Thanks to everyone who participated in the playroom round-up. I’m anxiously looking forward to a free moment to have a look at them all! To find out more about what the round-up is all about visit here.
This month we will be focusing on our bathroom or bathrooms depending on how energetic you feel 🙂
Bathrooms if we aren’t careful tend to get cluttered very easily. With the amount of stuff that we need to store in them it’s no wonder. We’ll spend some time this month on the various areas of the bathroom and some organizing solutions that will help you make sense of what you have and establish some limits and boundaries at the same time.
Don’t forget to follow the PROCESS though. I know it’s tempting to want to jump right to the containerizing part (trust me, I know!) but before you can do that you need to spend some time on the Remove, Sort and Purge steps. This will pay off big time for you later by saving you money on storage solutions you might not even necessarily need after you decide you don’t really need all 400 of those little hotel shampoos you’ve been collecting. You will decide that right? Right? Seriously who am I to talk I’ve got a few of them myself 🙂
Some of you will remember the post I did on the organizing my sister-in-law did under her bathroom sink. She did such a great job I just have to show you the pictures again.
Before:
After:
I absolutely love those pull out baskets she purchased. I went online and found them available at the Container Store.
The best thing to do when tackling under your bathroom sink is to try and take advantage of vertical space similar to my sister in law did above using either drawers or bins. I use stacking bins (purchased from the dollar store) in my bathroom.
As you know there are just so many different ways to organize a space.
Also you’ll notice my sister in law used a separate basket for her cleaning supplies. It is such a great time saver to keep a supply of cleaning products in each bathroom for quick and easy cleanups. I found these same baskets inexpensively at my dollar store.
Well there you go, that should keep you busy for awhile 🙂
Happy Organizing!

That looks totally awesome.
My hubby solved our problem by getting rid of the bathroom cabinet and getting us a pedestal sink. I miss having the storage.

You’re supposed to have more than one bathroom?
Praise God for minimalists in the design realm.

I am SO going to do this. My bathroom is so unorganized. It is so easy to throw everything under the sink.
I know there is so much wasted storage and now that I am finding great deals with my coupons and CVS I need the room for my stash of toiletries.
Thank you for this inspiration. I will take a before and after picture and let you know how it goes!

Oh yay! I have just started working on our bathroom. I have recently started CVSing and see that I need to work on organizing the overflow. We only have one and it is tiny. Thanks for the challenge.

Oh my dear you need to see my new bathroom!
Hope you are coming out sometime soon!

I love the Cabinet-Sized elfa® Mesh Drawer Solution — but $83 bucks??? While it would be perfect, I’d have to look for something cheaper… sigh.
You’d be proud. I recently tackled our living room (which had become a storage/overflow area), and it looks great. Now, I think I’m thinking of changing our Living Room into a den and changing our den (has a door we can close) into a play room so I can take all the toys our of our family room.
Whew! My head is spinning!!!

This will be my first time participating in the Organizing Round-Up – and good timing, too, because my bathroom could certainly use come attention!
I have a pedestal sink in my bathroom, so no frightening under sink troubles, here. But my bathroom suffers from plenty of other organizational tragedies!

I’m so glad I stopped by today. I don’t even use the cabinet under my sink because it’s so full of stuff. I just bought some conatiners for what I use daily. Now, I’m going to get rid of all the stuff so I can put the containers away when not in use. This will be fun! Did I just say that?

You missed lazy susans – I have one under my bathroom sink & it works great.

I’m so looking forward to this round-up!
We have a pedestal sink in our bathroom but I can tell you that if we had an under-sink cupboard it would definitely look like the ‘before’ photo!

I love that mesh organizer! I might get a couple to organize under my sink

That’s so funny. I was cleaning out the drawers in my daughter’s bathroom yesterday, and thought I should tackle all the bathrooms, and wondered when you were going to make them the monthly topic.
It’s fate!
Elizabeth says
I am so happy this is the monthly topic! I’ve been wanting to join in and this is exactly where I need it right now 🙂

I am up for this challenge for sure! We don’t have a playroom, but we have 2 1/2 bathrooms, and they could sure use some improvement.

I have been working on the boys’ bathroom closet… what a mess. The area under my sink could use some help, too… I’m really looking forward to this month (although I think I’ve said that every month!) Thanks for hosting this year long carnival – I LOVE IT!

There you go again, inspiring us.:) Thanks, girl

Thanks for sharing the organizational tips AND pictures. We recently moved from a 3 bed/2 bath to a 2 bed/1 bath. Organizing and decluttering is highly important for us! Especially in the bathroom as we only have the cabinet under the sink – no other shelving or cabinet or closet space in there!
Hope you have a wonderful week!

I just found your site and this is a perfect project for me! We remodeled our bathroom last year and it WAS nicely organized. While it isn’t terrible right now, I do need to go back and re-work what isn’t right. WIth baby #4 on the way in about 10 weeks, I’m eager to go back through some of your previous posts to fine tune other areas in our home!

I love those baskets, I have a few in the house and they are amazing.

I have such a tiny bathroom that all I have is a pedestal sink. When I bought the house, I planned on buying a sink w/ counter/cabinet but lo-and behold, they don’t make any small enough for my bathroom! Luckily the narrowest set of plastic drawers just fits between the sink and tub!!
Marilyn Bohn says
Even before I got to your photos containers were in my mind for the bathroom. They are a must for keeping under the sink and in drawers organized so things can be found and found fast.
Christy says
I am so excited to begin organizing here. I tend to try to do too much and get overwhelmed and just stop (I am sure that you have heard that a lot)!
With that being said…I have two bathrooms that have cabinets under the sink and one with a pedestal sink. I can’t wait to get started.

I’ve been thinking about organizing under my bathroom sink lately, so this post is perfect! Thank you for the container ideas.
