Hi friends, as most of you know this May I’ll reach my 7 year blogging milestone. Ack, say what? It really surprises me to say that because honestly I didn’t think I had it in me. You see I have a very short attention span plus I have commitment issues lol. I’m totally not kidding . But I guess the fact that the blogging industry changes on a pretty much daily basis helps to keep me on my toes. Some days it really is exhausting trying to keep up with it all. Good grief just when I think I have things all figured out, something happens that changes everything. For instance, Pinterest was a huge game changer. I never use to have to worry about putting words on my pictures or have Pin It buttons here, there and everywhere. But it is where the majority of my traffic comes from now so jump on the bandwagon I had to do. You either keep up or get left behind. Learning all the technical stuff has nearly sent me over the edge a few times but I am so thankful for the people that I’ve been able to hire over the years to help me with all those aspects. Honestly some things are just better left to the professionals 🙂
The other thing that keeps me going here day by day is all of YOU of course! When I get those emails and comments from you telling me how something I’ve written has made the difference for you on your organizational journey, I cry every single time. I’m a mush I know but I love hearing your success stories. It never ceases to amaze me and I give all the glory to God for providing me the words I write here each day. Writing does not come naturally to me. It’s such a foreign concept to me to hear that others live and breathe words that come together on paper or screen. I do not feel that at all. But I do love to organize and I do love to share and teach organizing concepts and principals. This format here has been such an amazing platform for me to do that and I so love being able to share this crazy passion of mine in this way. And I’ll continue to do so until God tells me it’s time to pack it up 🙂
I look back at my own organizational journey that I’ve taken in the last 7 years. 7 years ago I was container and basket obsessed. Today, while I still drool over and talk with my baskets, I find that with all the purging I’ve done lately, I have less and less to put in those baskets. Simplicity is what I crave most of all. I like being less busy, having less stuff and living less chaotically. Not to mention that 7 years ago I could barely cook a frozen pizza without burning it and now thanks to regularly menu planning I’m amazed that I manage to cook a pretty decent meal four or five nights a week. I still have many a mishaps but I’m not as scared by them as I once was. Besides those mishaps make great blog content lol.
Up and coming:
In March I’ll be running my annual organizing challenge. I hope you’ll think about participating. It will be a great opportunity to get one entire space in your home organized during the course of a month. More details coming soon!
I’ve also got a new blog header coming soon. I’m so excited about it. Since the beginning I’ve tried to change my header at least once a year to keep things fresh around here. We are almost done the design so it won’t be long now!
Survey:
To help me with the future direction of I’m an Organizing Junkie, I have a tiny survey I would be so grateful if you would complete for me. I haven’t done a survey since 2009. To be honest, it’s nerve wrecking to be this vulnerable but I want to be sure that what I’m providing for you here is really what you’re after. I want to continue to make sure those things align.
So if you would be so kind please click here for my totally anonymous survey. I’ll close the survey a week from now on February 19th.
Thanks y’all! I’m looking forward to reading your responses 🙂

The link for the survey isn’t working for me, Laura.

I’m not sure if the survey is working for me or not. I hit ‘submit’… it worked on it for a bit, then the screen blinked and was back to the top of the form… with all the info I had entered still visible. I hit submit again… same thing happened. So you’ll either have nothing from me… or two copies!

In the survey, I said that I wished there was a MPM banner with snow on it – and I just now saw one on someone’s MPM post! But it isn’t on the guidelines page that has all of the banners. 🙂

Thank you Laura, for all you do, and for all you’ve done for me! I thank you, my family thanks you, my friends thank you.
For after all these years I am finally making some headway and getting some practice in maintenance, instead of constantly starting over again, and others have been inspired and motivated because of what you’ve inspired and motivated me to do.
That probably made no sense what so ever, but I just love you and what you’ve done for me! Looking forward to the next challenge, which is coming at the perfect time!
