One of the top resolutions each year is to get organized. So I’ve teamed up with six other organizing bloggers to help you do just that. Together we are running a HUGE organizing challenge for the entire month of January, starting next Monday!! By the end of the month we are hoping to have helped you organize FOUR areas of your home!! Each week you’ll have four days to organize an assigned space in your home and then post the results on your blog or your Pinterest board and link up with us so we can see what you’ve been up to. Not only that but every Friday through Sunday we’ll open up the linky for voting and everyone will get the opportunity to vote for their favorites. To provide you with some motivation to get it done, we are offering some fantastic prizes to the entries that get the most votes….there will be THREE winners each week!
This is going to be AWESOME!!
We are calling in New Year’s Organizing REVOLUTION instead of organizing resolutions because let’s face it, resolutions don’t always stick. So let’s forget about silly resolutions and declare a REVOLUTION instead, but just not the violet kind 🙂
A revolution is defined as a sudden, complete or marked change in something so that’s what we are going to do. At the end of January and this challenge you’ll be well on your way to making 2013 your most organized year yet! This is a time for resolutions that actually work and revolutionize your life! Can I get a whoot, whoot!!
Timeline:
Each Monday starting, December 31st, we will announce the room, or area, and give you ALL week to work on that space – even if it’s just a drawer in that area or the WHOLE room {it’s totally up to you}. Then, YOU take pictures – nice ones with your cell phone or you camera. You post them on your blog or on your Pinterest board and we are going to have a HUGE link party and everyone will VOTE on whose they like the best. So YOU can win!!

My house is a disaster, I hate being in it, and had hoped to do some organizing over the holiday break to make it at least livable. Unfortunately, I ended up with so much work work to do that the best I’ve managed was to clean off one very small table. Of course I’m not sure it’s possible to fix the house because the problem is really me, but this contest makes me want to try again. Looking forward to tomorrow’s post with how to link to the party from pinterest because I couldn’t figure out how to link in that button LOL.

Planning on participating…. Posted here on my blog!

Laura,
I only have AOL., no twitter, pinterest, etc. I would still like to take the daily challenges with everyone. What a great way to nudge those of us who do better with organizing by challenges. Thank you ahead of time,
Jackie
Patrice says
Woo Hoo – can’t wait!!!
Kathy says
I’m fairly organized but this challenge is really interesting! I’m going to use the challenge! I have stuff put away but not always in the best places. So here we go!
hsmominmo says
Your 28 Day Challenge last year was so good for me that I’ll jump in again. It’s been reward enough to have those areas in my home still organized and functional!
Questions – can we link up multiple times or just once? Are we to begin the project on Monday, or can we continue a project that is already started?
I see how a Pinterest Board link would continually be updated, but my initial blog post would not be the one showing all the progress I’ve made.
Just trying to plan this out in my brain! So excited – thank you again Laura, for lighting a fire under me!
Laura says
Hi there, yes for sure you can link up multiple times with separate links. You can definitely use a project you’ve already started. We aren’t requiring any before shots or anything like that.
Glad you’ll be participating with us!!

I found this blog after searching for organizing ideas on Pinterest, I had planned to clean and organize my office this next week anyway, including painting and curtains etc. When I saw the calendar and the first week was ‘office/desk’ I knew this challenge was MEANT for me. I’m a little embarrassed to post a before photo, but its worth it, I’m super motivated!
Erica says
Hi! One question for clarification- do I link up to all 7 blogs, or the one where I originally found out about it. Same thing for voting- do I go to all 7 blogs, or just one?
Thanks for the help!
Erica
Laura says
Hi there, no please only link up on one of our blogs as we are all using the exact same linky which means you’ll only be able to cast your vote once as well. Hope that helps!
Jodi says
Even if we live overseas and cannot claim a prize, can we still link up to the organizing challenge?
Laura says
Hi Jodi, while you can’t add your link to the official linky we would love to have you link up in the comments section so we can still check out what you’ve done. 🙂
Sica says
This is my blog for the Organized Revolution Challenge. Happy Organizing!
Sica says
Since my link didn’t post before, here it is again.

Thanks!

I just figured out what happened. In the future, could you make it a little more obvious where we need to post our information because I thought that the site on how to link a pintrests was just for that, not for blog posts.
Then when I read the whole page, it mentions, at the bottom, how to post your url site at the frog link. Unfortunatly, I did not know or see that until today. So I guess I will not be able to par-take of this challenge. Not that I expected to win but it is nice to share and be a part of the process.
Don’t get me wrong, I think that it is great that this is a HUGE linking party but with all of that information on the same page, the little tiny frog gets lost in the shuffle.
Thank you,
Sica
