For those of you looking for a grocery list you can customize yourself check out this cute free grocery list printable I found over at Becoming Martha.

Well I don’t have really have much to talk about today as we had a pretty quiet weekend cooped up inside the house with all the snow and the cold we’ve been having here lately.  Although I’m so not complaining as it’s nothing like what we use to get back home in northern BC.  From what I hear they are getting it pretty bad again this year.  Remember these pictures I took of my front yard a couple of years ago:

Nope not missing that one bit!  Yikes!

Monday: Easy Hawaiian Pita Pizzas

Tuesday: Dinner out!

Wednesday: Lasagna Soup (I’ll throw it into my slow cooker) served with Whole Wheat Butter Biscuits

Thursday: Leftover buffet

Friday: Crispy Oven Roast Chicken with Potatoes (I’ll use oil instead of butter so my son can eat it as well)

Saturday: Easy Italian Pasta Bake (I’ll add some diced peppers for a veggie)

Simple Supper Sunday

WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?

Wow, that is a ton of snow! And I thought I was cold in the 50 degree weather! I’ll stop complaining. I’m off to check out your whole wheat biscuits, still trying to find the best recipe for those!

Happy Monday Laura! We have about a foot of snow on the ground, more coming today and ice tomorrow. Ugh…hate the ice!

We are forecast for sleet/snow this evening but I am so glad we have not got the amount of snow we had last year. Personally, I am ready for spring.

Your Hawaiian Pizza Pita recipe looks good, I may have to try that for a weekend lunch soon.

My goodness, I remember that winter. Vancouver was under. I could hardly find my car, lol….nope I don’t miss that.

The Lasagna soup sounds delicious and slow cooker is a bonus these days in my crazy house.

Wow! That’s a lot of snow. The little bit that we still have on the ground is going to be washed away with rain today and tomorrow. Clean slate for the next batch of snow. Thanks for hosting MPM each week!

Your menu sounds fabulous Laura. And looking at that snow makes me REALLY appreciate the fact that I live in Florida! LOL!
    Have a great day!

It’s funny to see those photos and then see Hawaiian pizza pita right below (it sounds great by the way). Thanks for hosting Laura!

    Candace says:

For the Lasagna Soup- do you just cook the meat and then throw everything in the crock pot together? Sorry- I’m an idiot cook. Just want to make sure I do it right :). It looks reallly good.

      Laura says:

Hi Candace, yes I basically just cook up the soup according to directions but instead of throwing it into a pot I throw it into the crockpot and cook it on low for awhile.

Lots of snow for a lot of people this year. Have a wonderful week!

WOWSA! Got snow?! That is a LOT! Thank you for hosting this each week. I’m trying the mac and cheese and steak you posted last week.

      Laura says:

Hi Sherry, the mac and cheese turned out really good. The eggs didn’t sit well with hubbie though (he’s allergic to them in some things) so I wonder if I could make it without. I’ll have to try that.

My week was really great! Thanks for askin! I am sooooo thankful that you posted the recipe for the Whole Wheat Butter and Honey Biscuits! I have been trying to find a good recipe for biscuits using whole wheat flour for a while now. Plus, I just got done pokin around his site and found some other really good recipes! I can’t BELIEVE how fast linkies get posted to this! Within seconds, more than 20 linkies were posted while I was posting mine!

I keep forgetting to ask: What are Simple Suppers? I keep seeing this on the menu and have been curious about it.

      Laura says:

Simple suppers are how we clean up the fridge from the week so I can start fresh on Monday lol. Basically it’s “picking” night as my youngest calls it and everyone fends for themselves although we still all eat together. Pancakes or grilled cheese are also popular choices for that night. Just quick and easy is the name of the game :)

Lasagna Soup? I’ve never heard of that one. The recipe looks pretty good though :) Crisp Oven Chicken sounds delicious! I love you snow pictures. We are wishing we had a little more.
Do you have any great ways to organize little girl hair accessories and my jewelry? I am struggling with both of these issues. Thanks!

Looks like a tasty and low-stress menu this week. Looking at your snow shots makes me feel like a real wimp whining over 5 or 6 inches of snow. I’ll bet your little one will remember that big snow. Hope you don’t get one of those again this year. Stay warm.

      Laura says:

Hi Wendy, we’ve now since moved to Alberta and while we are getting a fair bit of snow here it’s still nothing like what we used to have in BC like you see in the pictures there.

    Kristie says:

Thank you for the cute grocery list–love it!! Our snow is melting and we have puddles and lakes in the fields right now!!

  17. 17

We do not see snow like that in Texas. We are lucky if it sticks here. If it gives us enough to make a mini snowman, my kids are over the moon!

    Yummy menu.

  18. 18

A couple of great looking recipes here! I have an eggplant I need to cook! Never cooked one before, but I think I will roast it. I don’t love eggplant, but love roasted veggies, so maybe I will like it ok!

Italian pasta bake. If I use the 4% lean beef and 2% cheese, I might be able to do that. I’m not sure about cooking my noodles in tomato sauce, though. I like them really soft. Great menu plan! And I’m thankful I don’t live in snow like that!

    Jo Green says:

Look at all that snow! We got some here but not that much! Thanks for the menu plans – they are super helpful. Feel like i’m in a bit of a rut lately.

    Julia says:

We’re thankful that we haven’t had as much snow this year as last year. But I guess what I consider to be a lot is still less than what you captured in those photos!

We have been trying to do some fun winter activities lately so that we don’t feel so trapped by the cold weather. I put links to some of them in my plan for this week. =)

I just wanted to say how much I love your site! It’s one of my favourites in my blog reader!

Where in Norther BC did you move from Laura? I’m a Northern BC girl myself – born in Prince George and grew up in Stewart. I love on Vancouver Island now, but sometimes I actually miss all that snow! (not often though lol).

    Sue says:

    Hi Laura,

How long would you cook everything in the crockpot on low? If I start it at 7:00 a.m….. I’m thinking the noodles will be waaaay overdone by dinner at 6:30….. So, since I’m still trying to figure out crockpot stuff, what if I put everything BUT the noodles on low all day & then when I get home at 3:30 put the raw noodles in & turn it on high?… what do you think?

    Sue

My son happened to see your menu and zoomed in on the pasta bake. “Mom, you have GOT to try this!” :)

Thanks so much for the inspiration! I really needed it this week! I am trying out your lasagna soup and pita pizzas.

I certainly can relate to that snow pile! I don’t think ours was ever quite that big though!!! We already have had 50 plus inches, which is usually what we get the whole winter and it is only January!!! Yikes!
Thanks for the link up again! :)

  29. 29

I am definitely adding the Lasagna Soup to my menu plan this week! What a wonderful variation of just plain pasta and sauce (which we’ll still eat anyway…lol)! It finishes up my menu plan so I can start looking at others to plan for next week!

All that snow reminds me of why I love living in Florida even though I miss New England!
