Hi everyone! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Here in Canada today is a Statutory Holiday so we are enjoying a lovely long weekend. And would you believe it actually snowed here last Friday. Yep, so crazy and it’s been raining steady ever since. But you won’t hear me complaining, we needed rain so bad and now will hopefully not have to worry about forest fires for awhile.
So with it being so cold this past weekend I decided I needed some soup in my life. I whipped up my favorite Roasted Butternut Squash and Bacon Soup and have basically eaten it for multiple meals for two days straight. Yum!!
I bought a new cookbook at Costco this past weekend too that I’m super excited about called Ditch the Wheat, 120 Paleo Recipes. It looks so good with easy uncomplicated recipes, can’t wait to try them out. I’ll keep you posted.
Free Knife Skills for Kids Course
Finally you all know how I feel about getting kids into the kitchen to help out. Everyone eats the dinner, everyone should be helping out. It’s not always easy to do and it definitely can be more work in the beginning but trust me when your teens start making dinner all on their own you’ll be so thankful! Katie from Kitchen Stewardship offers a Kids Cook Real Food ecourse that does cost $$ but a few times a year opens up and offers the Knife Skills for Kids part of the course for FREE. Important skills so you don’t have to worry about them hurting themselves while helping you out. You can check it out HERE if you are interested in more information. Just wanted to give you the heads up.
Here’s what we’ll be eating this week.
My Weekly Menu Plan:
Monday: Slow Cooker Whole Chicken served with rice and mixed veggies
Tuesday: Paleo Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burgers
Wednesday: Turkey and Bacon Lettuce Wraps with Basil-Mayo
Thursday: Leftover buffet
Friday: Pizza Party Friday Night! and for me Honey Garlic Shrimp Skillet
Saturday: Paleo Chicken and Avocado Caesar Salad
Sunday: YOYO (you’re on your own!)
Have a wonderful week everyone!!

The knife skills for kids sounds really interesting! That’s an area that I haven’t done as much with my own kids.

Bless your heart, I’m sorry you had snow! It was “cool” here, in the high 60’s and low 70’s. I figured if we were cool in the South that my Northern friends would be freezing!
