We had an amazingly beautiful weekend here in my small neck of the woods. The snow is melting fast and I’m happy to report that we only have about 4 feet left on my front lawn. Woohoo!

I got my new Kraft Canada What’s Cooking magazine in the mail on Friday and I’m excited to try out some new recipes from it. They look delicious. This is a free magazine that is delivered to my door each quarter that often has some great recipes in it. I believe there is also an American version you can sign up for called Food &Family. I don’t always think they are the healthiest of recipes but I just substitute in the healthier versions of some of the ingredients and it works out just fine. Does anyone else get this magazine?

I’m going to be doing a GREAT giveaway later on this week (Wed) so be sure to check back for that!

Here is what we are eating in our house this week:

Monday: Creamy Spinach Ravioli

Tuesday: Taco Salad Bowls

rec_r1_54601v1ec.jpg

Wednesday: Honey Spice-Rubbed Pork Tenderloin served with Roasted Red Potatoes with Bacon and Cheese

rec_r1_47565v0ec.jpg

Thursday: Leftover buffet

Friday: Homemade Pizza

Saturday: Pulled Chicken Sandwiches

What’s on your menu this week?

Hi Laura,

Looks like we had some of the same menu ideas going on this week! lol

We are doing tacos/taco salad also (not with the neat bowls though!) as well as a baked ravioli dish. I’m pretty much pulling it all from my stocked meats this week. ;-)

Hope your nice weather continues. Have a good week!

Hang in there- that snow will all melt soon enough! I remember (when I lived in PG) how long the winter’s felt by the time it was March and April…

I can’t believe I’m already #73 at 9pm on Sunday night- popular carnival you’ve got going, my friend!

My Food and Family magazine is one of the things I so miss about living in the US. At least I can access it online! I need to check out those taco salads. It might be a great change from “plain old tacos” which are a staple in this house.

I do get the Food & Family magazine and love it! Actually nearly all of my recipes each week come from Kraftfoods.com and they have all of the past editions on their site to look through! I too alter the recipes a bit to make them healthier and family friendly.

I’m so glad I found your site. I’m going to work on my menu for the week and save myself 6 trips to the store because I’m always forgetting something.

I already have green beans and kohlrabi ready to pick from my little kitchen garden. I’m trying to find some recipes to use those kohlrabi leaves. Any suggestions?

julia

I haven’t gotten my Food and Family yet. Although I did get a little mag the other day: Food and Family Simple Shortcuts – I can’t tell if it totally replaces the larger mag or not. I don’t really like it, since I don’t do a lot of shortcut cooking. Their products enhance my cooking, not replace it. Oh well.

Your menu looks great this week! On tap this week for me? Just trying to get through it. I had trouble this week for some reason coming up with what to cook since I’m trying to get back into the Weight Watchers Groove a bit better. I’ve been slacking with the holidays (St. Pat’s, Hubbys birthday, Easter) and a bit of stress on my end. Instead of adding more stress about the menu I went with the 3 days I had figured out and then I’ll go from there since I have to go into town after that anyway, and I can pull from the freezer if I have to anyway. That’s why I put meals in the freezer in the first place, right?

I get Food & Family-I have not had a chance to look through it yet. The recipes that you show look great so I have to find time to read through the magazine.

I posted our meal plan this week but if anyone out there can help with a ham recipe let me know. I want to make ham Sunday but I don’t really have any recipes-something in the Crock Pot would be great! thanks!

Sorry I have been slack. I am doing a Pantry Challenge for April. That way I can Spring Clean the pantry and freezers :-) Only plan to buy perishables. Not many guests planned for April, but then in May there are holidays, visitors and our first Pool Opening in our backyard.

My DH is not a picky eater, and he is thankful for whatever I prepare :-) GOOD Hubby LOL
