Pumpkin, pumpkin everywhere I look on blogland. Oh my goodness stop the recipe madness ha! Just kidding, I know many of you love all things pumpkin in the fall season which is why it appears in my above fall Menu Plan Monday banner. However I did get pretty excited when I shared on Facebook my dislike of pumpkin and many of you agreed with me. Who knew? 🙂
So in other news we are getting SNOW here today. Yes in September, if you need me I’ll be huddled in the corner sucking my thumb rocking back and forth. I can’t even.
I’ve got more simple recipes on the menu this week. I do spend a good deal of time searching for quick and simple recipes every Sunday night but the success of my weekly cooking depends on it. I know myself well enough now that if it’s not a recipe that can be prepared fast I’m not going to end up making it. I hope you find the recipe links helpful for your weekly menu planning.

I have to say, I dislike canned pumpkin but I love baking with fresh puree. Unfortunately, it’s a lot of effort but the taste is a world of difference!
Thank you for hosting!

Snow, already? *sigh* I hope we’ve got a couple more months. I’m not ready for that! Hope you’ve got some hot chocolate to warm you up. 🙂

It’s still snowing today but it’s not sticking too much thank goodness.

Snow. I can’t imagine snow this early. We’re still running the air conditioning this time of year here.
Laura says
I can’t even imagine. I just pulled out my big fuzzy slippers 🙂

My husband is not a huge fan of pumpkin although my boys and I both like it. Did you say snow? In September? Yikes! I haven’t even finished whining about how short summer was this year. I hope the snow melts soon and you get some sort of a fall.
Laura says
Yes I’m hoping so too! 🙂
Lori says
I like pumpkin in limited doses. Sorry to hear about the early snow! I, too, live in the mountains, and know how that rolls. I remember having snow during 4th of July fireworks one year – really wild & crazy. Thanks for hosting an awesome party – it’s my favorite one!
Laura says
Awe thanks Lori!
Janet says
Snow already? I’m so sorry. Sending warm thoughts your way. I actually like pumpkin but don’t eat a lot of it.

I can’t even think of snow right now, but I know it’s coming soon. Thanks for the gluten-free recipes link. I have two children gluten-free as well as myself. It becomes challenging at times.
Laura says
Oh so glad you found that helpful.
Keri says
I’ll send you warm thoughts! It’s already 85 here and it isn’t even noon… Sounds like you need a nice mug of hot cocoa! 🙂

I had sloppy joes at my Grandma’s house this weekend, hadn’t had them in forever! Now they sound delicious – I need to make them at home sometime.
