Yep me too! And all it took for my sister-in-law to disguise all that visual clutter were two lovely Debbie Travis containers from Canadian Tire:
That’s a quick fix with a huge return!
Less clutter = less chaos
Less chaos = less stress
Repeat it with me.
Less clutter = less chaos
Less chaos = less stress
Ahhh, it’s music to my ears. Hey you know what I need? I need a clutter rehab song. Oh and a dance to go with it! Wouldn’t that be fun! I could totally take it on the road….hahahaha!! Could you see it now….Laura from I’m an Organizing Junkie, live and onstage…will work for containers!!

Looks great! We are about to do that with our CDs…do people still buy those? =p

That just reminded me of what I did with my son’s game area. I’ll try to show it for my 52 week organizing post this weekend. For some reason the tune of yankee doodle dandy came to mind – Oh I’m an organizing Junkie… 🙂

Writing songs is part of my job (I’m a music therapist – board certified). E-mail me some lyric ideas and I would be honored to put it to music for you 🙂

Nice, fast re-do! 🙂
Our TV armoires are “black hole” areas! One if them holds years and years of old pictures, albums, etc., and I really want to get it all organized and condensed, but it will not be a quick job, so I keep waiting until I have a BIG chunk of time to pull it all out. Yeah, one of THOSE projects! 🙂

I love containers. Of any size or shape. Even as I get rid of stuff in our house, I cannot get rid of containers, even if they are empty. I mean, what if I *need* to put some item in something one day? I *need* to have the containers handy, right?
My idea of a fun afternoon? Other than a bookstore, going to the Container store or Ikea. Am I at the right blog for this problem? :-b

This was my lunch-hour (half hour? 15 minutes is more like it) diversion. I laughed outloud about the song! YES! We need a theme song! Will work for containers…another chuckle!.
Organizing…or dreaming about it…can be FUN!

Hahahaha!! I love it! (Both the containers and the song and dance idea). I swear my eyes felt more relaxed looking at the second picture.

I miss Canadian Tire. Sigh. Great job on the clutter control!

WOW – amazing what two containers can do for a space!
You should DEFINITELY come up with a catchy jingle that we can use while we declutter… like the Barney Clean Up song, only less gag inducing.
“Will work for containers.” — priceless! As always, love your enthusiasm!

I like that! I really need to get a few of those. Looks much better!

Wow that looks very nice! I need to do something similar in my son’s room. I have tried from time to time to use baskets for the games and controllers and it works for so long and then of course he is 12 so it doesn’t keep like for too long. The before and after are great!

Great I like it…Less SPACIOUS too…

Just a word to the wise, you can get containers EXACTLY like these at IKEA… we use them in our toy room.

To really make it look uncluttered the wires need to go. I was absolutely shocked to discover how ridiculously easy it was to hang our tv on the wall and thread all the cords through the wall behind it to come out at the bottom behind the tv stand that holds all the components. We now have the tv, sound bar, tivo, play station3 all without any visible cords. The video game stuff is neatly stored in a Longaberger basket. Hooray!
