Baskets galore and a new promotion!

I always get so excited when I find a blog post featuring baskets, baskets and more baskets.  Woohoo!  Now you know I love my dollar store baskets.  Love them!  I have them in just about every drawer and closet in my home.   However for storage not tucked away in a drawer or closet I like to use something a little more decorative and special than a dollar store basket.  That’s when I switch to wicker baskets.  They are pretty and I love to have them on display.  For instance my toy baskets in my living room are lined wicker.  They just add a special touch to the room and disguise all sorts of thing in a very visually appealing way.

Apparently Caroline of the The Feminist Housewife blog feels the same way.  I stumbled upon the post where she featured before and after pictures of her laundry room shelves and just love the difference it makes.  So beautiful and definitely Storage Star worthy.  I asked her if I could share the pictures with you today and she agreed!

Before

After

Isn’t that so much better!  Everything tucked away and hidden in such a pretty way.   Love it! You can read Caroline’s blog post here and be sure to check out the rest of her blog where she chronicles the journey she is taking to fix up their 160 year old farmhouse.

I love the baskets. Another idea is IKEA has great cardboard boxes with lids and metal trim. We used them in a cubby storage unit and on a shelf.

I love baskets too. I have way too many of them. I’ve fallen in love with the baskets at Cost Plus World Market. I bought one earlier this year with a discount coupon. Nearly talked myself into another one, smaller, that I could stack on top, sideways of one I have. No not til I have more stuff organized, which I am still working on, mind you. My daughter found ones she likes that are made out of old newspapers at the same store. Novel idea!

WOW! What a difference those baskets make. Will have to look around to see where I can use some.

Great idea! Really makes the area look so much nicer, and I have several places this would really help in my house.

Love the look! I have also found that when using baskets, it’s nice to label them w/ using a package of inexpensive tags from either an office supply store, dollar store or discount store.

Great solution to a common problem! I had a similar moment recently when I got sick and tired my messy closet shelves and I decided to find the perfect storage bins. I found a similar basket from Bed Bath & Beyond but I also found a few other nice options as well:
