Fave Five for Friday

My lovely friend Susanne of Living to tell the Story has asked us what are our five favorite things from this past week are so I thought I’d play along. Here is my list of five things that made me happy this week:

School supplies!

My attempt at decorating with beautiful (yet fake) gerber daisies. I’ve added bunches around my house. I absolutely heart daisies!

(I always kill real plants so this is the next best thing)

A whole slew of beach trash books from the thrift store. Perfect for light summer reading! My girlfriend that owns the store hand selected these for me, so sweet.

This fort in the basement has kept my kids occupied for hours this week!

Finally this beautiful necklace that arrived in the mail from Etsy seller, marymnoel, this week. I spent hours searching for just the right thing to hold and collect business cards when I attend the Professional Organizer’s Conference in November. I wanted to be able to quickly exchange cards with someone without having to rummage through my bag each time. Maybe it’s dorky, I don’t know, I think it’s brilliant. Making life easier (even in the little things) makes me very very happy!

Have a great weekend everyone 🙂

  1. I love Daisies too! That yellow one is sooo fun! And the books, look at those books! Somehow I knew you’d have some new organizing thing to show us! Now how did I know that? Love it!

Thanks for playing along, Laura! Loved your faves!

  2. Um, I see a smiley face thingy next to the books. I LOVE smiley face thingys. What is it exactly and can I have it LOL? Okay where did you get it?
I think your business card thing is cool. But I’m really not one to talk.
    Blessings,
    Kim

  3. Kim, I love smiley faces too! My son bought me the one you see in the photo from the dollar store I believe for Christmas. It is a piggy bank and he picked it out all by himself. I love it!

  4. Ah! I love the business card organizer!! I was just looking for something like that tonight to put my business cards in. LOL what a great idea!!

  5. LOL I also kill real plants. When we bought this house, I said to the estate agent (that’s what we call them; you call them realtors?) that we had to have a low-maintenance garden. And that’s exactly what we have. The plants do their own thing and we have a guy who comes in every 2 – 3 weeks to mow the lawn.

    Lovely 🙂

    have a great weekend

  6. Hey why am I not on there…wasn’t I one of your favs this week???

I have a necklace thing like that that I used for Disneyland…of course it is pink and has princesses on it. It was really handy for my tickets and credit card and cash.

  7. “Forts” are always a huge hit at my house too. Unfortunately, we don’t have a basement, so they are usually in the living room! 😉

  8. I think the card holder will work great in a conference situation or trade show, whatever! I wouldn’t walk around with it all the time, but hey – anytime I might need cards, it would be a great contraption to have. 🙂

  9. Cool necklace. I wonder if I could get one to use as a wallet, surely to goodness I could not lose that. I wish I was going to the conference too but my co-workers will be there and they are excited to meet you in person. (they have been instructed to take a picture) have a great week.

  10. I love the colour coordination of all the books! What a GREAT FRIEND!!!
I also the fact that your love for daisys is reflected in the card holder!!! I believe that they are called “crazy daisies”…. any conection

  11. I feel silly that I got excited by the titles and authors of your light summer reading books! There really is nothing like a light hearted romance to perk up your spirits and give you a warm fuzzy feeling inside!
