Happy Thursday everyone! Well I’ve been a busy busy girl putting all our summer clothes away. This is one organizing task I don’t so much enjoy. There is something so sad about saying goodbye to summer and hello to winter. Although I must say I do love cold sunny sunny winter days. Unfortunately here where I live in the north though those two things rarely happen in combination. I keep all my seasonal clothes in totes under my bed so I swapped out the shorts for the turtlenecks. With the kids summer clothes I do one of two things. They either get stored in the closet or if it is an item that is just about too small and I definitely know that it won’t be fitting next summer I either put it in my Salvation Army bag or my consignment store tote…..except of course for my middle son’s clothes because I need to keep those for my youngest in which case I have totes in my storage room labelled “keeper boy’s clothes”. Did any of that make sense?
The other thing I got organized was the pile of kid’s workbooks stashed in the art centre….and you know how I knew it was time to sort through the stack….because I got tired of picking them up off the floor each time the baby thought it was hilarious to dump them out! Here is the stack we had to go through:
A lot of them were used up and needed to be pitched…..I love that part! Woohoo! We got it down to a much more manageable level which means less I’ll be picking up off the floor…lol.
Another thing I wanted to tell you about today is my lovely friend Jennifer over at Snapshot is hosting an exchange for gift giving ideas and she will have them listed in different categories to make it all nice and easy for us. So very organized! You’ll be able to get some great ideas or post your own and let her know and she’ll link it into the right catergory for you. Get more info here.
So today is Slow Cooking Thursday! I almost forgot so I’m going to pull out my beautiful Taste of Home Slow Cooker Classic magazine and find one marked YUM.
Okay, the recipe I am featuring today is so delicious and perfect for the approaching winter. Nothing like sitting down to a big bowl of stew when its chilly outside. This recipe I have made before and just LOVED it and I hope you do too. Ready? I’m going to just link up to it cause that is just so much easier. VEGETABLE BEEF STEW….enjoy! Thanks Sandra for hosting this!

I need to organize my kids art center also. It’s more like art all over the place at the time being, so your post has given me the nudge I need to get going on my own art center.
PS I will have to try this CP recipe.

I love your attitude. “Hello Thursday!” What a great way to greet the day. And you are seriously more organized than me. I thought I wrote that book! I’ve always put summer clothes away and brought winter clothes out and yes, I do the under the bed thing. One of my favorite new products is the Ziplock Big Bags, extra large size.
I’ve now come across three gift exchanges being hosted by our friends out here and plan to participate in all of them. Hope it’s OK to use one idea for all three since I’m pretty sure I can’t come up with three different ideas. 🙂
OK, on to Sandra’s slow cooking Thursday.

I do the clothes swapping thing too, except mine go in totes downstairs. Trouble is we get a cold spell and then and Indian summer and then we’re cooking in our heavier clothes so I always leave a t-shirt or two hanging around! :v)
