The Gratitude Dance!

I’ve discovered that even though I tried so hard not to, truth be told, I’ve over indulged during the past month. In everything it seems, big time, and I’m sick of it. I started out with such good intentions and somewhere along the line I got carried away. Somewhere along the line I gave myself permission to do so.

I could play the victim and just continue on in misery making excuses and beating myself up but let’s face it, I made those choices, me, and no one else. I chose to overspend and overeat and now I realize the error of my ways. What I know for sure though is that the “whoa is me” attitude is not for me. I control what I do with my money and I control what I put in my mouth.

TODAY I can choose to make different choices. Better choices. I can choose to re-align my priorities, take care of my health, be thankful for what I have and be grateful for God’s abundance.

Yes, I definitely choose to be grateful.

I’m choosing to do the GRATITUDE DANCE (this video makes me smile everytime, enjoy!)

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” — Hebrews 12:11

  1. Me too! In fact, I felt very guilty yesterday for all the wanting I’ve had lately.

Hubs and I have an abundance of things- a nice house, nice laptops, nice furniture, a great kitchen..I have much to be grateful for and all I did all weekend was want, want, want.

This is a great post that’s helping me focus on what I already have 🙂

Another reason I’ll be sticking around :o)

  2. Hi again Laura!

I hardly ever comment here but I’m an everyday lurker. Just had to tell you today how inspiring this post was. It is so easy to get caught up in the wants of the season, as well as the overindulgences. I’m guilty, and this post was a great reminder to refocus!

  3. (This is comment #2. It ate my first one) I overindulged too. But you are right. I am in control of all of that and I’m taking the control back. Thanks for the post!

  4. I’m there too! I know what you mean. You are so right about switching the attitude and being grateful for what we have and committing to make better choices.

  5. Dont be too hard on yourself. You are not alone.

I think with all the commercialism, we all find it easy to fall into the trap of wanting more than we need.

Thank you for reminding me to be grateful for what I have.

  6. Very cool video. Upbeat and happy! Your Bible verse touched me more – too many people associate discipline as negative when it actually produces the best results.
I will be disciplined about keeping my commitment to clean out my junkie kitchen drawers…. Guess I will go do one now. Accomplishing goals is so sweet! Thanks!

  7. You sound just like me. I way over did the eating thing this Holiday. It is the first time in about 3 years that I totally over did it and now I’m so regretting not being more strict about what went over the lips, cuz now it’s on my hips and I’ve kicked myself in the pants to get myself in gear and back to healthy eating. Thanks for your blog!
