Menu Plan Monday ~ Jan 12th + giveaway!

by Laura on January 11, 2009

in Menu Plan Monday

Howdy!  Today I’m feeling a little out of sorts because the internet isn’t working on my lap top (long story) so I’m using my hubby’s computer.  Problem is all the recipes I’ve bookmarked to try are on my computer and I can’t access them.  So I’m going out a searching….can’t wait to see what I find!

I want to thank all of you lovely ladies that participated last week.  I’m quite certain we reached another milestone with well over 400 of you joining in the fun!  I was jumping in my seat I was so excited.   I’m so happy that you decided to give it a chance and I hope you found it made things easier on you and your family.   If you are still finding it hard and thinking you might need a little help, don’t worry because my giveaway today might be just the assistance you need.

I’m so excited to tell you about a new (well new to me anyway) menu planning service called My Family Meal Planner.  Lindsay Siebert created My Family Meal Planner to help busy moms get dinner on the table every night without the hassle of having to figure it all out on our own.  This is what she has to say:

If you struggle with deciding what to have for dinner, or if you go to the grocery store without having a menu planned for the next week and just throw food in your cart in hopes that you are buying the correct ingredients for your next meal, you need one of my meal planners.

All meals are SIMPLE and EASY and include a crock pot meal EVERY week!  I planned all the meals for you, I give you all the recipes you need and I give you your weekly grocery list!  I even have Preprinted Magnetic Grocery List Notepads!  All you have to do is tear off this weeks list, cross out what you already have, add any other items you may need and head to the store.

Believe me, I don’t like spending much time in my kitchen, so all meals are quick.  If there are too many ingredients or ingredients that I have no idea where I would find them, I don’t cook those meals, and I don’t expect you to either.  It is so SIMPLE!  You will love the time you save and you and your family will love all the yummy meals!

Lindsay has four different planners available for purchase but today she is giving one away to a lucky Menu Plan Monday participant.  The winner will be able to select the Family Meal Planner and Notepad that is right for their family.  All you have to do to be eligible is link up to your weekly menu in the Mr. Linky below by Tuesday at 9:00 PST.  I’ll choose a random winner from the links and announce it shortly after that.  Good luck!

Before I forget I also totally want to recommend the Sweet ‘n’ Tangy Pot Roast I made last week.  Simple, simple and the gravy is delicious.  I love gravy or sauces of any kind really.  Yummy!

So let’s get on with my menu shall we:

Monday:  Spaghetti

Tuesday:  BBQ Chicken Fingers served over spinach salad

Wednesday:  Pasta Fagioli with homemade bread (from the bread machine)

Thursday:  Leftover buffet

Friday:   Homemade Pizza

Saturday:  Lemon and Garlic Roast Chicken served with carrots and potatoes

Simple Supper Sunday

WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU THIS WEEK?

Did you catch Oprah last Monday when she kept emphasizing “Menu planning is KEY” ? I kept thinking of you and thinking I should email her your site–what a hoot if she’d join in!

The roast chicken looks fantastic. A nice twist on the traditional roast. I have launched a Free Menu Planner you might like to check out. Have a great week!

Menu planning is the key, if you want to save time and are on a busy schedule as it is! The pizza sounds great.

Reply

9 Gina January 11, 2009 at 8:38 pm

I had to mix things up a bit this week–I only posted bread and muffin recipes to go with all the soup we’ve been eating. We’ve been doing a lot of leftovers, which I hate to post (Bo-ring), so I’ve been jazzing things up by trying some new bread/baked goods recipes.

I wish I could try that Pasta Fagioli, it looks great, but none of my crew will eat beans!

That giveaway sounds nice. I’m going to go over there and check it out. I can’t believe I skipped two weeks of menu planning–I guess you didn’t miss me with over 400 participating. It’s like the fitness classes in January–everybody’s doin’ it. HA ha.

Ouch, I hope your laptop is up and running soon! The chicken sounds great, but I really want to try your roast from last week. Crock pot, easy and you say it’s great – all works for me!

Cheers, Kiy

That pasta fagioli sounds wonderful! Just what we need on a cold winter night with some homemade bread.

Hope your laptop is fixed soon, I know how that goes. When mine was on the fritz it drove me crazy using my hubby’s. His bookmarks are all wrong! How can I find anything??

Good luck!

Mr. Linky is having some trouble I think. Hopefully it will be up and running soon. Sorry about that.

Mia, Mr. Linky is simply the box at the bottom of my menu planning posts that you add your name and menu planning link into. It then displays this information in a list with everyone else. It’s basically a way to collect the list of participants all in one place to make it easy for us to visit them.

Thanks!

I must admit this week’s menu plans aren’t spectacular since it’s hard to plan my menus while having a migraine – but they are planned. Now here’s to hoping that it goes away so I can get out and shop tomorrow for it. At least today is leftovers put together.

We have just started having guest posters and would love to have you post one of your recipes. We would, of course, link back to your blog. Please let us know if you are interested and check us out!

I think that you should just post your grocery list and then I would just follow your meals for the week… or I could supply you with take out containers and you could fill them, dont get me wrong, I would pay for the groceris… or you could just feed my family…. or you and your family could move in with me and my family… any of these sound like a super fantastic idea!!!
