Welcome!
As promised here is my menu plan for this week. Please keep in mind that I like to keep things simple yet healthy if I can. Often my recipes come from the cooking magazines by Reiman Publications like Quick Cooking (QC), Light and Tasty (L&T), Simple and Delicious (S&D) and Taste of Home (TofH). Saturdays and Sundays I don’t usually plan in advance.
Monday Beef Fajitas with spinach salad
Tuesday Chicken Veggie Casserole (QC Nov/Dec 02 Pg 50)
Wednesday Slow Cooked Italian Pork Chops (QC Sept/Oct 02 Pg 49) with rice and broccoli
Thursday Leftovers
Friday Slow Cooked Hearty Hash Brown Dinner (QC July/Aug 05 Pg 51)
Saturday Speedy Southwest Salad (QC July/Aug 02 Pg 27)
Do you do menu planning in your family? If so, please share your menu on your blog and leave your link below. Feel free to use the header above. For those of you not currently menu planning but would like to then this might be just the start you need. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think of Menu Plan Monday.
Here is my blog about menu planning that I posted a couple of weeks ago.
Happy Eating!

I make a great spinach salad, but I always like new recipes. Can I have yours?
org junkie says
Thanks mom2fur! I don’t see your link yet but I think there might be a delay. Thanks for letting me know you posted so I can keep my eyes open for it.

Laura, what a great idea! Now, I have a meme-type idea for each weekday, oh, except for Fridays…anyone know one for Fridays? I have an idea for one, but I just don’t know…it’s too scary starting one of my own…I mean, what if no one else thought it was a good one. Plus, I’d need a graphic…too scary…
Anyhow, I “Mr. Linky”ed myself. 🙂
Deanne says
Well, it DID show up before I left a comment. Is Mr. Linky broken? *scratching my head*
Mom2fur says
I’ll have to save your logo to Photobucket so I can use it next time! Oh…and I guess julie julie bo boolie (LOVE that name, banana fanna fo foolie) should really have been first!
org junkie says
Gosh so sorry ladies. “Mister Linky” is looking into the problem for us. Hopefully it will be working soon.
Sandra says
Ooohhh I’m signing up for this too….going to you use your banner and then post my link on your blog 🙂

warpie says
Actually when I post it it shows, but when I come back later the link is gone, I’ve posted twice, apparently so have a few others.
Here’s my link anyway: http://warpie.blogspot.com/2006/07/menu-planning-monday.html
Beck says
I signed up, too, but I’m the only one showing up. Mr. Linky is broken!
Annie says
Okay I did it, there must be some problems with Mr. Linky…I hope it gets worked out. I guess it can’t go all that smooth on your first day doing this…that would be way too easy!!
Sandra says
I think it’s blogger acting nerdy again……typical LOL
org junkie says
Okay now the link box is gone so I know it is being worked on….hopefully soon……
Jodi says
What a great idea! I always do a menu before I go shopping. But am alway stuck in a rut for the same things every week. So this will give me ideas for future weeks!
Katie says
Super Idea!
GiBee says
Y’all are just CRACKING ME UP with all the Mr. Linky comments and problems! I know you’re being serious and all, but some of the comments are so funny … why??? Because MR LINKY was invented by a man. Sheesh! Of course there are going to be some kinks! If it were invented by a WOman it would be perfect. See? Now, don’t you find it funny too?
Jenny says
That was fun. I didn’t leave the recipes for anything. I couldn’t get my link to work.
Have a great day!
Jenny
Becky says

Jen says
What a great idea! This week will be weird for me since we have out-of-town family and we’ll probably eat at my mother-in-law’s house most of the week. But I’m going to bookmark you and participate next week!
2boysmama says
Menu planning has saved me! I use the cookbook Saving Dinner and I love it! I don’t even have to think up the menus because they are already made up complete with shopping list.
Julie Julie Bo Boolie says
Yay, it’s working now 🙂 Thanks for the great idea.. I thoroughly enjoyed my burger tonight … especially the part where I wasn’t scrambling around 5 p.m. wondering what I was going to make for supper!
momrn2 says
What a fun idea!! I’m not this organized but maybe eventually this will inspire me to think ahead a bit. I also think it will let me know whose house to stop by when for some great eating!! 🙂

I just found out about this through Gibee. I linked one of my older posts, showing an example of my menu planning style.
I’ve started a Five Ingredient Friday recipe exchange to help come up with quick, easy recipes to add to my weekly menu planner. I hope you’ll all stop by and take a look. 🙂

I just found out about this today through Gibee!
I’ve been doing menu planning for some time now and I linked one of my older posts to show my style.
I’ve also started a Five Ingredient Friday recipe exchange, to help gather quick and easy recipes for my weekly menu. I’d love to get more participants in the recipe exchange.

I’ve been doing menu plans for years and posting them in the message forums at our family website. I don’t think anyone reads them, or cares, so I think I would really like to start posting them in my blog instead. 🙂
I just found this today, so too late to play for this week, but I’d like to play next week. I snagged your header graphic from the post, hope that was alright!
Great idea and thanks for doing this. Have a wonderful day!

i would love the recipe for the pork chops. what does QC stand for so i can google the recipe, or do you have a link for it posted?
Laura says
QC stands for Quick Cooking. It’s a magazine put out by Taste of Home…it’s now called Simple & Delicious. I did a quick search of the Taste of Home website and found the recipe for you. Here it is:

I’m just writing to make you know of the extraordinary discovery my daughter enjoyed visiting your web site. She mastered too many issues, which included how it is like to possess a great teaching heart to have many people really easily fully grasp various specialized topics. You undoubtedly surpassed our own desires. I appreciate you for churning out those useful, trustworthy, educational and also fun guidance on the topic to Kate.
Julie says
I’ve made a list of my families favorite recipes. Every 2 weeks I have my 13 yr old daughter help me make the menu’s. It’s so much easier then playing the “What do you want for dinner” “I don’t know” game! Recently I’ve started doing the same thing with lunch and breakfast but just a little different. To help us remember to eat more healthy I made a list of cereal fruit proteins and dairy products we like. Each day we each pick our breakfasts and lunches based on the list and what’s in the fridge. As a diabetic I need to remember to cover all the food groups especially fruit and veggies. This took a little time to put together but it has been worth it! My daughter and husband have more variety in their lunches so they aren’t eating the same thing everyday! I’m ready to start trying the freezer cooking. Can’t wait to get started!!

The web has truly changed the way we communicate and made it far easier to stay informed about
the lives of our loved ones. However Yahoo marketing and other pay
per click search engines offer some excellent traffic at a more reasonable
price. It’s probably some mix of the two, so I have to give him
props for not going too far in either direction.
