Storage Star ~ Spice Rack Re-purposed

storagestar.jpg

Today’s Storage Star goes to a lovely lady named Kelsey with a lovely blog called Vanilla Joy. I can’t remember how I stumbled across her blog but when I did I discovered this:

Kelsey’s using just an ordinary spice rack for her….office supplies!  Oh how I love creative people! So, so very clever. You can find a list of the items Kelsey keeps in her spice rack here. I can also see this being a great tool for scrapbooking supplies. If anyone out there is currently doing that send me a picture, I live for this stuff!

Well done Kelsey!!

Oh. My. Gosh. *channeling Janis on Friends here*
    That is an AWESOME idea!
Right now i use a small basket with funky shot glasses in it to hold everything. That worked great when i had a nice big office and desk, but now i’m reduced to a small cupboard in the kitchen. This would work great in the corner!

    Wow! That’s brilliant!

Only drawback is that it doesn’t need labels! LOL! :)

    What a spectacular idea!

THANK YOU for posting this!!!!!! I have a gorgeous oak spice rack just like this and I never use it. I prefer the spices in my cupboard. What a perfect use for it!!

While I think this is super clever, I can’t get beyond the fact that when I look at it, all I see is a dead frog in the upper left spice container.

    Do I need therapy? Don’t answer that…….

Neat idea! I have also seen this done with the magnetic strip spice racks for beads and such.

The Clutter Control Freak site is talking about using spice racks for other uses, so I commented about your post.

That’s brilliant! I’m SO stealing that idea! Probably works for nails and screws for the garage!

This is a great idea to reduce spending on new appliances and reuse the ones staying on a kitchen shelf collecting dust. My husband and I are constantly searching for alternative uses for everyday items and frugal living. When we run out of all our spices, we’ll try this idea out! Thank you!
