Most of you know by now that I love containers, baskets, totes….storage bins of any kind really. I posted about it here. I often get people saying to me though that there are just so many different kinds to choose from that they don’t know where to start. So every once and awhile I will post a different type of container that “Works for Me” and let you know why.
This week are the plastic stackable bins which typically I believe are used for potatoes and onions. I like to use them for bath toys. This works for me for a number of reasons. First they stack so it takes advantage of vertical space. They are deep so it holds bigger toys. They are open which allows the kids easy access to toy selection prior to their baths…..AND as well allows the toys to air dry afterwards. These are items we use everyday so keeping them in some type of closed storage bin wouldn’t make any sense for us. Finally clean up is a snap…..I like to keep things as easy as possible for my kids…..better buy in to the process that way.
I also use a set of these bins underneath my bathroom sink to hold small bottles of shampoo, lotion and soap….things that I want to remain upright to avoid accidental spills.
Okay so thats it for today. For tons and tons more handy dandy tips and tricks visit Shannon at Rocks in My Dryer.

Great Idea! I am going to have to use this one! My son is 6 months old… but already refuses to take a bath with out his 100 rubber duckies 🙂 But it is worth it because if he is entertained.. he does not seem to mind water being poured over his head… and that is HUGE!

Wonderful idea, as usual. I am so not creative – I look at bins made for potatoes and can’t think past the spuds. Thanks for posting these alternate uses – I love them.

Thanks for this tip! We just redid the bathroom floor with a beautiful ceramic tile and I didn’t want to put back the bath toys. I was thinking of what container I could use instead of the icky bowl we had before. And now I know!

Keep the great ideas coming! I am going to use this for under our bathroom sink (because there really isn’t floorspace for it on the floor). We keep the bath toys in a pretty open basket on the back of the toilet tank for toys. I might send you a pic sometime.

Great idea like usual. We use the mesh one that sticks to the top of the bathtub surround and we have one other roundish smaller bin for the larger toys that sits in the tub.
Have a great day!

First time here, I am a organizing junkie as well! Love your site! I’ve used the suction cup-like baskets that hand on the walls but they never stay! I like your idea better. Thanks for sharing!
