Christmas Tour of Homes!!!

Welcome to my home!

Come on in and make yourself comfortable. I’d love to show you my sparsely lovely decorated home. Walk with me….

The above picture is of my beautiful snowman that greets every visitor that comes through my front door. Isn’t he sweet! I purchased him at a crafts fair many years ago.

This here is a picture of my living room. In case you are wondering where my tree is, it is on this side of the room that I’m taking the picture from. Here is a picture of it below:

My husband is horrified that I have put up the fake tree. We normally make a day out of trekking out to the bush to chop a real tree down but this year our deep snowfall surprised us and came early so the fake one it is. See the snowhill outside on what use to be my front lawn.

My 1st ever Jesse Tree!

My dear friend hiked out to the bush to get me some Willow branches (apparently much more adventurous than we are!) and I’ve put them into a glass vase filled with clear stones.

Just some window decorating that my kids enjoy.

Ahh the ever growing village! The kids love setting it up and playing with this village scene. Each year on Boxing day we try to purchase a new piece for the set.

Today I noticed the kids added their own sign. It reads “Welcome to Bethlehem”

A picture of our beloved piano that my daughter plays beautifully. I have it decorated with some garland and mini lights and as well my large Santa.

I’d also like to show you a picture of my new 2006 ornament I purchased this year at Pier 1. It is an absolutely beautiful dated glass ornament that comes in its own gorgeous case.

Finally because I’m the hostess with the mostest, please don’t hesitate to have a cookie that I spent precious hours baking for you…..

What you don’t like burnt cookies?

Okay let me try again…..

Oh that’s better. Kris Kringle cookies with cranberries, pecans and white chocolate….just for you…enjoy!

Thanks for taking this tour with me. I hope you have enjoyed it. I am so looking forward to seeing how everyone else decorates!

Thanks to BooMama for the great party! It was fun!!

Merry Christmas!!!

What a cute little village - I’m sure that’s a big hit every year and picking out the newest addition must be a treat. What a lovely warm inviting home you have. Thanks for inviting us for a visit and thank you for the delicious snack. Pastormac ate from the first plate - he loves extra toasted cookies.

Love the Jesse Tree. I haven’t done one yet. Maybe next year. So cute how you put it in the jar with the stones. I needed an idea like that a few weeks ago for something and all I could come up with was using plaster of paris. Your idea is much better.

Okay in all the years I’ve known you I think this is the first time you’ve had a fake tree!! Oh and I’m loving the new fireplace, when did that happen??

Looks great chickie! Hopefully I’ll be in sometime next week to check things out in person…I’ll make sure the weather is good so I don’t have the same drama!

We got the fake tree about 7 years ago when we were trying to figure out all the allergies but we only used it for 2 years and then went right back to a real tree. We got the fireplace about a month ago…it is just an electric one.
Thanks everyone for your kind words…so nice!!!

What a cute idea with the Santa hat on the stair post. I have a collection of Snowmen myself so I adore the snowman too.

I think the Willow Branch vase is an adorable idea. And so simple. That is what I’m striving for this year…simplicity.

And the village pieces are wonderful too!

Thank you for letting me tour your place. It looks lovely. First, I’m so happy to see all the snow you have. I hope we get some here in PA this winter (it’s been in the mid-50s all week!). Second, I was so happy to see the Jesse Tree. This was a tradition of my husband’s family–I had never heard of it until I met him, and I love it.

    Thanks again!

I couldn’t see the photos the first time I came over here and suddenly this morning they popped right up. I don’t get it. At all. But I’m so glad I can see them.

I absolutely love your Jesse Tree made of willow branches. And your village. Your house is lovely, burnt cookies and all, although the ones that aren’t burnt do look a little more appetizing. And there are a lot of us out here hoping for a view out our windows that looks just like yours.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Thank you for the tour, Laura. Your home looks like a wonderful, warm place to be for the holidays.
