I’m so excited to announce that I now have an organizing app that is available to you as another tool to help you on your organizational journey, yay!  I worked with some awesome developers for months and months to design a simple and easy to use organizing and home task management app.  It’s called Organizing Junkie and it’s now available to download at the following places:

Android: Amazon App Store and Google Play

Apple:  iTunes

This app has been designed as a tool to help you simplify and organize your daily task list without making things more complicated than they need to be. As a busy work at home mom of three, I understand that we don’t need another tool to distract us from what needs to get done. What we need is a tool that helps us focus and stay on task without overwhelming us further. This app was created with that goal in mind.

Each day take three tasks from your master task list (you’ll need to set this up first) and add them to the daily top three section. These three designated daily tasks are your priority tasks for the day helping you narrow your focus and not be overwhelmed with everything else that needs to be done. Check tasks off as you complete them and be rewarded with fireworks (so very fun!) when you’ve accomplished what you set out to do. Way to go!

Have 5 minutes to spare? You’d be surprised what you can accomplish in such a short amount of time. The tasks under the “30 min” and “5 min” bins are all pre-loaded and ready to help you tackle a task depending on how much time you have available (note: some of you have asked to be able to add your own tasks to these sections and we are hoping to incorporate that into future editions).  Don’t like the one that’s given to you, shake your phone and you’ll be offered another. Use the included timer feature and you’ll be done in no time.

Another way to alleviate the overwhelming feeling that often accompanies clutter is to assign one organizing task to accomplish each week using the 52 weeks of organizing feature. This feature will help you monitor your progress as you take this year long organizational journey.

**So many simple yet effective organizing features all in one place designed to help you move from a life of chaos and clutter to one of sanity and order without losing your mind in the meantime.**

– Top 3 Daily Tasks
– 52 Weeks (getting organized one week at a time)
– Tidy Timer (for those walkabouts and 10 minute tidy’s)
– Less than 30 minutes and less than 5 minute suggested tasks
– Shopping list
– Personal home Mission Statement
– Easy access to the “I’m an Organizing Junkie” blog
– and more to come with each free update…

I love what Debra from Home Life Simplified had to say about it:

“I am a highly organized person who loves systems, lists, my paper planner and calendar. I have never been a fan of digital systems having tried to do lists and calendars previously on my  phone. I jumped at the chance to grab Laura’s new app on the day it was released – at such a reasonable price there was no risk. I have an ipad and the combination of the bigger screen + the organizing junkie app has been perfect for me. I am now using it exclusively for my master to do list. Every day I transfer 3 items from “all tasks” to “top 3 daily tasks”. Such a simple function, but it has changed everything for me – there are no distractions from the other to do items and I am finally able to focus on what I deemed important rather than be tempted by what is easy! I have managed to clear all 3 tasks at least 5 out of 7 days!”

Got more questions about it?  Please read this post first and if you still have questions after that, please don’t hesitate to leave a comment here for me.

Thanks so much everyone!

I have been using Org Junkie since it came out on Itunes and I love it and use it daily :-)
I have lots of stuff stored on there.
I have an iphone 4 and want to upgrade to an iphone 5 but i have been putting it off for fear that when i change phones, I will loose all my data stored on your app (see how big a part of my life it is!!!) . Therefore, is there any way to back up my org junkie to like a mainstream backup online or something so that I wont loose the data when i move to iphone 5?
Please kindly drop me an email to let me know.
    Kindest regards,

Hi Frances and Kate, this is a great question. I will have to ask my app developers and get back to you. Sorry about that.

My developers had this to say:

So as long as they back up their iPhone 4 and restore it their iPhone 5 then all the data should be saved and transferred properly. If they don’t know how to do that then apple support or an apple store can help them. They should make sure the backup was successful before they wipe out their old phone.

      Hope that helps!

I’m dying to try this! I’ve looked for other productivity apps and can’t find anything I like as much as this. I need an android version, though. I thought I saw it was available, but can’t find it anywhere. Please help!

Hi Julie, yes there was an Android version but unfortunately my developers have pulled my app down and it’s not currently available. I will let everyone know should it come back online. I’m super bummed about it because it was a terrific app that I loved :(

Laura…if the public can get behind you on bringing the Android version back, please let us know what we can do! Would it help if your clients contacted your developer as well?

Hi Julie, you are so sweet. I have no other updates to report unfortunately. The developers have moved on to other things I guess and don’t want the hassle of keeping it up. It’s so sad.
