Menu Plan Monday – Sept 7th

mpm121

Hello!  We had a much healthier week this week thank goodness.  Soon routine will set in as the kids phase into their school routines starting on Tuesday.

Today I wanted to feature some free menu plan printables available around blogland.  I put out a Twitter call asking anyone that offered one and wanted to be featured to let me know.  Here are a few that you might enjoy.

Last week’s recipe winner definitely goes to the Honey-Soy Pork Chops.  These turned out so moist, delicious and easy!

  1. I clicked over after I saw how many hits I was getting from here and I want to say what a fun, helpful site you have here! I will be exploring some more. Happy Labor Day!

PS Hope you like the Grilled Honey-Lime Chicken sandwiches. They’re one of our favorites!

  2. Menu Plan Monday is a wonderful resource! I refer to it often, checking out lots of links and have even twittered about your great ideas (and linked to them, of course)!
    Thanks!

  3. Last week ended up busier than I thought – glad I had my Menu Plan to keep it sane. Hopefully this week will be easier – as we are headed into week 3 of school. Good luck to your kids as they head off to school this week.

  4. Ah! Labor Day! I am working so hard canning tomatoes, I really need a break 🙂

Thanks for the inspiration, as usual. Hope you have a great week….

  5. Thanks for hosting this! I’m coming in late due to the Holiday weekend and a power outage, but I’m happy to be joining in for the first time.

  6. I love this idea! I have just started a new schedule that has me shopping on Sunday for the week, so I might actually have my meals planned in time to post them on Meal Plan Monday! Woo hoo!

  7. I always find yummy stuff I want to try on your menus! The Quick & Easy Ranch Chicken sounds SO good! I’m going to have to try it very soon.

  8. I cannot wait to start menu planning. Now that I am a SAHM after 8 years of teaching I am so I became a part of the blogosphere this way. I discovered “menu planning” through other blogs eventually bringing me to the source HA it’s great and I am excited! I will be officially starting my menu planning next Monday. I have a page dedicated for just that to keep me organized “menu planning mama” I look forward to really using your site beyond cooking, it will really get me organized! Thanks so much!

  9. I’m new here, although I’ve been following your blog for quite some time! I love Menu Plan Monday, and firmly believe in the important role of menu planning in saving money! Forgive me, though. I accidentally posted the link to my entire website, rather than the permalink to the Menu Plan Monday! =/ I forgot, and then couldn’t go back! So sorry. Thanks!

  10. This is my first week participating but I have been reading your blogs for a couple of months now. Thanks for all of the awesome tips you post!

  11. Today I made a double batch of Ranger Cookies. A big favorite of ours–has oatmeal in it and chocolate chips as well. Tonight I made Deconstructed Lasagne and it was delish!!! It’s found in Everyday with Rachael Ray magazine, Feb 2009 issue, probably find it on her website as well. http://www.rachaelray.com
Rest of the week is porkloin in broth (already cooked) with mini ravioli for Tues. Meatloaf, veggies and cornbread on Wed. Frozen lasagne by Marie Callendar when we get to the beach cabin we’re staying at for a few days. In an effort to cut down on spending so much we are making different choices while gone on a trip where there’s a kitchen to cook at. Lunches are cheaper to eat out than dinner. We hope to find some local clam chowder to eat one night. Will let you know how we do!!! Have a great week!!

  12. The whole wheat honey zuchinni bread sounds very lovely. I think it will be perfect for using up the last zuchinni from my CSA program. Thanks!

  13. Thank you! I love the printables that include breakfast, lunch and dinner as I have to plan for all 3 and snacks with a large family in order to ensure that I buy enough at the grocery store. I make my shopping list after completing my menu plan.

  14. I noticed that http://www.dinnerbeat.com wasn’t on the list of free menu planners.

It’s a great site that lets you plan menus from your recipes (it even has an autoplanner that uses your ratings for the recipes) and then it generates a printable grocery list. My wife hands that to me since we have two little ones.

All I have to do is buy what’s on the list, then my family gets great, healthy dinners, and I can help out my wife by doing the grocery shopping. The site saves her a ton of time.

So my family loves Dinnerbeat.com and the best part is that it’s free.

  15. Thanks for the helpful site–just added my first menu plan to a very new blog I’m working on–new at both so forgive any wonkiness please!

Looking forward to reading all the great ideas you all have.
