Hi gang, welcome back to the 2nd week of Org Junkie’s Friday’s Featured Favorites. I got three comments on last week’s first edition so I’m not sure if that means you weren’t crazy for the new feature or not. It’s summer and everyone’s busy so I’m going to go with that 🙂 lol
I’ve been a purging machine lately. My parents are visiting in August and there is nothing like company coming to ramp things up a bit. Here is my purge pile from this week on its way to the thrift store. I was completely ruthless and it felt GREAT!
Mainly it’s all from my linen closet reorganization (which I hope to post about next week) and some organizing I did in my kitchen. Plus 11 pairs of shoes!! My goodness I must be ill 🙂
Follow me on Instagram to see more of my weekly purge pile pictures.
So I found some more awesome organizing links for you this week. I hope you like!

What I’m Loving:
I think I’ve mentioned this another time on here but this tea is an absolute favorite of mine. Love, love, love this Tetley Earl Grey Vanilla. It’s so good!
I got some good mail this week. I get so excited when I see my Getting Organized magazine in the mailbox! It’s a great little magazine all about organizing. If you would like more information about this magazine you can find it here.
What are you loving on this week?
Have a great weekend everyone!!
Mo says
That tea is also one of my favs! I only ever buy it as a treat, since the giant boxes of regular tetley are so much cheaper.
I also got my Getting Organized magazine this week! Some great tips in there!
This week I have been loving my veggie garden, as much trouble as it can be sometimes, I just love pulling turnips and cutting lettuce for dinner!
Laura says
Yes I know what you mean Mo. I usually stock up when I see it on sale for $2.00 a can which happens every so often at Walmart.

I just got rid of 8 giant black garbage bags of “stuff” and it is so freeing! But seeing that you are still purging a lot of stuff (and clearly you are more organized than I am!), I guess that’s a job that is never done. 🙂 Even in large amounts!
Laura says
It’s only done if you live in a bubble and stay still lol. Yep I purge regularly and just keep adding to the donation station I keep in my linen closet.
Eric Prado says
I’ve got a question. How can I convince my wife to organize or give away some of her stuffs like bags and shoes? It just feels that our room is filled with her personal belongings which make me feel overwhelmed.
Laura says
Hi Eric, thanks for stopping by! Yes it can be extremely difficult when only one side of the relationship cares about being organized. My hubby for instance doesn’t like to throw anything away! But as much as I’d like to go in and toss all his stuff, I don’t as that would be disrespectful. However my secret is to help him find homes for everything that doesn’t involve stacks on the floor. Using containers to establish limits and boundaries also works well. It’s a visual reminder to those that don’t like to make decisions about stuff that they’ve come to the end of the storage and in order to had anything new then something else will need to go.

Love the fabric covered storage bins. I hate to see ugly plastic in my closet and this is just the cure. Plus, it’s making me think outside of the box about covering other things. Thanks!
Laura says
Whoot, that’s what I like to hear!!
Donna says
I never comment on blogs, which is strange since I’m quite the talker, but I love the favorites stuff. I love your blog so of course I’m interested in any of your opinions.
Laura says
Ahh thanks for letting me know Donna that you like the new series. I appreciate that!!
Susanne says
You’ve been a busy girl. Took a peek at your instagram page and saw the shoes that went. You are one strong woman. ;v) And how is it that you guys have a Target and they by passed us? We must be the only city in Alberta where they didn’t go. I purged some books this week, btw, can you believe it? Me, purging books. What is the world coming to?
Laura says
LOL…I know I went a little crazy with the shoes. I just get on a roll like that sometimes and before I knew it 11 pairs of shoes were heading out my door. Yikes!!
Even though I still have to drive two hours to get to Target it’s not too bad. We go a couple of times a month just for something to do 🙂
Books are so hard to purge. I’ve been reading books using my Kindle app on my iPad and am loving it even if I can’t smell the book (which I love to do…hahaha).

Fabulous blog! I’ve signed up for your email updates. I really need to know how to motivate my husband (who holds onto EVERYTHING!) Every time I clear things out, his clutter moves in. But I’m inspired by your example and I’m not giving up!
Laura says
No don’t give up Maggie! My hubbie keeps everything too and it is definitely frustrating. I write about that now and again here but I need to do it again soon for sure 🙂
Robin from Frugal Family Times says
I love those round tetley tea tins for organizing in drawers! I have them all next to each other to hold hair doodads in the bathroom and small things in the kitchen. 🙂
Laura says
That’s a great idea Robin!!

Love the new series. Keep ’em coming, please!

I don’t always comment but I enjoy these posts! I love “finding” other awesome things around blog land without having to search them out for myself:) Thank you!
Tracie says
I love your blog! It has been sooooo helpful to me! I live in a small space so I try to conserve space as much as possible, and as far as my purses and handbags I figured out a solution that works for me. I hang them on a skirt hanger that holds multiple skirts–only mine holds the bags! I just attach them by the handles, 1 to each clip and it works perfect!
Laura says
My daughter does this too!

I like the pic. Looks like the organizing genius gene runs in your family! 🙂
Katherine says
I like these weekly round ups a lot better than the monthly linkups! Please continue them!
Tiffany says
I, too, love your blog. I feel inspired after reading it, and often refer back to favorite posts when I lack motivation or direction. You are truly making a difference in this world. Thank you!!!
Laura says
Thanks Tiffany!!
Abby @ Just a Girl and Her Blog says
Thank you so much for including my “How I Organized My Whole Life” post, Laura! I’m so thrilled to be featured among so many great reads. (I really loved Courtney’s closet organization tip too!) Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I love to see what products other people are diggin’ . . . so please keep the posts up 🙂 I’m currently loving my Bunn My Cafe coffee maker and trying out different K-Cups off Amazon. Maybe I’m a little behind, but I refused to buy an actual Keurig. Also I am loving Half Pops (IF you can find them). I ordered some off Amazon after the store we bought them from ran out and was unable to keep them in stock due to popular demand.

I love the storage bins & the purse hanger idea!! I have been pinning ideas to make a home binder & think I will start on next week. I love tea, but have never hear of the Earl Grey Vanilla. I will be looking for it.
Becky Lowmaster says
Well, I loved on Container Store yesterday. I had coupon to use there so I bought a bigger photo organizer which was on sale. I have tons of photos to sort through and I like their system. Then purused the store, kitchen area a favorite of mine. Bought a drawer organizer after calling my daughter for measurements since she was home. Came home, looked at the drawer and then realized she’d measured the silverware drawer imstead. Sigh! Hope it fits as well. So we are gonna switch drawers since utensil drawer is not as wide. We’re not moving so changing the kitchen a bit shouldn’t be a big issue. We’ll just open the wrong drawer for awhile. After 23 years in same house, there is some routine. Right? Blogging it soon. Have a good weekend.

Great post!

I like these weekly posts much better than the monthly roundups. I know all the ideas you share are great but the monthly or even every other month ones were overwhelming! I’d flag them in my reader to read later but we all know that never happens 😉 Thanks for trying something new, it’s great!
Mique says
Thanks so much for the link to my family binder. I only hope to be as organized as you some day! Even though I don’t have family coming to visit, I need to get on board with purging. 😉 Have a fabulous week!

Thanks for including my purse hook idea!
