Hey friends, happy Monday! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend as we go into a brand new week at the start of a brand new month. I’m curious as to how many of you out there are still not regular menu planners? I’d love to know what else I can do to convince you that it’s well worth the effort? I want to support you in this as best as I can so be sure to let me know where you are stuck and what’s holding you back.
Menu Planning Resource:
This week’s menu planning resource is from the great site Pocket Change Gourmet. Each month Liz puts out a printable monthly menu plan with recipe links. Some of you might find this helpful to utilize especially if you don’t have special dietary needs to consider. Go check the monthly menu plan for May that’s now out.
Enjoy your week and I hope it’s delicious!!

I love the pocket-change MONTH long plan! I usually do a month at a time- then break it up; A great resource!

Weekly menu planning saves money because you don’t over buy. Reduces waste because you use up what you have and saves time because you aren’t running to the grocery store everyday….and once you start doing it. Writing a menu for the week only takes a few minutes.

Hi! I was just wondering if you only prefer meal plans or if recipes are okay to link up? Thanks!
Laura Wittman says
Hi Jennifer, right now it’s only menu plans but I am considering allowing recipes as well. I am going to ask what everyone thinks of that and go from there. Thanks!

Thanks for hosting!

Thanks so much for featuring our Monthly Menu Plan, Laura! We love menu planning and have found over the years that it’s the best thing to stay on track during our busy lives.

Well, you know I’ve been menu planning with you for 9 years now (!) – I just don’t post it.
I actually had a brainwave this weekend – to just keep my old menu plans so I don’t have to wrack my brain every week. I know, I’m a bit slow 🙂
Laura Wittman says
Hey I get it girl, I rarely go back and look at my old menus. I have no idea why lol.

I love linking up with you each week! I find so many ideas from you and the other meal plans that are linked up. Thank you for hosting this awesome link up. 🙂

Keep the posts coming. i am trying to meal plan. We are on the go so much and with illness coming and going, we never know what will work, but I am an organizer and there has to be a way to make us eat healthier. Thank you for the encouragement.
Laura Wittman says
I know how hard it can be with illness Darlene, sometimes day by day is all you can do. Do you have a freezer you can stock with quick easy meals for the days you need them?
Darlene says
Yes I do. I have been planning meals, but things get in the way. I will keep planning. I can do this easier in the winter when meals are heavier. Summer seems to be more spontaneous. I do keep the freezer stocked with lighter meal options. Working on better nutrition also. Keep your encouragment and ideas coming. It keeps me and I am sure others accountable.

it is IMPOSSIBLE for us to line up a specific meal schedule since things have been known to change so many times. it’s not worth wasting our time lining anything thing up more then maybe a day in advance. when we go shopping for food, we buy stuff based on what we use most often. Leftovers that aren’t eating within a few days are usually pitched out to the outside cats.
Night b4 last was unknown but wound up being breakfast for dinner. Last night was supposed to be my uncle picking up burgers but since he wasn’t able to get back last night so it was egg noodles, meat balls, and salad. Tonight was possibly going to be rice-a-roni and chicken but mom decided to do mystery meat stew(i think it’s por) and a potato salad on the side.
if i had a dollar for every shopping trip or some other situation that went late so we had to grab fast food or switch to a faster cooking food at home, i could afford one VERY nice online lego order.
