Twas the day before Christmas and all through the house I’m organizing
What is it about Christmas that makes the nesting instinct kick in on overdrive for me? Well I think it’s called procrastination that’s what…LOL. I’m not a fan of being in the kitchen so when I needed a serving platter out all of a sudden I had an overwhelming urge to haul everything out of that cabinet and re-organize it. I’m suppose to be making stuffing but instead I now have an organized cupboard. It’s all good, I’ll leave the door open and that should distract everyone from the fact that THERE IS NO STUFFING! Somehow I don’t think that’s gonna cut it. All right back to the kitchen I go but not without first saying…Merry Christmas everyone!

I swear you are my long lost sister. Last night I stayed up until 12:30 organizing the utility room (I think I went down there to find some cereal). Now it is Christmas Eve and I am running around pulling dinner together at the last minute before heading off to church.
Merry Christmas my organizing friend! I am seriously trying to fight the urge today. I did go through all of the kids toys last night and wrapped all of the presents this morning. I really feel like reorganizing some things in the kitchen but if I start and don’t finish it will not be a good thing. Hmmm. We are leaving for the weekend the day after Christmas but I will for sure be working on some new organizing projects when I get back.
Have a very Merry Christmas:-)
LOL thanks for sharing, Laura. I do the same thing and re-organize as a “productive” form of procrastination. Have a very merry Christmas. I hope food prep is more fun this year with that snazzy new KitchenAid mixer from Pioneer Woman. 🙂
You are a hoot!
Don’t feel too bad – I’m baking Pillsbury tonight, and I don’t bake Pillsbury. But it was that or nothing.
Have a wonderful Christmas (and if you get tired of that snazy new mixer, look me up, wink, wink!)
I found myself organizing my office when I should have been wrapping presents on Wednesday. The pull to organize the office was a lot stronger than wrapping that day. Thankfully, reality hit and I stopped but the pull of the office to get it organized is getting stronger and stronger. I’ve set aside January as organize all closets and that office. Thanks for your blog and “Merry Christmas.”
In the midst of all that needed to be done for Christmas, I decided that I absolutely positively could not stand the clutter in the garage for another moment…so yesterday I Freecycled exercise equipment that was taking up a much needed 6’x6′ area of garage space. The condition for receiving it was picking it all up yesterday.
We also most didn’t have Christmas Eve dinner because I was distracted, but the garage looks great!!!
Thank you for sharing this! I just thought I was the only one! While the kids decorated cookies yesterday, I cleaned the bakery cabinet. It felt good and was productive use of the “downtime” while the I was waiting on cookies to bake. Merry Christmas!
I need to go make a berry crisp. We were at our son’s last night and by the time we got home I was too tired to make it. So am making it today and then ham in the oven. I did clear off the table, mostly, last night. So did some cleaning myself…not massive. But will soon.
And I will work on my quilt that never got finished but that is my year end resolution to get it out to brother-in-law!!! I already told them something was coming late so I have to do it! :0)
Merry Christmas!!
Your funny! I get side tracked like that all the time.
haha this is so funny and sooo true. It sounds more like my hubby than me though. We were suppose to be in cleaning mode yesterday for our breakfast this morning. Every time I went into the kitchen he was reorganizing something when he needed to be do something else…like preparing his signature dishes. He always gets like that when we are crunched for time and need to focus.
Anyway on another note. I love your blog and especially your new blog design. I am actually working with Michelle from Cupcake Blog design right now for my blog. I thought she did such a fabulous job on yours I hired her for mine.
Thanks for all of your useful tips. They are so helpful. Tammy
Oh too funny. I did the same thing yesterday when I was looking for my pan to bake in. It feels good to get something organized while accomplishing something else too.
Merry christmas and thank you for the help in learning how to be organized in my life. You were the first blog I followed and it has helped me so much and my family truly thank you too!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would trade stuffing any day of the week for the ability to organize.
Merry Christmas
