I’m completely pre-occupied with procrastination. In a moment of weakness I somehow agreed to give my first organizing workshop next Friday. How that happened I’ll never know. The very fact that I’ve not prepared at all for this event is leaving me to think that maybe I just imagined the whole thing. But oh no, it’s happening and I’d better get my act together because somehow thinking my passion is going to take over and be extremely articulate all by itself might be a tad naive. It might be best if I have something more than “Hi, I’m a Freak, nice to meet you” written down don’t you think? No, I’m sure it’ll all be fine….really….because nothing says “junkie” like a person shaking and twitching in the corner curled up in a fetal position!
In other news, many of you have emailed me about how slow my site is loading. Hang tight with me my friends, I’m working on a brand new WordPress site that will be unveiled soon. I’m very excited about it and can’t wait to share it with you.

oh! i hope you can get ready for that!!! Whatever you do…don’t write it out word for word though! LOL you will sound like a robot! Make an outline! They are so easy and you will do GREAT at the workshop! Good luck!!!!

The trouble with committing to do workshops like that is you always wonder if you are covering everything you want to cover, and leaving out the extraneous things. I do really well “shooting from the hip” so to speak, but need an outline so I am sure to cover all the highlights.
You will do great. I know you will. Your procrastination is just a sign of your perfectionism! You want it to be good, not embarrass yourself, and be of benefit to all who hear you. That’s a lot of pressure. But, you know your subject matter and if you go in with confidence, it will all fall into place, just fine!

Well your blog motivated me to start tackling our “computer, sewing, piano, craft and lots of others uses” room that can’t really be used because it is a mess. Unfortunanaly, I burned out before it was anywhere near done. I am procrastinating at this very moment by blogging instead of cleaning.

Laura, you’ll do great. I am the same way. Do an outline and practice a couple of times out loud. It makes a big difference. The procrastination is just nervousness. Each time will get better and better.

Funny that you mention the slowness of your blog because I almost just emailed you about that. I had been meaning to ask you, but kept putting it off. I always save yours for last, then get sidetracked for a little while while I wait for you to come up.
On another note – you’re going to do great!! No worries. Just enjoy it and you’ll be fine. :-)

It’s funny that you mentioned the slowness. I have a ridiculously slow computer despite my cable connection so I only stop by occasionally because of the slowness.
Anyway, I’ve done presentations, too. Just remember to keep it simple. Focus on a couple of action points. And have fun!

I can only wish I could enter at Rocks in my Dryer… for some reason I’m unable to post comments on any typepad blogs lately.
