Menu Plan Monday ~ Dec 3rd

Happy Monday everyone!!

How did your week of menu planning go? I was able to stick to mine last week so that was pretty good except for the fact that although the recipes I used were all okay none were what I would call excellent. I’m hoping I pick some good ones this week. I’m looking forward to trying the Taco Meatloaf that Susanne raves about.

I have a friend that wants to menu plan but for whatever reason she just doesn’t. Well I’ve just discovered an internet site that takes ALL the work out of figuring out your weekly menu plans for those of you that do struggle with it or just don’t have the time. The site that offers this free service is called Wovenfare. Wovenfare is a weekly meal plan service which provides 6 delicious dinner-time solutions. There’s a meal, complete with main dishes, side dishes and accompaniments, planned for each week night and something special for Saturday. They also include the recipes and grocery list! I signed up for it just to see what it was all about and how it worked and I must say I’m very impressed. They email you a new menu plan, recipes and grocery list each week for FREE! The only time it costs you any $$ is if you want to personalize any part of your plan and even then it is very reasonable. I’m not associated with this site in any way nor do they even know I’m telling you about them. I just liked what I saw and wanted to pass it on.

So here is what we are eating this week:

Monday: Grilled cheese with tomato sandwiches and soup

Tuesday: Slow cooker Honey-Rosemary Chicken with Yukon Gold Potatoes

Wednesday: Taco Meatloaf served with rice and broccoli

Thursday: Leftover buffet

Friday: Thai Beef Salad with Crispy Noodles (Rachel Ray)

Thank you so much for coming here week after week! Happy menu planning!!

WHAT’S ON YOUR MENU?

    Hello all y’all!
I suppose that since I got a menu plan together, I now have to work on the budget element. I actually am only cooking three meals this week, for two people to enjoy, and my total came in at $80.
We still have to eat out 3 days, but we have gift certificate money for one of those, and on another it’s only me.
The Strip steaks were on sale, but were still $8.99/lb, so $12 there, but they were VERY good.
Then the scallops were an unusual extra, I spent $2 on the Sunday paper, and I got my wife some of one of her favorite snacks as pizza rolls were on sale this week.
Oh yeah, and the chicken was not on sale. I paid the extra $1/lb for the breast tenderloins because all the packages of breasts were 3 packs and were huge pieces of chicken. :)

Taco meatloaf? That sounds yum! My family is gaa-gaa for anything taco.

We’re trying something new this week - Slow cooker Oriental Chicken (the recipe is on my blog).

    Have an excellent week!

I have been considering offering a menu plan / grocery list as a service of Home Ec 101. (There is always room on the Internet, right?)

Sounds great! Menu Monday has helped keep me so much organized. Thanks!

I am so glad you were able to stick with your menu plan last week. Mine was a bust! Seriously. I thought once Thanksgiving was over, I’d have all kinds of time to cook and stuff, but it did not happen.

I dreamed about you and plastic containers last night. Oy. I think I am blogging too much! :-)

This is my first Menu Plan Monday; I used the Wovenfare menu with a couple of small changes since a brie sandwich might be just a tad over-the-top for my husband. :)
