Hi gorgeous people! I’m happy to bring you another monthly recap complete with some super helpful organizing resources. It’s been such a great summer month full of company and relaxation. I still can’t believe I have two kids that have graduated now!! I really don’t feel old enough to be able to say that, ha! My youngest has been away with his grandparents these last few weeks and the house has been super quiet but that all ends tomorrow when he flies home. My sister and her two young girls are flying with him to come for a visit for 10 days and I’m just so excited about it. My nieces have never seen the mountains so we will definitely be fixing that 🙂
What I’m Reading:
I’ve been curled up right here on my deck a lot this past month reading, more about my cozy, private deck HERE.
One of those books that I’ve been wanting to read for awhile is this one called The Little Book of Hygge, The Danish Way to Live Well (affiliate link). I’m only half way done but it’s interesting because it’s all about how the Danish do “coziness” so well. From how to create a certain mood and atmosphere in your home to living in harmony and in the present moment, these are just some of the contributing factors to living a life well. It’s the art of creating intimacy and the absence of annoyance which right there is my entire premise for wanting to be organized and live a life of simplicity. I’m really enjoying the book so far.
What I’m Eating:
Well if you’ve been reading the blog this month you know that I simply cannot get enough of this salsa. So many of you asked for the recipe and I finally had a chance to post it for you. Make it this weekend, you’ll be so happy you did!
My Purge Piles:
This month I had two purge piles that went out to the thrift store for donation. Purging isn’t something you do once a year but rather something that is just an everyday natural part of of life.
Power Pickup:
This weekend if you are looking around your home overwhelmed with where to start may I suggest you start with a Power Pickup? I shared this technique on the blog this past month and I think you’ll find it helpful for getting a handle on all the stuff. Do it now and then you can kick back and relax 🙂
