The following is a guest post from our newest regular contributor, Kristin at The O.C.D Life. Welcome Kristin!
It seems like at the end of every summer, I question whether my kids actually got to have some fun over their break. I know my kiddos are still young, but you are never too young to have a little fun. I guess you could say, our summer activities have never been very organized. I am a to-do list type of person. If I have a list written down, I know what needs to be done. Plus, I enjoy marking things off these lists. I get internal joy out of using that No. 2 pencil to draw a nice and thick line through an accomplished goal.
So, this year, I decided to create one of these lists to keep my family fun organized for summer. I sat down with my daughter and we created a list of 30 things that she would like to do this summer. Some of them do not even require leaving the house and a few can be accomplished at the same time. And, I learned a lot sitting down with my daughter to create this list. Kids do not require a lot of money spent on them to have a good time. One of the top things she wanted to do was have a pillow fight in the living room. I was completely shocked, but pretty excited to jot it down on the list.
I have included our summer bucket list and a printable that will help you and your family create one as well.

To help me stay focused on my summer family activity goals, I placed this little document on the refrigerator. Our refrigerator is the most viewed spot in the house, so I will get to view it several times a day.
Have fun creating a summer bucket list of your own!

Do you know what “bucket list” means?
Kristin @ The O.C.D. Liife says
I was running names for the list in my head and “bucket list” kept sticking in my head. I know the original phrase means things to do before you die. I actually love the movie! Hope it didn’t offend you because that wasn’t my intention at all. Xoxo 😉

I wish I would have had this when my kids were younger…the things on your list are so do-able and simple…although reading down through it I guess I did do a lot of those things with my kids in the summer and really, all the time. When I first saw the title of your article I was prepared to start feeling like a loser mom, but I guess I didn’t do too badly…thanks for sharing this… I hope it helps other families have a great, simple, summer…busy shouldn’t be so glorified all the time

Perfect timing as I finally have a day off from work and I am thinking what am I going to do for summer. I want it to be a productive one, not a lazy one. Yet, I don’t want to do all the planning. I want the children (teens actually) to have a say in what we do. So, that it isn’t like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. 🙂

The contributor’s website is down – you don’t happen to have the printable in a .doc so we can add our list?
