The following is a guest post about planner supplies organization from regular contributor, Kristin at The Gold Project.
I thought I would share one final planner themed post before moving on to my next topic. I have shared just about everything dealing with my planner except how I store my planner supplies. So, that is what I am sharing today.
Planner Supplies Organization
Over the past couple of years I have organized and reorganized planner supplies many times. I would try something for a little while to see if it was functional for me. If it worked, great. If it didn’t, then I would research and try a different organization method. I think I finally have a planner supplies organization system that is working for me after all of that time and I am excited to share it with you.
Old Planners
I have only recently started saving my old planners. Before, I would just get rid of them because I didn’t have a reason to keep them. There wasn’t anything in them that I felt I would look back on in the future.
Now, I also use my planner as a memory keeper with my Polaroid Zip printer. My daughter and I have already gone back through my old planners several times to check out the photos that I placed in them.
Currently, I just store my old planners on the bookcase in my office, so we can refer to them often.
Planner Clips
Planner clips are one of my fun planner accessories. I love to use them in my planner for photos when I share my weekly spreads. I would definitely use them everyday if my planner stayed in one spot, but it doesn’t. My planner travels everywhere with me and the planner clips would get destroyed going in and out of my traveling tote.
I store my clips in acrylic trays that I purchased from Amazon (affiliate link). These can also be found at Wal-Mart. Then, I labeled each section with the clips that are inside.
Pens
This is the one system that may get changed. Right now, I have my fun and decorative pens in two pen cups on my planner station. The others I have bunched together in one drawer in my office.
I would eventually like to change the way the ones in the drawer are organized, but I still haven’t found a system that works. I might try to get smaller trays and divide them out by pens, pencils, markers, and highlighters.
Stickers
I think I finally have a sticker organization system that works for me. And, it isn’t using just one type of storage. I have all of my Libbie& Co mystery kits in a regular size Better Binder from Staples divided out by month. Then, everything else is stored in accordion files in a small basket divided out by shop and type.
Pouches
All of my small planner pouches are being stored together in the bottom drawer of my Ikea Alex drawer unit. I use this drawer system to store a lot of my planning and mailing supplies. The very bottom drawer houses all of my pouches. I have gotten rid of a lot of them, so what you are seeing is actually what I use often.
How do you store your planner supplies? I would love for y’all to share your ideas with me, especially for pen organization. I need some help in that area.
My name is Kristin and I am a middle school career education teacher by day and a mommy/wife/blogger by night. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have two loving children. We recently made a life-changing move to Arkansas, so our new house is always under construction. I get excitement out of finding new creative, functional, and cute ways to organize things! I also enjoy writing and documenting life as it happens. So, I put these loves together and created The Gold Project. With the help of my husband, I am attempting to turn our house into a home. So, check out this special place of mine and take this journey with me!

I would like to see what you have stored in each of the planner pouches. I have found that when I can’t see inside (clear or lightly tinted) things tend to be “forgotten”.
Thank you!

The ones in the picture are empty, but I can definitely share a pouches post next month. I can share all of the ones I carry daily and that is in each. 🙂

this is the organizational piece that I use for my pens and markers. I love that it’s clear and gives me a pop of color on my desk.

That is awesome. Thank you for sharing. 🙂

Where did you find the binder inserts? I think most shops have that size and I’d love a better alternative to just the mini binders.
Kristin @ The Gold Project says
They are from Amazon. Leaving the link below. 🙂

I have enjoyed having a planner this year. It’s been a couple years since I’ve had one. It has stickers in the front to mark days, but I don’t use them much. I want another one next year but not sure if I need such a big one, but them I need to fill it all up with writing as there’s lots of room. Last year I just had a cool little coil binder notebook to write out lists for groceries, memories, etc. I keep all my stickers that I use on cards and letters in a small lidded container. Pens I put in an old cup that I still want to keep. Also have others in a plastic 3 drawer on shelf by my computer. I went over to your paper planner as a memory keeper link. Good ideas! I will keep mine this year, for sure. Unusual year for us in OR with all the snow and ice and now what’s happening with the wildfires that are an hour away from us is just incredible and heartbreaking! Thanks for sharing.

I will definitely keep y’all in my thoughts and prayers.
