The following is a guest post with 4 tips for kitchen organizing using canisters from regular contributor, Yuni at Love Your Abode.
The kitchen is naturally the heart of our home and the place where I spend the most time. Since I spend a lot of time in here, I like to have things in a certain way so that it’s easily accessible yet organized and tidy. One of my favorite ways to organize and display everyday kitchen items is through the use of canisters. Today, I’m sharing some simple ways to utilize canisters in your home to organize and store everyday items.
4 Tips for Kitchen Organizing Using Canisters
Tip 1: Store your most used ingredients for easy access.
We do a lot of baking and cooking in our kitchen and I use these glass canisters to display some of the foods we eat all the time. This includes my homemade pancake mix, oatmeal, quinoa and paleo chocolate chips. It looks pretty displayed there on the counter and it makes for easy access when we are cooking with those ingredients. I added chalkboard labels so it can easily be changed.
Tip 2: Store unlikely items like cupcake liners, cookie cutters, party supplies, etc.
Another way to utilize canisters is holding baking items like cupcake liners. Sadly, I have shattered a couple of those glass lids so instead of tossing them out all together, I store items that don’t necessarily need a top. This is all placed in the cabinet right above those other glass canisters since all of my baking supplies are in one area. You could also store other baking items like cookie cutters and candles.
Tip 3: Contain cooking utensils
Canisters are also a great way to hold your cooking tools like spatulas and wooden spoons. This looks clean and pretty on the counter because of the monochromatic color scheme. I go back and forth from keeping these out on the counter to storing them all underneath my bottom cabinet.
Tip 4: Store foods such as cookies, coffee, tea, etc.
Some canisters come with a rubber lid so this makes for better food storage. I keep these marbled canisters on the counter to hold our Christmas cookies for my kids and guests. I love how pretty and functional they are. They also make great storage containers for coffee and tea.
Some other ideas could be to use them to hold flowers like a vase or hold art supplies like crayons and markers.
I hope you found these tips helpful and I would love to hear how you use canisters in your own home for organization purposes.
