Happy New Year friends!! Here we are in 2018 and it’s time to put together our first menu plan of the new year! Yay! I’m not so good at flying by the seat of my pants when it comes to dinner and by that I mean if there is no plan we don’t eat near as well and I spend way too much money on groceries. And both of those things make life a little more stressful so a menu plan is of utmost importance to me. Are you ready to join me? I’m telling you once you see what a difference menu planning can make in your life, you’ll be hooked!
As for Christmas, it was a nice holiday break. We had our two oldest home from college but gosh does time fly. It felt like they just arrived and then they were leaving again. Goodbyes are tough especially when one of them in particular isn’t so good about staying in touch. Kids! It was so nice to have some time off to just hang out and relax with my family. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday as well.
Recipe Motivation:
One of the things I wanted to talk about with you today is one of the biggest stumbling blocks that I find people run into when it comes to menu planning. To avoid getting stuck in a rut it’s important to stay motivated and inspired by the recipes you choose and by that I don’t mean fancy or difficult at all. Sometimes we can just get into the routine of eating the same recipes over and over which can lead to boredom. Or we get over zealous by picking recipes that take too long to prepare and we run out of the steam we need to actually make them.
Having good sources for recipes is also especially important if you follow a certain diet or have made some healthy eating goals for 2018. As you know I eat Paleo and I totally know for a fact that it wouldn’t be possible AT ALL if I didn’t menu plan ahead of time each week. I couldn’t do it. I hate cooking so with a little advance prep I can choose recipes that will get me in and out of the kitchen fast while still maintaining my Paleo diet. Healthy meals don’t just happen, at least not for me. The path to health begins with a plan.
If healthy recipes is something that interests you, the Ultimate Bundles team has put together a HUGE selection of some pretty awesome recipes. How do I know? Because I created the menu plans for them using the recipes from this bundle. This is the project I was working on before Christmas. I literally went page by page through EVERY single recipe book included and there are many. They’ve been organized into a variety of healthy categories. You actually have the option this time of purchasing the entire bundle OR just the category (and meal plans) that work for you and your family.
