I’ve ever done and the benefits are awesome.  I’m going to continue to share great resources here to encourage you to just hang in there with it.  It does get easier I promise.  Check out this terrific menu planning how to post from Ask Anna.  She provides some very helpful tips to get you going.

Okay gals here is what we’ll be eating this week:

Monday: Black Bean Quesadillas

Tuesday: Weeknight Ravioli Bake

Wednesday: Dinner out!

Thursday: Leftover buffet

Friday: It may not be spring yet but hubby wants to fire up the grill anyway – Teriyaki Sirloin Steak

Saturday: Sticky Chicken in the Crock Pot

Simple Supper Sunday

For snacks I’m going to make up a batch of Fat-Free Banana Bread

That menu board is really great! We just use a white board that includes our menu, our to do list, and our shopping list. Not the cutest thing in the world, but it works! :)

    Thanks for hosting!

That menu board is really cute. My menu is only in my head (and in my post), so I’ll have to consider creating some type of visual. Thanks for hosting.

I’m looking forward to spring, too, Laura! I bet with all the snow you’ve had, your really ready for it. :-)

I agree that menu planning is a great idea for so many reasons and I’d add it does get easier with time, like a lot of things. It’s now a habit with me (and over the years I stopped and started many times!), in large part to being accountable here at MPM- Thanks!

Who says you can’t grill year round? Oh, but you are in Canada, aren’t you? In Georgia, we can grill year round and do so! Had steak last week!
    Love the menu board!

    What a neat idea!
My DH and I made an aggrement what he would create the MPM and I would post it based upon what the sales are for the week since he does the majority of the cooking! Definately takes the pressure off.

What a super cute menu board. I hope you enjoy the sticky chicken and be sure to make broth with the leftover bones and juices, its the best!

Thanks for allowing us to link up and share each week. Love the menu board by Lori. I just keep a notebook, not as fun but it gets the job done ;)

I use this list while shopping. I have had people stop me & ask where I got it. It also might be because I’m a total nerd & take a clip board to the grocery store!!

I put my meal plan on the back, so if I need to change what we’re eating, its super easy to make changes while I’m at the grocery store. I live out of town, so running down to the corner store to get the sour cream I’ve forgotten isn’t an option. Its changed my life, I used to stress if I hadn’t picked something to cook by 4:30. It eliminates all of that to look whats on the menu for tonight & just go with it!

Very cute menu board! We moved our huge computer cabinet out of our kitchen and now I have some bare wall space….I might have to put up a menu board! :)

I am new to this site. LOVE it! I have attempted meal planning before with no success. I’d like to try again. I stumble on week 2 every time. It feels like week 1 over and over. Do you have any completed meal plans for a month say that you could share? Ideas on how to expand my meal planning horizons that don’t involve a lot of recipe research upfront?
