Hello! How did your menu plans work out for you last week? Mine, not so great. Two of the recipes I picked for my menu plan last week were awful. The coconut crusted chicken and the ribs with homemade BBQ sauce both turned out terribly. I couldn’t even eat the ribs, the smell just made me gag. My husband still ate them (he is a sport!) but I just couldn’t do it. So that was disappointing but it happens. It won’t stop me from trying new recipes though because for every awful one there is a winner so it all works out in the end.
I did make beef bone broth over the weekend and that turned out really well. I used a slow cooker recipe from The Paleo Approach Cookbook. It tastes amazing and the health benefits of bone broth are many. My full mason jars make me so happy!!

Thanks for hosting us! I’ve always wanted to make my own broth — having heard it’s SO much better than the boxed stuff. Will have to try it. And thank you for the links to the recipes…. In the winter I LOVE finding new recipes for my slow cooker! Have a great start to your week!!

If you see the honey soy chicken legs recipe around pinterest you should skip it. The smell of those was gross. They tasted better than they smelled but I would not make them again.

It’s always disappointing when recipes don’t work out. My menu didn’t go as planned last week due to a water main break but it didn’t throw us off too much. Thanks for all the slow cooker ideas.

I’m sorry to hear that the coconut chicken was not great. I bookmarked that recipe from last week. : (
The last two posts about trying new veggie has been interesting. I love brussel sprouts, however, I’m not sure that I would like them in this weeks crock pot recipe. They look mushy, and overcooked. That is why people are put off by them, overcooked and mushy are not appealing!
Then the beets post was good. I like the tops (greens), but not the bottoms. Thanks for some recipes for the bottoms for us to try!
Thank you for hosting,
Kathleen

Kathleen I’m sure I did something wrong with the chicken recipe, I can’t have egg so couldn’t use that and I just couldn’t get the topping to stick while it cooked. The ribs recipe I followed exactly and it was just nasty lol. This week I’m trying saurkraut for the first time, yikes!

It’s kind of nice to know I’m not the only one who tries new recipes that end up being disasters. The difference is I tend to use them on company!! My husband always laughs at me. I figure, I can blame the recipe instead of my cooking!!!

Yes I do believe my cooking disasters amuse my hubby too, he’s definitely use to them lol.
