We got a Tassimo for Christmas and a bunch of the coffee discs to go with it. Well all those boxes take up way too much valuable space for this organized gal so I took a little visit to my container for my containers (where I keep my basket stash!) to do a little “shopping”. I came up with this solution and I can’t even begin to tell you how happy it makes me. Plus baskets within baskets…be still my heart!
All these boxes:
turned into this:
I don’t even drink coffee, I just organize the stuff 🙂
I know you can buy the carousel stands for the discs but this was so much less expensive to do with these dollar store baskets.
Regular coffee went into the individual bins and the fancy coffee combos on the side.
Ahh so pretty and so much better!

Beautifully organized! So, how do you like the Tassimo? Are you happy with it?
Laura says
Hi Sarah! I haven’t used it myself but my husband is really loving it a lot! Since he’s the only one in the house that drinks coffee he finds he isn’t wasting as much now that he can just make a cup at a time. I’d like to try the tea and hot chocolate ones out for myself but haven’t been able to find the discs here in Alberta where I live 🙁

Any ideas for the Keurig K-cups, they are starting to take over
Laura says
I know they’re a different shape but I think you could use a basket as well for them. I’ve seen the carousel’s for the Keurig in Walmart for about 1/2 the cost of the Tassimo ones…I think around $12.00.

I love your container for containers Laura! I set up a shelf in my pantry to start storing baskets I empty while I’m reorganizing. I’ve already been able to go to the shelf and reuse some of them!
I definitely need to go thrifting to find some more baskets, this is so cool!

Great idea. We got a Kerig for Christmas and I was having the same problem so I put mine in a decorative basket by the coffee maker. Pretty and functional. Love that!
Have a fabulous day Laura!

beautiful! now THAT is what organizing is all about. finding a solution that works for you and is prettily done! 🙂

Nice. How would you organize tea boxes? The boxes take up lots of room, but the tea I buy, celestial seasoning, does not individually wrap their bags, so the bags are hard to identify.
Laura says
Here’s how I organize my tea like that…in a clear divided container with the box lids cut off:

I have a Keurig that my husband and I have been using for over a year now. For a long time we were buying the pods for them. We then realized we could be the attachment with the filter in it which allows us to use any coffee we want just like the coffee you put in regular coffee makers. This doesn’t really help with organizing the pods LOL but it does save us a lot of money buying the coffee this way and eliminates the need for storing pods in the house.
Laura says
I wish the Tassimo was able to do that.
Nolie says
Beautiful! Your way hold much more coffee than the silly little carousel does.

Container within a container. You must be in your glory! :v) It’s a great idea.

i would love to see your stash of containers in this new place…you did show us in your old place…:)
Laura says
Jonie it’s on my blog list, can’t wait to show you 🙂

I’m still feeling like the Tassimo is not the best product, in terms of packaging waste and environmental conservation. Any thoughts on this?
Laura says
I’d have to agree there definitely is a lot of packaging. Did you see the comment above about the Keurig and how you can use your own coffee in their discs. That would definitely cut down on packaging I would think. Hopefully Tassimo will come out with something similar.

Funny, I just posted about using pretty storage boxes for organizing…should have added this idea as well!

I like how you have a container of containers, lol!

The yarn shop I go to has a Keurig and they put a mesh drawer underneath it that perfectly fits the k cups. It doesn’t take any extra space & perfectly organizes several varieties of coffee. I think they got it at Target!

Nice! I love organizing 🙂

I got a Tassimo from my husband for Christmas and I can’t tell you how excited I was to read this post. I have everything just on a little serving platter right now..not organized! I am definitely doing this with the dollar baskets.
Thank you!

I have the kerig and love it – but those little k-cups are a pain to store – I’m not giving up precious counter space to a spinny rack either and cupboard space is premium too. My hubby found one that folds down from the underside of the cabinet on ebay but it was too big. I printed a picture and am having a friend’s hubby make one (he is a woodworker) to fit in my little space…I’ll send pics when its done

Looks very neat and spiffy. It would look great in the overhead cabinet. That way I can remember where I put my stuff.. Good job!

Thank you, great idea and I LOVE my Dollarama store. These long baskets are just the trick and fit perfectly on a shelve in my pantry. Now I can re-cycle the boxes as soon as I purchase the pods.
